there's a good spot not too far from here, bit further down the river just before the first bridge that goes into bassests sweet factory been fishing it for years never failed.

Great to watch you on the Don, I fish it a lot, my favourite spot is the weirpool at top of clay wheels lane, I got what I'm certain was a sea trout about a pound and three quarters there on a lure. Some really big brown trout and chub aswell.

Thanks mate! Fished clay wheels a few times but not luck with chub or any half decent brownie. Just tiddlers and plenty of grayling!
Late evening is best time around dusk, it comes alive pal! A bit further upstream past the next deep pool I saw a fella pull a 6 pound barbel out aswell on that slow stretch. Love what you're doing and I'll keep an eye out for any further video's you put on 🖒

Great video, and lovely bit of river and going to have explore it. My brother in law spotted the video and is a massive Wednesday fan (season ticket holder). Well done on getting promotion too, what a way to do it. My son supports man utd and Wednesday (after is dad) and hasn’t stopped singing about the season you have had!
Loved the video. Great to see you doing something you good at. Joking.! The don not long ago was really polluted. Nothing could live in it. Once going home drunk i decided to wade across on my way. Fell over on the slippy rocks. As a pulled my hand out of water. Caught a salmon in my hand. It was a tin of jon west. Took it home and ate it for supper. True ! Keep it up. Look forward to more videos

Tight lines, Callum. Been known to do a bit of carp fishing myself.
I fish my local River Clyde here in Glasgow and catch anything from Salmon, Sea Trout, Brown Trout, Barbel, Pike, Roach, Dace, Flatties... the list is endless!!

Pro tip Callum: spray a drop of WD-40 on your lures or live bait, the fish love it 👍🏻. Keep the videos coming, love them 🎣 🦉

Couple of tips Callum.. Because trout have such hard mouths they bounce the hook out. You need a really soft tipped rod also you don't need a 14ft rod on the don. I use a little 8ft quiver tip rod which is ideal for scrambling about on the banks and in the river with and is soft tipped enough to stop the fish bouncing the hook out. Also use a wading stick, there's some deep holes and loads of rocks and boulders to fall over and into on the don
