This was one of those songs that made me cry just by hearing his voice, it is something that he transmits when he sings, something that is there, that you do not know what it is, but that melts your whole body and you have no choice but to shed a tear , even without understanding a word of what he says ... you know that it is something very sad because it is in every sound, every note of his voice. I think the singers behind it are fascinated that someone so young could have such a spectacular voice. Among them is Sandy Lam who won that Singer and Jam Hsiao and his band, who I love to listen to and that I invite you to do it too since he is a great artist, one of the most popular rockers in China, but with a versatility in his voice. It allows you to do wonderful things too.
His competitors backstage MUST have been intimidated, but what’s wonderful is that they became very fond of him and called him their “adopted foreign little brother.” He was the only foreigner and the youngest; spoke very little Mandarin. They looked out for him. After one performance when he (intentionally) fell to his knees, they were concerned that he’d hurt himself, so they gave him a gift of knee pads to wear. So sweet! Love your Dimash e!!

Jam Hsiao & Dimash have performed on stage together at a BTV New Year’s Gala 2019-Dec-31; and in 2018 Dimash, Jam & Tia Ray performed together at CTV Spring Festival Gala. Dimash has performed Late Autumn/Autumn strong about 30 times between 2017 and 2020... he wows the audience every time. This Song always brings me to tears with every performance.

I thought the guy with the hair (guitarist for the Lion Band) was nodding in approval this time. Everybody knew the subject matter of the song, so they were pretty somber. Sometimes the fact that watching Dimash do well is coupled with the fear of being voted out of the competition does show on their faces. When you get to Ep.#8 "Daybreak", when Dimash lost his voice the day before he had to sing, the concern and support of his competitors is obvious. You definitely need Gloria Wu for that one, for the tragic back story to the song and to see Dimash going to the doctor's for an injection to his throat. You would also need her version for the back story and translation to Ep.#7 "Daididau", which is in Kazakh. Some people skip Ep.#5 "Uptown Funk", which almost got Dimash voted off, and go to Ep.#6 " Adagio ", which he won. Since you see them all the time, this is part of what The Lion Band do : th-cam.com/video/fMfJJEqZEE8/w-d-xo.html Many of their numbers were more ballady to fit into the competition. They placed 3rd overall.

The Chinese audience was so stunned by this performance also because Dimash sang in Mandarin like a native speaker. Amazing, after working on this song for a week. A beautiful reaction.

Another reactor who spoke Mandarin said Dimash sang this song in perfect Manderin as he forgot while listening to the song that it was not Dimashs native tongue plus the emotional content was where it needed to be. I doubt many so-called big name American singers that can barely speak correct English could even attempt singing in a different language. It would be laughable to see them try.
You should know that Dimash' videos on Gloria Wu's channel have been slowed down for copyright reasons. For Dimash' best performance of Autumn Strong I suggest you watch/react the Kiev concert version (wearing red tuxedo). It's a lot better and worth another reaction video!
Also Gloria Wu's translation is way off according to another native Mandarin reactor (his channel is Theportraitart), he gives a more accurate translation. He also mentions that Dimash sings in perfect Mandarin, making him forget during the song that he isn't even Chinese.

To me, the altered audio sounds like his nose is blocked its a really odd effect on the sound from slowing it down. Obviously if you haven't heard the unaltered audio it probably isn't massively obvious, but once you've heard the original it really bugs your ears to hear the altered version haha. Or its just me being a weirdo. Ha.
Dimash paints a vocal pallet of emotions for us to experience the essence of the songs he sings - this happens when we let go of analyzing the how but focus on the why and the what of his singing - then no matter the language of the song we connect to the emotional core then we connect to our hearts in love and compassion - then we truly see, hear and feel the genius of Dimash.

Must be difficult w/ such an emo song (few X’s could see u gettin pulled in) but, you still maintained ur composure & gave a profess. critique. ;-) About the show, all artists are well est. singers, (DQ was 1st ever unknown invited) & all actually supported ea. other, (no back 🔪 - LMAO). PLUS, the audience are the judges & they’re ALL singers too (same ones come back ea. week), so it was difficult for DQ 2 rank higher than some of the popular Chinese artists on the show (like ... imagine if a newcomer won over Barbara Streisand if competition was in 🇺🇸 ... make sense now). After this season tho, they showered Dimash w/ awards & actually changed show rules (thus Jessie J won the following yr in 2018) as many left scratching their head at results week 2 week & final results too, (but diff culture I guess). So actually DQ won as it was the catapult for his career after videos went viral GLOBALLY (plus he was a Trail Blazer). 🤍🇺🇸dear

Another GREAT reaction--I've come to expect nothing less from you, Jacob! (Just as I can count on Dimash to always deliver! ;D ) I (once again) agree with you that the perfect tone was set by him with the careful selection from all the vocal tools that he can pull out out from his vocal toolbox (and at a moment's notice too), only choosing those techniques which reflected the somber mood, so muted and hushed (yet still so passionate) that a song like this demanded. As you insightfully pointed out, one example could be using an "even steady vibrato" helps accomplish this and I, for one, would have never thought of this! Fireworks would have been an inappropriate response for the longing and especially resignation here, and Dimash always, always, respects his audience, which can be seen so plainly in this entire video. He CARES about each audience, wanting to honor them as seen in many interviews and witnessed in his performances. Thank you for another INFORMATIVE reaction, my phriend!
Please make reaction to Diana Ankudinova - the most unique young talented singer. One of my favourite things to find and enjoy is music that gives me chills and goosebumps. I was cruising TH-cam recently and discovered a Russian talent show contestant that did just that, with one of the best, most unique voices I've heard in many years. Her delivery was nothing short of magical and I searched out more and more and more, and...more chills. I was stunned to find that the first performance I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 17 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French, English and Arabic. The covers she performed on that show are very popular on TH-cam. Many TH-camrs publish reactions on these performances, which include the ethnic song "River" (in a new musical arrangement), "Blizzard", "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse", "Helwa Ya Baladi" and others. Please react to one of Diana's songs and I promise she will surprise you.

You should know that Dimash' videos on Gloria Wu's channel have been slowed down for copyright reasons. For Dimash' best performance of Autumn Strong I suggest you watch/react the Kiev concert version (wearing red tuxedo). It's a lot better and worth another reaction video!
Also Gloria Wu's translation is way off according to another native Mandarin reactor (his channel is Theportraitart), he gives a more accurate translation. He also mentions that Dimash sings in perfect Mandarin, making him forget during the song that he isn't even Chinese.

It really showcases the stunning purity of the last few notes on the original version in a very different way to the altered audio. To me, the altered audio sounds like his nose is blocked its a really odd effect on the sound from slowing it down. Obviously if you haven't heard the unaltered audio it probably isn't massively obvious, but once you've heard the original it really bugs your ears to hear the altered version haha. Or its just me being a weirdo. Ha.

About the show, all artists are well est. singers, (DQ was 1st ever unknown invited) & all actually supported ea. other, (no back 🔪 - LMAO). PLUS, the audience are the judges & they’re ALL singers too (same ones come back ea. week), so it was difficult for DQ 2 rank higher than some of the popular Chinese artists on the show (like ... imagine if a newcomer won over Barbara Streisand if competition was in 🇺🇸 ... make sense now).
After this season tho, they showered Dimash w/ awards & actually changed show rules (thus Jessie J won the following yr in 2018) as many left scratching their head at results week 2 week & final results too, (but diff culture I guess). So actually DQ won as it was the catapult for his career after videos went viral GLOBALLY (plus he was a Trail Blazer). 🤍🇺🇸dear

Another GREAT reaction--I've come to expect nothing less from you, Jacob! (Just as I can count on Dimash to always deliver! ;D ) I (once again) agree with you that the perfect tone was set by him with the careful selection from all the vocal tools that he can pull out out from his vocal toolbox (and at a moment's notice too), only choosing those techniques which reflected the somber mood, so muted and hushed (yet still so passionate) that a song like this demanded. As you insightfully pointed out, one example could be using an "even steady vibrato" helps accomplish this and I, for one, would have never thought of this! Fireworks would have been an inappropriate response for the longing and especially resignation here, and Dimash always, always, respects his audience, which can be seen so plainly in this entire video. He CARES about each audience, wanting to honor them as seen in many interviews and witnessed in his performances. Thank you for another INFORMATIVE reaction, my phriend!

One of my favourite things to find and enjoy is music that gives me chills and goosebumps. I was cruising TH-cam recently and discovered a Russian talent show contestant that did just that, with one of the best, most unique voices I've heard in many years. Her delivery was nothing short of magical and I searched out more and more and more, and...more chills.
I was stunned to find that the first performance I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 17 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French, English and Arabic.
The covers she performed on that show are very popular on TH-cam. Many TH-camrs publish reactions on these performances, which include the ethnic song "River" (in a new musical arrangement), "Blizzard", "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse", "Helwa Ya Baladi" and others.
