I attended his concert December 2019 at Barclay's in New York. Hearing almost 19,000 people, from 68 different countries sing this song in Kazakh with him, and watching his reaction, left nary a dry eye in the arena, including Dimash. It was an honor to be a part of his dream coming true.
Dimash had done this song in many previous competitions. He always gets very emotional when singing it. It was his strongest wish to sing it on the international stage. In New York the fans chimed in. He was so proud and moved by that.
Yes💕 he got very emotional at Barclay concert in New York.(I was not there😢) but watch the concert often.. he emotionally thanked his dears for making his dream come true. Even in interviews his parents state how amazed they are that fans from all culture and languages know Daididau so well; because of this reason, it is their favorite. Much love 💕
Yesss Ep #7! I love lots of diff DQ 🎶, MV’s (etc) - but can’t stress how special his Singer perf’s were/are. It was my 1st deep dive into DQ. I watched each Ep in order, in awe & in its entirety - it was magic! Thx U Jacob for sharing your “dive” ✨🤍 Tica
I love this performance so much. Once Dimash paused......the audience went completely silent.......everyone in the audience was holding their breath.....literally could hear a pin drop.
I love this performance of Daididau, the arrangement is so beautiful and that pause in the middle gave me such goosebumps the first time I watched it. Awesome that the audience gave him that space to let the song breathe. You see it so often where audiences the moment there's silence just start applauding as if the song is over even when the performance is clearly still going and it often ruins the atmosphere that the singer and musicians have spent so much effort and time getting in place. Dimash did a song love is like a dream where silence was broken with applause and I always wonder what that specific performance would've felt like if that atmosphere had been allowed to stay in place. I have seen a lot of people confused by pauses like that though, unless you're really paying attention to the way the music is moving and what the performer is doing its hard to know if its the end or just a pause. And after all, all it takes is one person clapping and everyone else thinks they must know that its over and they start clapping too haha. Random thought sorry. I'm so glad you're getting to see the behind the scenes ones for these songs. The next two are really useful too, I'm pretty sure if memory serves that next week shows him at his old school and then the week after he was very poorly and it really puts an impetus on the song and how well he managed even though his throat was very visibly hurting him at times. I'd be interested in maybe seeing you eventually do a comparison between singer performance of daybreak and bastau daybreak because you can tell he was unsatisfied performing such an important song while sick (although I think you would have to know his voice to really notice a difference, like if when he was ill was the only time you'd ever heard him sing im not sure you'd necessarily know something was wrong) and he really knocked it out of the park at bastau. You can hear how much easier it is for him at bastau. As it was such a special song im glad he got to do it again without feeling so ill through it. Love your videos as always, look forward to the next one, of Dimash or anyone tbh. Take care P.s. also my favourite song of his is in Kazakh. Its Akkuym (my swan) but specifically the MV version. Its the only song of his that I actually prefer the non live version, which is mainly due to the arrangement, its just a stunning version of that song. It started life as a duet a few years back and is now a lovely solo song with a beast of an arrangement for the MV ha.
A very magical performance by Dimash. He brought the story to life and honored his country in a most beautiful way. I just love everything he does and we all know when he sings in Kazakh his comfort level and pride swell through the roof. Thank you for the reaction and take care Jacob.
What he does when performing will stand the test of time, he's a legend unto himself, and rightly so. It is wonderful to watch/listen to Dimash. If you want to see something amazing, you HAVE TO watch him sing this at his Bastau concert! One hundred dombra players in the beginning, a breathtaking background and his very emotional performance and ending. Honestly .... don't miss it!
Dimash showed how proud he is of his home country Kazakhstan n its traditions..he's such an incredible & amazing artiste & sharing with the world a traditional Kazakhstan song..it is a beautiful song..another awesome performance by the great Dimash Qudaibergen..

YAY--another reaction from Jacob about Dimash--2 of most favorite guys!!! Even though the song, created from the absolutely heartbreaking lines from the true story of a poet's ode to his wife (believing the lie that she had forsaken him when he was imprisoned is devastatingly sad), I love how Dimash himself reacts when singing it, to the point of grateful tears when thousands of Dears from all over the world will honor him by singing along in his native language at his concerts. And you're so right when it comes to the tempo, as well as dynamics, of this particular song--he grew up hearing it sung from his earliest childhood memories, like all Kazakhs, so its depth within him is truly profound. I, along with everyone else, find myself holding my breath at those dramatic pauses, just leaning forward in my chair, waiting for the next notes to drop. Can't wait to see what cha got for us when it comes to "Daybreak" next time--and if you thought THIS performance was full of anguish..........................well, fair warning, get an extra big box of Kleenex ready. Thank you, Jacob, for giving us another of your expert take on things!
@@JacobBurtonStudios You're more than welcome, Jacob--just remember that like with "Daididau" it's extra important to know the (true) backstory, making it even more poignant.
For those who love Dimash, another must see singer is Zhao Shen from China. Because of his small stature, feminine disposition and voice, he was often bullied in school. Never thinking that he had what it takes to be a singer, he went tot he Ukraine to become a dentist. While there, he was convinced that he did have a great singing ability, thus transferred his major to music. Thank goodness he did. As an introduction into Zhao "Charlie" Shen, begin with his premiere performance on the Voice of China singing HuanYan. After this first video, move on to his versions of "Memory", and "Time to Say Goodbye". For something different from him, watch his version of "Let It Go" and "Monsters". Last, but definitely not least (there is so much more from him), enjoy the videos, "This is Me" and a very unique and fun song (one of my favs) "Da La Beng Ba". His biggest success is the song "Big Fish".
This is the best version of Daifidau he has made. He really wanted to show in China how much he loves his country. The Kazakh language and music sound so beautiful to ones ears!! Thank you for bringing back this song.💝🙏
Hello! Dimash's dream came true. "Daididau" is sung by everyone, Dears of different nationalities along with Dimash at his concerts in his native language, Kazakh.
Hello Jacob! I really love your reactions and am looking forward to seeing the rest Dimash "The Singer" songs reactions! But I would like to recommand a song called Marigolds: it's an Ukranian folk song thay Dimash learned it in 2 days and sang it in his Kiev Arnau tour!!
Episode 8 ("Daybreak") from The Singer has a SUPERIMPORTANT BACKGROUNDSTORY!!! You have to react via GLORIA WU's channel, where you will get the full story of the horrific tragedy that led up to the making of this song, right before Dimash starts to sing... Please take this to heart. For me it's a total anticlimax seeing reactions to Daybreak when the reactor is totally obliviant to why this is such an important song to Dimash and that his dispare when he sings is real, coming from a true heartwrenching tragedy... There is a supersad backgroundstory to Daididau aswell that you can check out for yourself via Gloria Wu's channel. LOVE your Dimashreactions btw!! 🙏❤🙏❤🙏
HI! Hope you're having a great day! If you enjoyed that way kind of singing from him, make sure to listen to Samaltau! It's a very ethnic sound as well and it's exceptional!
Great reaction!!! This song is so beautiful, and one of my favorites by Dimash. This was the first Kazakh song I've ever heard, it was really cool to discover how beautiful it sounds. I love when Dimash sings in Kazakh, it has something extra on top of his incredible singing in any other language. Awesome, waiting for the next one. I think that making a research before it's a very good idea.
By the way, when he sung this song on his NY concert in 2019, all the audience was singing with him, even though most of the people there didn't speak Kazakh. He was really moved by it.
Check out the Gloria Wu treatment of this song. She gives the back story about the imprisoned Kazakh poet's letter which is the source of the lyrics. Also see her video of "Daybreak" which also includes the story behind that song, and shows him talking with the songwriter. Her video also includes the side drama of Dimash losing his voice the day before having to sing, and her intro shows him going to the hospital to get injections to his throat. The backstage footage shows the concern of his fellow competitors. Her version is slowed down slightly. Many people have combined Gloria Wu's Singer version with the vocally better Bastau concert version in one reaction video, because the Bastau version is more impactful with the knowledge of the tragedy behind the song's lyrics from the Gloria Wu Singer video.
No I disagree. Gloria Wu version for this song and for an unforgettable day is really frustrating. She does a lot of things to it to avoid copyright strike and to me it takes away from the songs. What she does with Daybreak is good. Autumn Strong is slowed down and has a false back story. So.... I love the things Gloria Wu did. But all her videos should not be recommended. No offense but it's just true. He picked a great video here.
@@julieh.700 I agree with you, some of Gloria Wu's work is good and for sure she or they are trying hard, but the changes are sometimes not for the good (:
Dimash undeniably gave a top notch performance. Honestly, the fact at he got 3rd on this one only reflects the absolutely stellar performance of his competitors. Its worth watching this entire episode in particular.
Jacob: My understanding (and I could be wrong in some of the details) is that this was a song about a political prisoner during the Stalin era who was going to be put to death the very next morning. As an extra layer of cruelty, the prison officials informed the prisoner that his wife had just left him, although it was untrue. The song lyrics represented his final letter before execution pouring out his heart to her. Thus, the words have an even more haunting effect knowing this backstory.
Another great reaction of you. The only thing that I find a bit sad is that it takes such a long time before we are a little bit near all the masterpieces he released the last years... 😅 This is wonderful and to see his growth, but you do miss all the emotions and happiness for example about his just new released song Be with me and his MV (sooooo different, pop, funk, classical, rap, ánd so on, not to forget how sexy the song is!!) and belongs at the top of the charts all around the world). But I am stuck to your reactions, so I try to be patient 😜🤪
This my be my favorite performance. So many of his songs are great but the ones from his home country really work for me. The ending of this song, I always find myself holding my breath waiting for him to finish it. Great reaction sir.
Thanks so much!😊 Yes, something veryspecial happens whenever our Dimash sings in his native Kazakh, almost as if generations of his forefathers are telling their stories through that gorgeously silken throat, and it's only together that they can create masterpieces such as this - ditto for my all-time favourite, «Samaltau»! :D
Hi Jacob, I'm thrilled that you loved this beautiful song. 💖💖💖 Please, please tell me you''re not going to stop reacting to Dimash when this competition ends,... there are so many, many more wonderful performances out there to make you laugh, to make you sad... he's an emotional roller-coaster ride for sure!!! PS I've been catching up with your Nightwish videos🤩 They take me way back to my mis-spent youth in muddy English fields at 1960's and '70's rock concerts!!! Thank you for all your hard work. .
Thank you, love your reaction, and I'm happy that you are following the path of The Singer - so I know what is coming and I'm really looking forward to it! I feel the same as you here, that the Kazakh songs are special and even more (if possible) "on point", with ease, in perfect sync emotionally and pulsing with the music. Dimash is living EVERY song, but through the Kazakh songs you feel the vast country with his ancestors and all the energy behind and underneath and within him... Beautiful.- For the next song "Daybreak" you should again watch the back story of Gloria Wu's channel - important! Thank you, love from Germany
Jacob, THANKS for your reactions to Dimash!!!!.......Daididau Folklore song and is an appellation of a poem by Magzhan Zhumambayeba in honor of his wife Zelijha Daididau. Dimash is accompanied by great Kasajos musicians and they play the “Dombra” typical string instrument of Kazajistán and Dimash is an expert. His attire is typical of his country. look like prince. At the concert in NewYork , we sing that song every Dears with him. He was happy.....greetings from a Mexican Dear!....👏🏻❤️🇰🇿🇲🇽
@6:29, YOU truly have to do the one of this with the story, and like hundreds of people playing the Dombra🎉🎉😢😢❤❤❤❤ Daididau was the nickname of the woman that was married to a poet that was captured in the 30's and to torture him the guards told him that she was leaving him and before he was able to find out, he was killed 😢
👉 The Dombra is a folk musical instrument widely used in Central Asia. It is made of wood and has a pear-shaped body with a long neck (only in Kazakhstan with frets) to which two gut strings are attached. Today the dombra is a national symbol of the Kazakhs. One of the greatest dombra players was the Kazakh folk musician and composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly, who had a great influence on the development of Kazakh music culture, his musical composition 'Adai' is popular in Kazakhstan and abroad. Today the dombra is a national symbol of the Kazakhs. (www)🌼🇩🇪
One of my favorites of Dimash. I really prefer his kazakh songs, so much emotions and feelings coming thru. Even tho i dont speak kazakh, but you have to be heart of stone, if you dont feel dimashs music. Thanks for your Reaction, Jacob. I guess Confessa is next up in the Singer, if you want something new...there is a new song out just a few days ago from Dimash. Its called "Be with me" there you see a totally different side of dimash ( fyi th-cam.com/video/50SonlJfIUM/w-d-xo.html ). Greetings from Germany o/

Thank you Lauri!!! So glad you enjoyed my reaction. I’ll take your word for it snd get the Kleenex ready for the next one ❤️
@@JacobBurtonStudios You're more than welcome, Jacob--just remember that like with "Daididau" it's extra important to know the (true) backstory, making it even more poignant.
Изумительная песня и исполнение. Отличная реакция🤩🤩🤩👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️

Thanks for the recommendation 🙏🏻
This is the best version of Daifidau he has made. He really wanted to show in China how much he loves his country. The Kazakh language and music sound so beautiful to ones ears!!
Thank you for bringing back this song.💝🙏
So glad you enjoyed it! ❤️❤️
Daididau es una canción bellísima y la interpretación de Dimash es absolutamente sublime!

Hello! Dimash's dream came true. "Daididau" is sung by everyone, Dears of different nationalities along with Dimash at his concerts in his native language, Kazakh.

Одна из самым моих любимых песен. ☺️ Спасибо за реакцию👍

Thanks for the recommendation 🙏🏻
@@JacobBurtonStudios I forgot to say that the song "Marigolds" is for Mother's day!!

HI! Hope you're having a great day! If you enjoyed that way kind of singing from him, make sure to listen to Samaltau! It's a very ethnic sound as well and it's exceptional!
Thanks for the recommendation 🙏🏻
@@JacobBurtonStudios Do Samaltau from Tokyo Spring Festival. It's just him and 3 Kazakh musicians in his studio. (was during the pandemic)
Agreed. The Tokyo jazz festival recording of Samaltau is, without doubt, my absolute favorite Dimash performance... and that's saying a LOT
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

For sure checking out what the song is about is a must it also impacts you in a different way
No I disagree.
@@julieh.700 So is "Autumn Strong" related to the story of the Japanese actress?
Thanks for the recommendation 🙏🏻
Dimash undeniably gave a top notch performance. Honestly, the fact at he got 3rd on this one only reflects the absolutely stellar performance of his competitors. Its worth watching this entire episode in particular.

Jacob:
My understanding (and I could be wrong in some of the details) is that this was a song about a political prisoner during the Stalin era who was going to be put to death the very next morning. As an extra layer of cruelty, the prison officials informed the prisoner that his wife had just left him, although it was untrue. The song lyrics represented his final letter before execution pouring out his heart to her.
Thus, the words have an even more haunting effect knowing this backstory.
Oh wow. So tragic!
Another great reaction of you. The only thing that I find a bit sad is that it takes such a long time before we are a little bit near all the masterpieces he released the last years... 😅
This is wonderful and to see his growth, but you do miss all the emotions and happiness for example about his just new released song Be with me and his MV (sooooo different, pop, funk, classical, rap, ánd so on, not to forget how sexy the song is!!) and belongs at the top of the charts all around the world).
But I am stuck to your reactions, so I try to be patient 😜🤪
Haha thanks for watching!!

It’s incredible ❤️❤️❤️
É muito lindo esse patriotismo do Dimash! Cantor incrível muito sensível.💕💕💕💕🇧🇷🇧🇷

Jacob, THANKS for your reactions to Dimash!!!!.......Daididau
Folklore song and is an appellation of a poem by Magzhan Zhumambayeba in honor of his wife Zelijha Daididau.
Love all the great info ❤️❤️

(www)🌼🇩🇪
