- A Scottish adventure starting at Loch Lomond. Nicola and I on a road trip around Scotland taking in the sights, a few mountains (Munro’s), wild camping, wild swimming, cliff jumping, waterfalls and Lochs.
Lowest point - being eaten by midges
Highest point - the summit of Ben Macdui (1309) Britain’s 2nd highest peak. We also climb Ben Lomond (978m) and Ben Lawers (1214m).

Yeah magic and Nicola can run just as far as Blue! 😂 apparently the NC500 is becoming too busy and the infrastructure can’t cope with it. Better doing it in the colder months maybe 🤷🏻♂️.

Did ben lomond a few week back. Had to push her but got my 8yr old daughter up. We all loved and first thing she did on top was cartwheel. Great vid mate.
Well done to her! It’s quite a long slog. When they get to 12 they don’t want to go on adventures anymore 😭. It’s like herding cats trying to get them out. 😂😂😂

Dorset, Lincoln, Wetherby (visiting friends) Roseberry Topping Druridge Bay, Budle Bay, Bamburgh, Holy Island, Berwick and then across to Seathwaite in the Lakes ..... we only fell out 17 times. Don't know how you guys do it. Thanks for another gem.

Cheers mate! Lucky to be dry all the time we were there just some mountain top rain at times which added to the adventure.
Always important to remember that if you can’t see down into the water clearly it is better to go in slowly from the side because a lot of hidden trees and branches can be underneath out of sight and can be very dangerous. On a lighter note; I’m loving finding you guys on here, so much fun shared by such a lovely couple, thanks a million for sharing 😊

Just looking at sleeping mats atm need to decide which one I’m getting then I can get my stove, head torch etc as my mind is made on those little pieces. It seems your not too far from me I live in Hull and a few camps you’ve done are not too far from me 👍🏻
Yeah I’m in the Yorkshire Dales. It’s costs a bit to get all the gear but check all the sales and try buy decent quality from the start. Let me know how it goes!

Ben Nevis is awesome but you only get the best of it if you go along the arête at the other side and look back at it. If you do it you’ll understand what I mean.
Ha ha, your carrot reminded me of being given an entire cucumber to eat by an old lady on top of a mountain in South Korea.
It was actually really good and offered in lieu of a drink on a hot day when we were totally under prepared. Good old Korean lady.
Sounds like needed refreshment! That’s what side pockets on back packs are for… carrying cucumbers 😂
@@NicolaRuns 😂 she was 4’5”, about 75 year old (15 years ago 😳) with a tightly permed hair…I pretty sure it wasn’t you! I’m all in. I’m going to throw out my soft bottles and gels. Cucumbers and carrots from now on 😂
My home Loch Lomond. Enjoy if visiting please leave the place as you would wish to find it. Also, most importantly take note of the depth and temperature of the water. seven people have died in one week on the Loch. Be respectful but enjoy. I would also visit Dumbarton Rock the Ancient Capital of Scotland. Only fifteen minutes from Balloch. Luss Church has a Viking grave. Remember to drink heartily in The Dog House and other hostelries'. Alba Gu Brath. Jesus I think I am still barred from the Claghan.
Great scenery, it’s making us want to explore that region. Coming from a cycling background, I regularly use the arm warmers when out walking. Hope the ankle improves quickly mate.
Yeah they originate from my cycling kit but are brilliant for runs out over mountains with temperature change. I have often done my ankle from fell running and football and I’m pretty much always injured in some way. I just keep plodding on through it.

Loved this. Reminded me of a happier time in my life. I used to go up there a lot. I jumped onto the falls same place as you. I got out a lot quicker 😂 I was braver then. So good to make the happy memories. And nicely filmed too. I love that firkin point place. I slept on the beach. Just lay there all night 😂.

Another great film and lovely to see you both having a great time in Scotland. But all I kept thinking was “Nooooo, Alan has a Disco3 😢” I really miss ours. We have a Defender but I’m greedy & would love a Disco back. I also like the notice saying where you can camp. Would you share where your accommodation was? It looked beautiful
Hi Paul and thank you. Well Paul… I keep thinking ‘noooooo’ because I had a defender for 12 years and I miss it! Swap? 😂. To be fair the disco is awesome for all round with the 7 seats and I can set up a full double bed in the back too. In summer I usually have my roof tent on too. DM me on Instagram re the accommodation.
Can I ask what models the Raidlight Packs are. My wife's particularly interested in the female one.
I think the men’s ones will fit her as well. They seem to be made for the skinny ass runners. I have 3 and one is definitely too small for me and uncomfortable because of it. They are really good backpacks so get one that suits what you need to carry. I think the 14 litre one I use a lot but the 8 will fit most kit in you need.
I bought in the sale half price. Also check the raidlight website because occasionally they have a good sale too.

Music is hard because there isn’t much to choose from because of the laws around it. I just use the free stuff on TH-cam but it takes forever finding anything worth using because it’s all pretty rubbish.

Hi I’m a long distance fell runner was wondering what was the backpack you were using??
Check out the raidlight gear. Great ultra running bags and kit. Designed for skinny runners so I have three of their backpacks but one feels a bit small but I’m bigger on the top half than most distance runners. Good well thought out kit though.

One size and it’s the Evo XP14. It’s my preferred one because you can carry two small bottles on the front straps.

Hey buddy.
Have you encountered or know anyone with torn meniscus or arthritis on both knees.
It's been 3 years since I have stopped all hiking adventures due to those suspected symptoms on my knees.
Had scans MRI, nothing shows up.
Any advice?
I have a dodgy knee at the insertion point of my patella tendon. It aches but I keep on going and just ease off if it gets too bad. If you’ve rested for 3 years and you’re still suffering then you’ll have to get to the bottom of it. Trying eating completely raw like my dad? He swears it rid him of all aches and pains in his 60’s to this day.

Honestly it’s a mine field. I think just stick at it. Most people take forever to get started and then quit. You just have to keep going and make sure your videos are good and consistently good. Good luck!

Those gates and fences are not always useful/good: in the Australia wildfires, many, many, a lot of kangaroos/wildlife were burned to death because they could not get over and out of burning areas with miles long fences; most of the dead animals died along the fences. Fences also limits an animal's escape from predators. Given the growing human population's impact on killing, intentionally or otherwise, wildlife, we must think outside the box. You can build barrier/horizontal wires/etc., that are connected to the end posts by electric-magnets so when there is a fire, you can cut off electricity to allow fence links to detach from the end posts so they drops down/off and allow wildlife to escape. Someone please use this idea to protect the wildlife we depend on. No other species needs the human species to survive--it is we who need everything else. We are not at the top of the pyramid food chain (the worms are); the chart should be turned upside down with humans at the bottom point with all species we depend on for our existence above us. I know my comment is off topic but you have to spread knowledge wherever we can to spread better ideas. Think free! And thanks for the arm warmer tip--great idea too.
