I wonder how they are going to co-exist with tomorrow's India when India's economic size reached 70% of US GDP. technically advanced India is inevitable. I really doubt that the freedem and democracy can protect India from being targeted by the US when it comes to global hegemony competition. Indian companies won't be able to compete with US tech giants in a playground that is govened by a fair set of international rules. One thing that India is different from China is that India is more or less like Israel. they export not only engineers to US, but also CEOs. they are part of US capitalists which able to influence the US policy.
The US gov has repeatedly blocking and jamming GPS signals in areas and ships which we don't like. The Yinhe incident was a strong trigger to make China decide to build their own navigation system.
I’m from South East Asia, we always face problem from American to temporary switch off their GPS and causing our ship lost direction in the sea frequently. Luckily China help us to solve the problem. GPS is not serving the world, it serve American only, on the other hand, China is the only country show helping hand.
Nobody on the ship knows how to use check the stars or use a sextant for navigation? Sure, I'd use any system available if the one I was relying upon was no longer reliable. I just thought that the crews of ocean-going ships would still fallback on old time-tested methods of navigation.
A Filipino- American invented the GPS...from what i know he is working in California Tech City. Now, we have Super Generator that does not use fuel, Battery, LNG, Oil, Coal etc. The thing is we dont know when this Generator will be introduced to the world. This Generator is a threat to big time Businessman...they will be wipe out ang go bunkcrupt.
I like how when the talk about us gps they show people walking and using phones and when they show China they show soldiers marching and military equipment
US media is a part of the Military Industrial Complex. It’s purpose is primarily to regurgitate and tow the party line. This relationship with the MIC goes back all the way to the USS Maine explosion that saw yellow journalism start a war with Spain.
For the general public: the Chinese versions of satellite maps and real-time navigation apps are just as advanced (if not more) than their Western counterparts.
When you see the title, you realize how American media is with the mindset.. whenever others have something, then it's a threat.. this is becoming pathetic.
US:It's absolutely not acceptable to see any other countries getting stronger or even better than us in any aspect. Even is par with us is intolerable, including the allies. Not to mention China. Such kind of mindset will be remaining in most of American's mind not just now but within next two decades. But we all know that China will reshape it eventually. And that makes Americans feel so suffered ,anxious and scared, politicians and civilians alike.
The difference is education. China provides top quality education to its citizens for free. U.S. top education is very expensive. At the end of the day how many engineers produce each country?
China’s initial investment of billions of dollars in the Galileo project aimed at collaboration, but the US influenced Europe to exclude China, prompting the development of China’s own navigation system. A similar trend unfolded with China’s space station. Despite facing sanctions, China’s determination led to notable advancements, strengthening the country in these domains. Now, a similar pattern is emerging in the Chinese chip industry, resembling the recurring narrative seen in the story of Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan.
I am sure our allegiance to the almighty US will totally pay of and be worth much more than getting on good grounds with the emerging super power and also strengthening our technological independence in the process. /s
Just like how China was totally neck and neck with the US in developing AI. Until 6 months ago when ChatGPT became public and all of the propaganda and bluster fell apart. I wouldn’t believe they’re close to the west in any advanced tech until it’s proven.

Yeah that doesn't make sense, what is China going to do with your information anyway? They don't have the capability or legal jurisdiction to arrest you anyway, the US does, and will.
Everyone interviewed in this video has various degree of this mentality that "all good things have to and must come from United States of America, otherwise it is bad, vicious and a threat". A thread to what? to whom? GPS is not a threat in that sense? This US exceptionalism is astounding. So other countries cannot and are not allowed to develop their own technologies? I am speechless.
You pulled that assumption out of thin air. Who said other countries cannot develop their own technologies? China obviously felt threatened enough by GPS to develop their own system, so why can the US not feel similarly threatened enough by China's system to update their own?
Russia has its GLONASS, EU has its Galileo. but they're not on the same level as GPS. BDS in some areas even surpassed GPS. give it five years to a decade, chips will be next.

Just like America weaponize the space station and the dollar.
@@andrew6846 Wrong! Very wrong. China had to develop their own GPS because the US could shut them down in China anytime just as it excluded them from NASA. This feeling of being threatened is a one way street with the US being threatened of losing its hegemony. Do you ever hear China of announcing the US must be contained? have you heard of them going around the world warning them of the US? Never. It is the other way around with the US announcing to everybody that China must be contained that happened and is continuing to happen. It formed the QUAD to do that, right now it has plans to open a NATO office in japan. It has a 500 million budget for anti-China propaganda. It sanctioned and forced other nations microchip companies not to do business with China. The list is endless of the US very much panicking that China is going to pass them economically.
They can but that means we should help them make the US insecure. Global trade works if security is ok. And that has only work because the US was the only superpower. But it makes no sense to help china get rich even if we get rich if we get less secure. Thats basically all of history except the US global order. Its why globalism hasnt work till now and is going to fail in the future.

@lagrangewei Blessing in disguise. Makes China stronger, smarter, far more resilient and increases their national pride and dedication tenfold. To be honest the West is very stupid. In China they had a willing customer and hence someone dependent on you who is not building up domestic know how because they are essentially your customer-positive sum game. Now you play hardball and force the Chinese to learn and innovate making them increasingly capable and determined. On top of that you give their government a massive gift. That's the truth that the West chooses to ignore in order to portray the "China threat". The fact that the West has not yet learned its lesson, and that the West will continue with its narrow-minded zero-sum mentality, will make China stronger, more resilient, more self-sufficient, and more competitive. This will leave the West with nothing to do but complain.

From this and other American reports, one could sense how the inferiority complex has been building in the hearts of American. Together with the sanctions, I am convinced that America is losing. Because when two persons are competing in running 100m, competitors should run harder rather than pulling the legs of the competitor. China is challenging American dominance in economy, technology, space, and even in sports. Just look at the gold medal number in the current aquatics competition in Fukuoka.

Problem with that story is that you can't just turn off GPS for one ship. You'll be turning it off for all civilian applications in the wider area. So I have to call BS on that story. And it goes even further. According to official communication, the latest generation of GPS satellites no longer holds the capability to reduce the accuracy for civilian receivers. The one thing that makes me doubt that part as well is the fact that Obama signed a law that allows the US to destroy the European Galileo network because the EU would not offer the US any option to disable the Galileo network in a conflict region if required while offering higher accuracy to civilian receivers than what GPS has to offer. Furthermore, one of the statements in the video, namely that only the American GPS is used in aviation is also false as multiple manufacturers offer the ability to also pick up the Galileo constellation.
@@Hans-gb4mv Disabling GPS for one ship: It is true that turning off GPS for a single ship is not feasible without affecting other civilian applications in the surrounding area. Latest generation of GPS satellites: As of my last update in September 2021, there was no official communication suggesting that the latest generation of GPS satellites could no longer reduce accuracy for civilian receivers. However, satellite technology and policies may have evolved since then, so it's essential to refer to up-to-date sources for the latest information. Obama signing a law to destroy the Galileo network: I'm not aware of any such law signed by Obama or any other U.S. president. The Galileo network is the European Union's global navigation satellite system, and its operations have not been targeted for destruction by the U.S. Multiple manufacturers offering Galileo constellation support: It is accurate that multiple manufacturers offer devices that can pick up signals from both the American GPS and the European Galileo constellation. Many modern receivers are designed to be multi-constellation compatible, utilizing signals from different satellite systems to improve accuracy and availability. Of course a US media outlet will not talk about the US's bullying and bad actions. China started to work on their own navigation system after the Yinhe incident in 1993. The producer and the editor of course omitted that and just talked about the missiles over the Taiwan straight.
Tbh, US is the treat. China developed their own GPS system because of US shut off GPS system access to a Chinese ship years ago. Now try to cut off China access to chips. End result is forcing China making their own chips, like what happened to GPS system.
China made their own Lithography machine as well. not as advanced as ASML but hey you have to start somewhere. they can build 7nm chips and are the leaders in Carbon based chips. the successor to Silicon chips that every other chip company still makes. but they cant make those chips anymore because China put a ban on the minerals that are needed to make chips. because China owns the most of those minerals. So now chip companies like Samsung Intel AMD Panasonic TSMC all have problems in making chips. all because the US dont want to work with China. Samsung lost 96% of their revenue in their Chip industry. Japan just lost 10 billion dollars for boycotting China because they side with the US. Everuthing the US does doesnt work. and i like to see it. China is only getting stronger
For the US, no other countries should develop in advanced technology. Any new inventions are considered "threats" as far as the US is concerned. The Whitehouse spokeswoman even claimed that China has infringed the rights of the US's future inventions. What a spoiled and arrogant behaviour.😂😂😂
Haha, thank you for your kind intentions. However, in China, we don't believe in God, and even with deities, they are revered for their ability to assist us, like the God of Wealth. Worshipping him can help us become wealthier
I don’t understand how the Chinese navigation system is challenging to the United States. Can’t the Chinese have their own? Are they allowed to have their own navigation system? Or do they have to ask the United States permission to have it?
Because the United States wants to maintain its position as the sole superpower in the post-Cold War world and aims to have the entire world follow its leadership and adhere to its arrangements.
Frightened people are easier to manipulate, so American politicians and media keeps the population in a perpetual state of fear and tension and competition and threat.
You live in peace now, is because you have dominated the british (with helps from others), otherwise you still be paying taxes to the crown, and fighting constant gorilla warfares against the empire.
China’s real twist on GPS was when the U.S. government shut down GPS to Chinese merchant ships on the high seas for so-called inspections. As a result, the merchant ship lost its way at sea and drifted for nearly a week.
China is doing good every country should have it's own navigation system India is also developing NAVIC system it's currently only operational for military and scientific use.
While the Yinhe incident is probably unknown to 99.9% of Americans, it was a wake-up call to the Chinese - who remembered it acutely as a day of national shame - to develop their own GPS system
Just listening to this shows how militarised the entire ecosystem in the USA is. Every damn thing is about Military and military use and military dominance.
This is sad. Not in a million years would I believe how they have lost their self-confidence and self-esteem to the point that they have to use scare tactics.
@@Sam-dc9bg China? No. This militarisation is all American talk. That is US projecting themselves onto the Chinese. The Chinese need to have its own because the Americans militarise everything. USD, SWIFT, UN agencies under its influence, Including IMF and World Bank. Just a recent example - Joe Biden "instructed" IMF to approve a multi billion $ loan to Turkey in exchange for Turkey support for several NATO issues. ( You can fact check this easily)
Elon Musk’s Starlink for Internet is also satellite-based and it can also track your location because you actually send a signal back up to the satellite. BTW, GPS III would be doing the same as Baido regarding tracking user location. Yes, China is doing what USA wishes to do too.
That doesn’t make sense. You only need to receive GPS 3 or Beidou signal for navigation and anything more than that is optional. For Starlink you have to have BOTH RX and TX in order for it to work, since it’s Internet.
That's not how GPS systems work. There's a lot more to it than location tracking. Atomic clocks, etc. etc. Much Much more than just pinging a location. Regardless, Starlink uses national GPS systems, they don't have their own.
It's not the competition. It's about the type of government. If people are tracked, citizens in a Democracy can and will protest. No protests in China.

They also use it for anti Israel civilian
I’m from South East Asia, we always face problem from American to temporary switch off their GPS and causing our ship lost direction in the sea frequently. Luckily China help us to solve the problem.

GPS signals are broadcast from satellites and are available for civilian use worldwide. While it is possible to selectively deny access to GPS signals in specific regions, doing so would impact all users within that area.
It's important to verify information from credible and up-to-date sources, as misunderstandings or misinformation can spread easily, especially on social media. If you have any specific questions or need further information on a particular topic, feel free to ask.
