- Another trip out to the local River Don recently. Using my Centrepin rod once again with some maggots. Looking to catch the elusive River Don chub! 3 different species caught on this trip so give it a watch!

Also, a bubble float with floating caster/ husk (maggot before turning into a fly) and greased line is an excellent way of fishing the shallow sections.

Been on the rivelin today, great small river sport for wild brownies. Got one about half a pound and a few smaller but really enjoyed it. The loxley has bigger trout in it, once had one about a pound and 3/4, I think the big ones were escapees from damflask in the floods of 2007. A lad told me today there's some big rainbows near malin bridge at the confluence of both rivers, probably escaped fish again. Happy fishing pal and keep uploading the sheffield vids! 🖒
I've only ever really done carp fishing and that bored me to tears! Is it possible to buy a single set up (rod, reel etc) to give float fishing and lure fishing a go out in the wild?

I fished that exact spot for years as a kid! Caught some big chub far bank under those trees. There’s a great spot down neepsend for grayling message me and I can let you know if you fancy making a video on those 👍
