So refreshing to see a reviewer aiming at a target and actually hitting it instead of grouping off lower and to the side. I like to see a reviewer that has taken the time to find the right pellet and adjusted aim to hit the bullseye - impressive shooting.
I'd never given BSA a second thought before I got my r10th, but now I put it up there with my beloved ultimate sporter. Great looking gun, and by the way I've had my r10th about two years now, bought second hand and its never let me down yet.
My FAC BSAR10 SE 177cal is my favorite rifle. It's more consistent over my chronograph than anything else. It's supremely accurate. I purchased it at the beginning of 2020. I've shot it thousands of times. Not one problem! I will be buying one of these R12. What a wonderful evolution of a truly great company. 🇬🇧 God bless you all. From the USA 🇺🇸
Thanks Andy for getting me back into air rifles. I'm 53 now haven't shot a gun since the hw35 days. Just purchased a hp750 thanks to you. And yes very tempted on that bsa
What a gem Andy! Great to see BSA are still producing world beating rifles. I am tempted to move my loyalty from Daystate to BSA. Really good review matey!
Happy Birthday Andy! I always look forward to your videos. Thank you again for bringing the joy! I have a BSA R10th .22 that I consider a work of art. Cheers from the US, happiness and blessings to you and yours!
Well worth getting up early before the children wake on my hols in lanzarote to watch Andys review of the latest Bsa release. I bought the R10th a year ago and have recently bought the Vulcan 3 . Now my bank balance is going to take another hit as this R12 looks the dogs nuts . Its beautiful. Thanks Andy for another great review 👍 👏 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I saw this video on the Wednesday morning my order went in on the Thursday. I ordered a .22 black pepper super carbine. The rifle shipped on Friday and arrived on the Monday, as I was unpacking the rifle in my shop a gent walked in took one look at the gun and bought it outright. We fitted a scope for him so we did manage to get a shoot of the rifle, all I can say is what an amazing rifle. I’ve seen a few comments mentioning a carbon bottle, all that can say is handle the rifle have a real world shoot of it, then have a think how a carbon fibre bottle would alter the balance of the rifle. I can only talk about the super carbine but the balance it spot on. BSA have done an incredible job, again.
aha, but a lighter carbon bottle means you could actually fit a longer one. more capacity to deal with air hungry FAC R12's! If it stayed the same diameter it would clear the silencer.
@@Igotknobblies There are many pros and cons with carbon cyls. Yes it is lighter, so in theory you could fit a larger one. One knock to a carbon cyl can significantly weaken its integrity and yes I know there are many guns around that have carbon bottles all of which run this risk. There are other pros and cons to both of course but the shot count isn’t terrible, the gun balances superbly with the alloy cyl and you would need much more than just an honest knock to render it US. Not to mention a cyl of any material sticking out much further than it already is, is gonna look pretty ridiculous imo of course. I dare say the aftermarket industry will soon be making many add on features for these rifles.
Great rifle and very accurate I just wish they had a look at it and matched the bottle in satin black instead of that nasty gloss black so it fitted in with the whole rifle.
@@johnnydough1870 it's just the small details that would have finished the rifle off as everything else on it is satin its a shame to have to wrap it especially at the price point of this rifle seen it priced £1575
I was always a fan of BSA since I had a Superstar carbine some 30 years ago... I now have an R10th and it is an dream to shoot, so much so I bought a single shot Goldstar for HFT, something I came to regret very quickly, it was like shooting a shotgun no matter what pellet I tried, I couldn't hit any sort of grouping over 20 yds, it went back to BSA and was returned just as bad, to the point that I thought it was me, but alas no, others tried shooting it and were no better. I retuned it to the RFD and bought a GRS stocked FX Dreamline, now that is an awesome gun. As much as the R12 excites me and as much as I love the look and thought of buying one, after my Goldstar experience, I just can't see me parting with my money...
I've just purchased a brand new R10th in black pepper. Would I be parting with that little rifle Oh No. Will I be owning one of these scintillating new R12 CLX Pro. Oh Yes. Proud ti be British and to see the Made in Birmingham stamped on there. Makes me proud. My order will be in as soon as. Thanks Andy. We think alike and share the BSA Passion.
I have been through several rifles, in 1.77 and .22. I own a HW110, it has become a benchmark by my standards. Now don’t get me wrong, I have tried cheap guns that are great, I have tried really expensive guns that I just didn’t get along with. I have tried getting the best bang for my buck. Overall I would say that I have given the current market a run for its money. I have now owned the R12 for a couple of weeks, I’m ready to say it now. This feels like a forever gun, I don’t see a universe where I could part with it. I have an AGT Vulcan 3, it feels rough when cocking compared to the R12! In hind sight, try before you buy. I have spent a fortune on the hunt for the rifle that could be my mainstay. If I had tried this I would have said the feel of my AGT was subpar. Before you knock this rifle, shoulder it, get a few down range and then give in to the fact that the British can produce a sublime piece of craftsmanship!
Don't know the reason why you don't see them in RMAC or other Bench rest championships if it shoots one hole at 40 yards, probablly it's not good enough.heard the trigger isn't great.
Absolutely beautiful,my first rifles was BSA lightning and the the ultra and so on. They are near perfect rifles and very good to work on, I can tune them to perfection now however I wish they would have done a carbon fibre bottle on the front and not the gloss black, I think it would have made it the best looking rifle on the market if they did.
Just bought my r12. Sighted it in today and I already love it. It feels great, nice and lightweight but a good solid feel to it. Its very smooth when it's cycling the pellets, and quiet enough to plink in my garden.
Great to see something of quality is made here still. Just hope that the quality continues for the consumer, which my R10 didn't. Nice, and perhaps a little less pennies than I was expecting, but I'm not hankering for one. Still love my T-10.
Hi Andy, Thankyou for a fantastic, honest, passionate review of the newly released BSA R12. I would agree, it looks an amazing piece of kit. The accuracy and shot count speak for themselves. I especially like the safety catch, and it's function, absolutely beautiful. Some of these comments are a tough read. I don't think BSA did themselves any favours, shipping their units without air. I believe this may have caused the seals to move, thus why so many people complain about loss of pressure and air leaks. I very much hope its a successful air rifle for BSA and puts them where they should be, leading the world in air rifle design and manufacture. Well done Andy. Thankyou and take care!
I never thought of your shipping without air comment. You may be right. Perhaps if the shop who initially gets the rifle airs it up. It would be fine. But if it sat in a warehouse for a year. That may cause an issue. Mine, never had one problem. And I live in the USA. Shipped to me without air. The bottle wasn't even attached. Maybe Pyramid Air keeps them in a climate controlled environment.
Hi Andy. yesterday i bought 2nd hand R10 se sporter 22cal , in immaculate condition like it came straight out of the birmingham factory. what a gorgeous rifle ,The guys at Avalon guns in street somerset , told me i wouldnt want much else after owning one of these and then added we have the R12 coming soon just when you thought they couldnt do any better. great reviews Andy keep up the great content . ps im never going to sell my R10 neither haha
Awesome, so want one. And, if/when I buy a new air rifle, it will be BSA, uk designed and made. You make a very good point that we should be supporting our uk industries, and with quality like this, there is no excuse. 🙂
After watching the review decided I had to have one. Bought BSA R12 CLX Pro in .177, great looking gun BUT on first outing saw pellets droping from mag ( seems to be a big problem for the BSA mag's) Second outing side lever decided to give up and not cocking. Checked for any obstruction but nothing obvious. After 10 days yes ten days the gun is not fit for purpose and back to the shop for refund. ANDY as you say in the review "You had an input into the R12" it would be great if you could revisit the R12 with another review and get BSA's response to all the problems owners are finding as my experience is not a one off.
Great review Andy thank you. I’ve got my BSA r12 coming Tues in .177 black pepper. Really looking forward to using it. What a great company BSA are, well in folks.
Happy birthday Andy. What a beautiful looking gun, maybe if I squeezed my Superten and Meteor up a bit I could make room in the cabinet for R12 CLX Pro. Thanks for a good video.
Complete novice here!! However, in an effort to help the British economy, I’ve just gone and bought the VA special release kit in .22 walnut, paid for with a tax rebait that landed on my door mat only last Friday (does that mean it’s tax free? LOL), the very same day I watched this review …. Happy days!! …. I’d been looking for a while at the R10, then saw this, and the timing was right …. Thank you!…. It’s going to be a keeper! These seem to be flying out the door pretty quick too!!
I didn't think they could get better than the R10 TH which I've had and is an absolute joy to shoot. Accurate is an understatement as is consistency. I must say the laminate one has my eye for vermin control...
Had my R12 couple of months now. Tried slugs (Wildman and ProHunter) but they kept falling through the opening in the stock and jammed the action. With diablo pellets it is devastatingly accurate. O ring went on one of the mags. Got the rifle out to use this morning and it would not cock. Returned to BSA under guarantee. Disappointed to say the least.
@@kevinparker461 My partner has a BSA Goldstar which she uses for HFT competition. Initially she had so many problems with air leaks, having to replace seals and having to replace the regulator with a Huma as the original one was useless! Quite ridiculous as all the BSA's are built on a similar action you'd think they'd have got it right by now!
I've had a BSA R10SE 177cal FAC for over 2 years. Nothing I own is more consistent over my chronograph. I haven't had one problem with it. Shot 1,000s of times. Hi from the USA 🇺🇸
Thanks so much for a fantastic review video Andy. This is most definitely damaging the wallet!!!!! BSA .....British designed and built!!! Amongst all the doom and gloom this just made my year. This country is still great......when we build stuff ourselves!!!!!!
BSA they just make the best guns I have a ultra 177 had it for 10 years never let me down perfectly accurate also have a R10 another spectacular gun BSA - simply the best thanks BSA 👍🏻
🤤 One change I'd have liked to see, or something BSA could add as an option, is to swap the bottle for a carbon fibre bottle just to bring the weight down a little and shift the CG back into the body more. Other than that, what a beautiful bit of kit! I'd wanted an R10th, ended up buying a Brocock Safari XR because I wanted the side lever action and it is also an incredible gun... but I may now have to save up the pennies to add one of these to the collection!
Certainly in the case of the Best Fittings carbon wrapped bottle, it is significantly heavier than the 280 aluminium. For 20cc more it's not worth it and is ugly. There are of course bespoke 'proper' carbon bottles that are lighter. Before you go down the route of "Ah but carbon bottle can be filled to a higher pressure" how often does your fill tank have more than 280 bar in? And what is the maximum fill pressure of the R12? If you're using a pump, then you're heading for green internal death, unless you're using a proper 300 bar (£3k plus) compressor. The cotton filters that are used in The Yong Heng and the Nomad type compressors do not stop moisture for long, even the big ones. And that's of course you keep up to them and change them regularly, which I'll wager my left nut, 99% don't. I haven't seen any small compressor that has a proper condensation tower to remove most of the moisture.
@Erasmuspipebagger Hello Sir, Thankyou for a really great message. I, too, was waiting for BSA to bring out a carbon fibre bottle, racing out to go and purchase one. However, from the points you've kindly raised, I will be doing a lot more research, as I don't like heading backwards, thinking I'm leaping forward. I just automatically thought, lighter bottle, maybe slightly larger, for more shots... Now I'm not so sure? Something that's not really broken doesn't really need fixing. Thankyou.
On Monday 05/09/22 I purchased a BSA R12, 0.177 full length barrel, when i got home I shot 100+, what an accurate gun this is. I thought I would top up the air using my compressor; however, the probe would not get a seal it is a loose fir in the filling port so i could not top up my gun. The next day i returned to the gun shop where i purchased this rifle, funny thing it fills up from an AIR bottle, all-be-it with a few squeaks and whistles. The shop tried the probs from several guns and all appeared quite loose, so the suggestion was to fit slightly larger O rings to the probe, this for now has cured the issue, hope it last, fingers crossed. other than that a great gun.
Wow I owne a r 10th, & how I would make it nicer, side lever safty magnet on mag instead of locking it in, & now BSA have done it with this R12 love it,, like I will not sell or swop my r 10th, love it, happy birthday Andy, thank you for your reviews always wherth a watch.
Just thought I’d leave a feedback on the bsa R12 CLX PRO 177… wow! Been shooting it now for over two months! I have the black pepper laminate I and will never sell it!! Purely amazing….
Extreme beauty and lovely air gun.. I really love it.. And the most I love is your presentation Andy.. Your words so nice and gentle.. Greetings from Indonesia🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
A quality rifle for traditional shooters. Being UK based, support is going to be a lot easier than from non-UK manufacturers. Having met some of the BSA staff, there's passion ! I have an old R10 with a HUMA regulator fitted late AND a CLX 160. Basic, accurate, reliable and workhorses (well maybe not the cossetted 160).
Daystate are UK based but their after sales support is a crock!. Steyr UK, on the other hand are a dream to deal with. Got two BSA, had one 30 years but never had to use BSA, its that reliable!.
Happy birthday Andy 🍻. Geat video, my step dad and i love watching your content. I think with this rifle BSA are leading the charge with quality performance and value for money. This is definitely a rifle I'd like to add to my collection, thanks again 🙌🏻
So you like a BSA, then? Great review, & i love the fact of your consistency in targetwork... it adds to the overall impression one can get from a gun review (you're very modest about your shooting ability!). Thanks very much, Andy.
Happy birthday Andy, what a wonderful addition to the BSA line, I truly think I would grab one of these if the budget would allow. But for now I will just have to re watch this video and dribble over it lol
Happy belated Birthday Andy! And congratulations with it. You say it’s a big one, are you at liberty to discuss it? And congratulations with your Participation with BSA. That must have been a dandy to keep to yourself!.. lol. Sorry I’m a couple of day’s late but I’ve had a busy week, not that your a stranger to them. Keep up the good work and know that your appreciated!! Your late ( not dead yet) friend in Phoenix. Rae
An interesting development at a price commensurate with it's performance, appearance and ergonomics. For me certainly worth consideration after any possible initial glitches have been resolved. The performance of a cross-section of BSA products at my Club reflect general reliability; my Superstar and Ultra SE are testament to this. All things going well one may be joining my collection. Thank you Andy.
Aww hell! Finally a classic looking PCP rifle that even I would want to own! This one is packed full with awesome features. The most amazing thing of it - is of course the pricepoint of it. I was betting on a price around £2000 due it being what it is... Happy Birthday to Andy! And massive thanks to Andy and crew!
Thanks as always Andy for a great review.. A carbon bottle would have been nice. Also hope it remains reliable as i had a CLX commemorative Edition which i had to return as it continued to jam and fire itself when cocked...
Greetings, I have an R10 SE and as you say it is very good, I met this brand around the 80s, in the house of an uncle of mine who had a very powerful BSA that had some scary kicks since it was a spring rifle and even So it was VERY precise and I never forgot that. Later I bought a high precision DIANA GECADO Model 75 and now I met the PCP and I fell in love with its softness, power and comfort and that was when, after thinking about it a lot, since these weapons are not Very economical, I decided on the BSA R10 SE and I have no regrets at all since it is an excellent weapon, and this new BSA R12 looks very interesting... Greetings from Chile

Happy Birthday Andy and thanks for another great review... but would have liked to see this newby with a fully ambi side- lever and CF bottle option as a lot of the competitors have done for some time.
Hi, enjoyed your review on the latest BSA rifle. Nice to see a rifle of British manufacture. Seriously of thinking of purchasing one. Happy Birthday Andy.
So refreshing to see a reviewer aiming at a target and actually hitting it instead of grouping off lower and to the side. I like to see a reviewer that has taken the time to find the right pellet and adjusted aim to hit the bullseye - impressive shooting.
Hitting to the side could be to do with crosswinds so most shooters won’t adjust zero

O ring went on one of the mags. Got the rifle out to use this morning and it would not cock. Returned to BSA under guarantee. Disappointed to say the least.
I'm deciding 😩 I'm little down because of the power , it's a bit low .
I hope the BSA regulator and seals really are better than the previous models.
I know a few people who have had problems with R10s, shame because i have been a fan of BSA for over 50 years!
Happy birthday Andy, and a great new gun to celebrate it with. Have a great day
Looks tasty.
We must support our native industry. Always nice to see bsa factory doing its thing.
I'm looking forward to the fac specs. It has everything I've wanted in a BSA except one; a power adjuster. Thanks Andy!
ALL that price, and no external power adjustment? I wonder why.
Happy birthday Andy! What a beauty this is. Great video. Thank you again.
Happy birthday Andy, many, many happy returns!
What a fantastic rifle bsa have done it again like you Andy I won't be selling my r10 but may sell some of my other rifles.
I was astonished by the accuracy, this is a superb airgun.
BSA they just make the best guns I have a ultra 177 had it for 10 years never let me down perfectly accurate also have a R10 another spectacular gun BSA - simply the best thanks BSA 👍🏻
Happy Birthday, Andy! Have an awesome day!. The BSA looks great too!
🤤
One change I'd have liked to see, or something BSA could add as an option, is to swap the bottle for a carbon fibre bottle just to bring the weight down a little and shift the CG back into the body more.
@@janrobertbos many many MANY pennies!
@Erasmuspipebagger
Hello Sir,
Thankyou for a really great message.
I got mine today, went to fill it up,guess what air came out for a second or two then a little pop was ok.?? Seems the prob is loose.?
Happy Birthday Andy. Have a great day.
Oh wow ,looks amazing and with that performance. Happy birthday Andy 🎂
Happy birthday Andy hope you have a great day, great review as well thanks.
Nice review..

Happy Birthday Andy, looks like I can add this to the future shopping list.
I reckon if enough of us buy one BSA should make a custom AAR one for your birthday!
A very Happy Birthday to you Andy! Fabulous review.
Accuracy, that was amazing. The grouping, and through the center. Impressive. Looks good too.
Happy Birthday Andy 🥳 What a beautiful gun, and thank you for a great review
Happy belated Birthday Andy!
And congratulations with it. You say it’s a big one, are you at liberty to discuss it?
And congratulations with your Participation with BSA. That must have been a dandy to keep to yourself!.. lol. Sorry I’m a couple of day’s late but I’ve had a busy week, not that your a stranger to them. Keep up the good work and know that your appreciated!!
Your late ( not dead yet) friend in Phoenix.

Happy birthday Andy!! 🍀
😎👍🏻.🥰 BSA !! What an amazing pellet air rifle !
Happy birthday Andy have a brilliant day!
Fabulous review Andy! Best of British again!!!!
Happy birthday from across the pond..
Great looking rifle. Agree with other comments that a full size carbon bottle would really top it off.
Hi Andy, love your show, I'm 67 and want to get back into airguns, the r12 looks the way to go, I think il get the bolt action. 22,because the 177 seems to have a few issues
Happy Birthday Andy, what a beautiful Birthday surprise!
Looks amazing but no mention of the regulator, is this the same as the R10 ?
If so will be cagey
@@roberthowe2910 yeah Iv just seen another review new regulator but still made in house so there own make
Getting back into air gunning, been undecided in what rifle to get.....my last was a AA s510 walnut....what a gun....but after seeing this andy ,and your review......think I've found my next hunting rifle.....thank you for ending my headache....lol,great review👍🏻
Happy Birthday Andy, brilliant review as always. Love the Rifle.
Very happy birthday to Andy in the Old World from Vincent in the New World. Have a lovely day!
Thank you thank you thank you I’ve recently bought the r12 and you are so spot on with your review and the guys at bsa thank you is not good enough for what you have created
Happy Birthday Andy and thanks for another great review... but would have liked to see this newby with a fully ambi side- lever and CF bottle option as a lot of the competitors have done for some time.
Many happy returns Andy
Dang, if I had room in my collection this would be next. Love the size, wood stock, short length, and how the mag is attached to the action.
Hi, enjoyed your review on the latest BSA rifle. Nice to see a rifle of British manufacture. Seriously of thinking of purchasing one.
Happy Birthday Andy.
Happy Birthday Andy
HBD Andy. All the best. Thanks for your instructive videos
