Love the 392. Always the dream set up.
its a beautiful set up!
So awesome to see the IH drivetrain in it. Beautiful truck, tough stance, clean interior.👍
gotta love it!
This is the most beautiful model I have ever seen. I like the slanted back type of this Scout that makes it soooooo beautiful. I love this very much.
Awesome guys , looks so cool . Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦.
LOVE the original SCOUT center wheel, removable horn cover guys! Nice touch.
Good catch! We love it too!
patina. lol, I can hear the skin coming off his hands. in canada we call that surface rust. nice truck .thanks as always for posting.
LOL but better believe someone will pay top dollar for that surface rust.
I have a Traveller and that is a real beauty!
Great job men keep'em coming
Looks and sounds great 👍🏻. Awesome build as always 😀
An American in NZ for decades. My very last vehicle in USA was a 77 Traveler. Baby blue. What little money I had spare went to the gas and needed rust repair in the bed and drain well. Huge help from friends with a shop, wielding gear and experience. Body was very clean. Chev 350 and a poor conversion sadly. My cousin and uncle once got her running again after getting stranded and withstood laying in a foot of slush to make it happen. Tarp was better than no tarp...more like a swimming pool that way. I stood by as lifeguard. Good times.
Can’t believe y’all didn’t do a video of the sound of it running! Those 392’s got a mean purr to em! Cool truck though
We could've gotten the "392ci" engine but the dealer only had them with 304s in stock. Would've had to wait months for a custom ordered one, now a 1980 model, if we still wanted a SCOUT II or TRAVELALL. We didn't want to wait.
So neat. You guys are doing great work.
Love that it’s all ih
Are you guys going to do a video on the "Winchester" Traveler? Keep up the great videos and work guys. All the way up here in Alaska, trying to get these old iron 4x4's going, would love to meet up sometime.
Great stuff as always
My '79 SCIUT II came with and adjustable "roof rack". What I NEVER found out was if it was factory or dealer installed.
Man I’d love to have a scout. Probably never have the opportunity to have one. But I do have the redcat scout in 1/8 scale, and it’s my favorite RC crawler
Was the AC something you all did in house or did you collaborate with someone?
Nice 👍
That’s a badass rig! So far same direction as I’m going. Leaving the exterior original. What is the size of the tires? He said it in the vid but the size looks small compared to the description. 285/75/18 wont fit with 2.5” lift.
I really want a scout, it's killing me dude!
go get yourself one and join the fam!! let us know if you do!
Love it👍🏻
Thats Real Patina
What sound deadener do you like? Stick on or spray on?
How much for that conversion without swapping motors?
You are saying 2.5 inch lift kit but you are showing your shackles ... what length shackles? Cut and turn? What wheel spacers brand and size?
Same thing I want to know. Is it a 2.5 lift or 4” lift... tire comparison and shackles.
I have 285/70/17 sitting on the side of the house and waiting to the 2.5” lift. Hoping it’ll fit properly
Ending production of these great "family"of vehicles is STILL the WORST decision "IHC" ever made! Look how the SUV craze EXPLODED just a decade later. They missed out on HUGE profits from it even if they couldn't put out as many units as the "BIG THREE" and "AMC".
My Dad sold them in Morristown NJ 1978 to 1980 the ss 2 when so nice and the Terra pickup and Ralley Scout ll anything less is just a car a great 4x4 and u could get a Nissan Diesel
I want one Scout Traveler with a Nissan SD33 inline 6 cylinder diesel engine in it..
What a GREAT build, only thing I wouldn't have done is gone with the 392. Fun Factor? Sure. Gas Mileage? NOT SO MUCH. Easy to say. Could have gone smaller, like the 5/7 Hemi - 360 if you wanted to stay with Dodge, I would think that the Little 4.8 Gm would make plenty of FUN FACTOR Power and also save you GAS $$$. Just my opinion. Much like As wholes, everyone's got one...... sometimes two or three or in a Politicians case, a mouth.
What do you mean stay with dodge it’s a scout not a ram charger
He's probably referring to the Chrysler transmission it's running. @@wyattnyfeler7270
