    To use the P.Loop button, you have to go into "System" settings, select "P.Loop" and turn it off of "Performance" and set it to "Patch Edit" before you can use it, even though you can Assign effects to it without doing that, but they won't work. You'll be pulling your hair out trying to figure out why its not working. Figured that out the hard way.

    Yours are sdtill the best videos concerning the GT 100. Thank You for that.
    Still use it in my bands and I love its sound.
    Often thought about buying a GT 1000, but why? The GT 100 does it all.

      Hi there, Peter.
      Thanks for your comment, and kind words, I greatly appreciate it.
      I'm glad you found my videos helpful.
      I agree, the GT-100 is still a very valid piece of gear!
      I guess it all depends on what we're trying to achieve, if we made the upgrade. There will be some big improvements, of coutse, but again, it all depends on what we're trying to achieve.
      Let me know if there's anything else I can do.
      Have an excellent day.
      Cheers.

      I'm very glad that you like and enjoyed my video!
      I plan on doing a bunch of other videos too, very soon!
      I have a lot of things and tricks I would like to show other GT users too :-)
      Johnny, please let me know if you have any other or further questions/requests - I'll be more than happy to help you out!
      The GT-100 can be a tricky beast, but with patience and experimenting you can achieve a lot!
      I've used Boss gear for many years now and they are great! Anything you want they will do!
      Many people think the GT-100 is too complicated and give up too easily on it, and that's a real shame!
      They sure miss out on a lot of good stuff ;-)

      Hi Johnny :-)
      Thanks for your comment, and for watching, I appreciate that!
      Hmm, do you mean how to get your patches in a specific order?
      So that on pedal 1 you have a clean sound, on pedal 2 you have a dirty sound and on pedal 3 you have a solo sound?
      Is that what you mean? :-)
      Let me know!

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay, I see, it's easy! :-)
      You would basically just choose a patch to start on - For example, U01-1. Then set up your clean sound the way you like it, add the effects you want and press the WRITE-button and save the patch. Now the Clean patch is saved and ready. Then go to the next location, could be U01-2, and set up the dirty sound. Save it and it's ready. Go to U01-3 and set up the Solo patch, and save it, and you're done.
      You follow? :-)
      Otherwise let me know!
      Cheers!

    Hi. Thanks for the video. Excellent instructions. Can you please tell me if these assigns work in manual mode?

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey again, Rob.
      Sure, they most certainly do!
      All you have to do, once you've entered Manual Mode, is to set either the Accel or Phrase Loop pedal, or both even, to CTL ASGN. I believe it's the very last option, when you scroll with knobs 7 & 8.
      The real beauty of Manual Mode is that you're still able to use all of the 8 available assigns, while still having all the footswitches available as well! Plenty of options :-)
      Makes sense? :-)
      Let me know.

    Great video! I would also appreciate any help on setting parameters for each effect in the chain and also the sound difference on a Mono or a stereo patch

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much, Sudarshan :-) I appreciate it!
      What parameters are you thinking about? Anything particular you have in mind, friend?
      I can give you a basic overview, in writing, about the difference between a Mono and a Stereo patch.
      When using the GT-100 in Mono you are mainly using the left ouput on the GT-100, and then running it into your amplifier. This basically means that effects like stereo compression, chorus, delay, etc. will not produce its full potential, but it can still sound excellent.
      In Stereo you get the full advantage of the wonderful stereo effects onboard the GT-100.
      Effects like chorus, delay and also the onboard preamps can be run in stereo!
      The stereo connection will basically produce a wider and bigger sound image and really thicken up the sound.
      I always run my GT-100 in stereo, and I wouldn't be without it - it just sounds too good!
      Let me know if you need more information!
      Kind regards :-)

    Is it possible to assign effects not using the pl, accl and num pedal only while in manual mode? Instead of using these 3 dedicated pedals while in manual mode. Is it possible to make an assign in pedal 1 while in manual mode? Or perhaps bank 1 or bank 2 pedal?

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, Clan.
      I find your question a little confusing, so I hope I'm on the right track with my answer...
      When you're in Manual Mode you can set up Assigns on the Phrase Loop and Accel/CTL pedal, by setting the function to "CTL ASGN" - then you need to set up the Assigns using A1 - A8. Then NUM pedal can do things as well, like Tuner, OD SOLO, etc.
      Please let me know if this helps.
      Cheers.

    Hi Kenny, just asking....aftre about 10 minutes, you explan how to boost the signal. You use a pre-amp, but does this has any benifits if you use 4CM?

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Arie!
      Thanks for watching!
      Well, both yes and no...
      I'm using the built-in amps and cabs from the GT-100, so I have no external amp with me when I play.
      I'm running directly into our mixer, when I play live and at rehearsals..
      Since you're using the 4CM you have the ability to actually choose between using both your external amp (Hughes & Ketner) and also the built-in ones from the GT-100.
      So in some way this could benefit you, if you used the built-in amps on one patch, for example.
      I hope that makes sense :-)
      Cheers.

      Simply use the standard DLY block, and find the sub delay in the FX1 and FX2.

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there, Sanku Paul.
      I've used the GT-100 since it first came out, and I still do, so I know almost everything about this unit, and I can tell you that I'm still excited to use it.
      The GT-100 is a great multi effects processor, with many effects, preamps and cabinets - and much more.
      All the effects are of high quality, and so are the preamps and cabinets - I use them all myself, when I play live with my band.
      I would highly recommend the GT-100, that's for sure!
      There are 200 preset patches and 200 user patches, that you can build and customize yourself.
      The Looper has 38 seconds of recrodig in Mono and 19 seconds in Stereo.
      But really, all this information is also available on the Boss/Roland webpage, where they have dedicated product page on the GT-100 - check that out as well :-)
      Anyway, I would highly recommend the GT-100, that's for sure!
      I hope this helps - let me know.
      Best regards

      A PA consists of a mixer, with channels/inputs to connect guitar, bass, microphones, etc. to - and the mixer has connected PA-speakers to output the sound. Most bands use them, and you can search for them on the internet, and here on TH-cam as well. Try searching for "Boss GT-100 through PA".
      Well, I haven't used the 4CM, but if you do a search on the internet/TH-cam on Boss GT-100 4 Cable Method, then there will be plenty of videos about it. If you search on Google, and select pictures, then there will be some pictures/diagrams as well.
      For updating the firmware of the GT-100, go to Boss/Roland's homepage and find the GT-100 and on its product page you'll see updates and drivers, for new software. That's the easiest way to do it :-)
      Thanks

      Going direct is a great option, and by using the onboard preamps and cabs you can really get a nice sounding patch going! :-)
      The biggest deal of getting a good sound out of the GT-100 is to be able to set up a patch correctly, knowing exactly what you need to do, and how you do it :-)
      I'll be happy to help you with that, no problem!
      Tone Central? Where you download patches from the Boss webpage? Or do you mean Boss Tone Studio? Where you can edit and create patches on your laptop? :-)

      john johnson There are a few ways. You can be on the main screen of the gt100 and lower it, you might have to go to user mode, then press exit. It's right there and then write it. You can also go into effects and lower the guitar input. You can also choose the last setting in the chain. Not sure what your problem is.

      @GuitarNTabs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there, Jack :-)
      No such thing... let me try and help you, if you want :-)
      First of all, have you set up the Phrase Loop pedal to do assigns and not the looper part? :-)
      That would be the first place to start - check for that.
      Once that is done, then press the CTL/EXP-button and go to your first available assign (A1 - A8) - since the Phrase Loop pedal doesn't have a dedicated assign icon/menu - like the Accel footswitch.
      Then turn that assign on, and make sure to set the source to the P. Loop pedal - which will be the Phrase Loop pedal.
      From there you should simply follow the parameters/options on the screen. Set the Target as COMP and make sure it toggles the effect ON/OFF.
      I believe that should do it - if not, then please let me know.
      Have a great day
      Cheers :-)
