I am a 64 year old man. I Started using bands several months ago. The results are incredible. I had high blood pressure, 160 / 80 I started exercising on a regular basis. As of yesterday my Blood Pressure is 116 / 70. I also have a lot more definition and more energy. I'm in the best shape of my life. Thanks for the video.
I had some bands from amazon already. I started following your vids about 3 weeks ago. I did power building for 4 years but fell off due to injury. I honestly feel no difference from weights to bands. I'm still just as sore and hit it just as hard. I'm giving it another month, if things keep progressing as they are, I'm getting rid of the gym membership. The bands have really opened up my mind on what fitness and training are. I'm not so 1 dimensional now. I appreciate all these videos man!
If you feel no difference you're not doing it right. Bands have constant building resistance from beginning to end. Most weights do not. Band are also a whole lot less stable, particularly at the top of the movement.
@@emmetkeane3474 depends. lack of stability means harder to isolate certain muscles but also activates more of the stabiliser muscles/smaller muscle groups. its the whole machines vs weights debate that machines dont activate stabiliser muscles and are therefore bad for performance based athletes, but it doesnt matter too much
Awesome training vids James, it's beyond me why no one else took bands seriously so far. The pumps are insane, youre literally forced to keep good form, zero risk of injuries, portable, cheap. Gyms are a thing of the past for me; a pull up bar + my bands is all I need.
Thanks James, I've watched a small handful of other videos from other vloggers, and I'm sure their intentions were good, I found yours to be the most professional, actionable and authentic. Keep up the great work.
I'm a recent convert. I was just messing about with new ones I bought and the pump and contraction was insane. Very glad I've found your videos - clear, and easy to follow. Keep em coming!
James, you explain it so well, that it makes perfect sense. Normally we do workouts, not reallly undestanding what are we targeting and what's the logic of that specific exercise. Thank you so much.
I've been doing bodyweight training for months and bought bands to add resistance. I'm really starting to find great value in your videos. Keep this up and you'll have a subscriber/customer for life
I'm super happy.I found your channel. I have resistant bands and I was looking for someone to show me the correct way to use them. I'm also going to purchase the Under Sun bands. They seem to be so much better than what I have now.
This stuff is super useful, I don’t know why it took quarantine for me to try resistance bands seriously. Used them plenty before, but never for the whole workout.
Hey James, I am just learning about RBT, and these videos are excellent. well explained, superb content (scientific, just the right amount), and well structured video. Thanks.
I just bought a whole set of resistance bands, I work 14 hours a day, I am not going to use the excuse of I don't have time to work out, I will start bringing a jump rope and my bands to work and start doing them during my breaks and lunch. Even when I get home I got an elliptical/rebounder/bob punching. I don't need a gym to get into shape, eventually I'll like some weights, but honestly a old coach of mine once said, if you can't do 100 clean push ups, and 200 clean body squats, 30 clean pull ups, you don't need to add weight on. I still live by those words. Granted I don't think I have ever got to those numbers. Hopefully this time will be the time, I'm 31, and it's not too late.
Love all the vids, I'm ex marine from UK and trained for 3 months with bands after watching your vidios and getting amazing improvements. Cheers James.
Should you do 4 sets of Preacher curls then move on to incline curls and so on, Or do you just do 1 set of each and repeat until all 4 sets are completed
Like a lot of people, I've switched to bands due to the lock down. Your videos are very informative. Please create a video on the Paloff (sp?) press and planks with bands to strengthen core and stabilizers.
Been doing the TA2 Build program now about 12 weeks and 3 weeks into the nutritional program , really starting to get results, no more gym for me , this training is exceptional and also a lot of fun.
I'm retired and 73 years old. I was big into powerlifting in my younger years up to approximately 55 years old when I discovered Soloflex. Liked it but when I retired and moved into a smaller place I needed something more compact. Been using resistance bands since 2013 but seemed to be unable to maintain or increase muscle mass. So it seems to me that bands do not increase muscle or is it I'm just to damn old and need to learn to deal with old age. I work out 3x a week one hour whole body workout and 3x doing abdominal and calisthenics
..I DID notice that quirk with reverse curls - had to use lighter bands for it myself. Also, using a PVC or steel pipe for these would avoid the bands chafing on your hands.

Hello my friend! Absolutely, resistance bands are just as effective as weights and have advantages. Undersun Strength Bands create a very unique kind of tension called VRT, or Variable Resistance Training. VRT more closely matches the natural strength curve of your muscles than weights, which means better muscular contractions and therefore more muscle-building benefits. As well as no joint pain and less risk of an injury. If you're interested in the muscle building resistance band set here is a link below. I haven't been able to get to the Y due to the covid situation. After circuit work and free weights, I got better results from TRX and have been considering buying a set. At 72, I'm only interested in the basic moves for general fitness and strength. I do pushups and core work to try to keep up. I had a stroke on Christmas day and was cleared by my doctor and the Y for full workouts by second week of Jan. Due to an earlier accident I don't have full range of motion in my right ankle. Can only do half squats. I walk normally though in spite of it. I'm down about 45 lbs overall. Now for my question: Can a bands workout be just as good in my case as TRX?

when it comes to resistance band training, is it more beneficial to do e.g. 5 x Full Body, or more of a 'bro split' chest, back, arms, legs, shoulders on separate days? or is it purely down to fitness experience?

It took you 15 minutes to explain something that should take 3 minutes. Seriously dude you need to start cutting out some of your filler talk and get to the point a little sooner. Other than this being a bit long winded the exercises and the explanations (once you get to the point) are really very good.
you gotta realize that he is making an instructional video. most people clicking on it, probably do not have as much knowledge as you might, regarding exercising, and bands in particular. now i do have a fair amount of knowledge, but i still like the length of the video. i want to know what is going on in his head about what he is doing, and why he is doing it. it gives me the ability to compare to what i do, and learn. if all he did was spend a few minutes doing the exercise, i wouldnt know what his purpose was, and whether it had a good application for my purpose. i would have no problem with an additional video (a 3-minute edit of this one), where he simply says "long head of biceps workout", tied the band and did the workout, etc.). that would be helpful if you simply want to review the video, to determine if you are doing it correctly, etc. but only as an addition to this video, not a replacement of it.
