Or, it's an opportunity to connect with this generation and share all the names and bridge the divide so this legacy lives on. I'd guess Stevie would do that. I am so glad this generation is using this forum to discover soul-feeding music with the older generation graciously guiding them. Much better than what the music industry has done. : )

It is absolutely nuts to me that those are the only people that were recognized. I was born in 89, this was made far before my time and I still recognized Cindy Lauper, Steve Perry, Kenny Loggins, Lionel Richie, Kenny Rogers, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Tina Turner, a bunch of Jackson siblings, not to mention the ones that were recognized. These are legends!

But you just have to react to *WE ARE THE WORLD: FULL DOCUMENTERY* or watch it in your own and then I'll give you every name of the artists involved, and their best song. Since you already know Michael, Stevie, and Charles, I'll add them anyway. I'd go through them but in z seoperate time. Every single person there was responsible for selling millions (yes,
with an 's'!) of albums and/or movie-tickets! This was released on
45-vinyl with the proceeds going to fight a series of famines that
Africa was having then (1985). I bought a couple copies myself. It also
sold as a music video on VHS. If I remember correctly, they also put on
a concert that was broadcast live, and you could call in to a number and
pledge money for famine-relief! An early form of 'social-media fund-raising'!
. . . I call this 'The $12 Billion Dollar Chorus', because that probably ended
up being their 'Total Net Worth'! Of course, MJ himself ended up being half
of that by himself! But even the most minor of them (Kim Carnes, the pretty,
young-seeming long-haired blonde gal) probably ended up being worth
    20-30 million dollars!
. . . But the *names!* Ray Charles! Stevie Wonder! Bruce Springsteen!
Kenny Rogers! Aretha Franklin! Bob Dylan! Steve Perry! Diana Ross!
Paul Simon! Tina Turner! Willie Nelson! the entire Jackson clan,
including MJ, of course! Kenny Logins! Lionel Ritchie (of course)!
The Pointer Sisters! Bette Midler! Al Jarreau! Cyndi Lauper! Huey Lewis!
Smokey Robinson! Billy Joel! Harry Belafonte! Hall & Oates! Sheila E.!
    ... & more!

We all make mistakes. No worries!
"Do They Know It's Christmas," by Band Aid came first. (UK)
USA and Canada both released songs to help aid the famine in Ethiopia.
"We Are the World," by USA for Africa. (USA)
"Tears Are Not Enough," Northern Lights. (Canada)
You should react to the other songs!
    Then, "Live Aid!"
My favorite performance? Queen, "Radio GaGa!" Watch the audience and Freddie Mercury interact!
They were able to raise a lot of money for the famine in Africa.
