    I just got mine and am enjoying experimenting with it. My machine was made by Breville, and I believe some of them are made by another company, but that may be just for the original Nepresso. Once I finished the 12 pods that came with my machine, I tried to find the pods locally but found out they can only be obtained from the company. When I finally placed my order (on a Friday night), they arrived Monday morning. I compare this machine to having a printer; as stated, thy make their money on the pods, like printer manufacturers make it on ink cartridges. For me, I plan to use this when I only have time for one cup of coffee or I want a specialty drink. Mine came with a frothed, so I do have some extra options. I really appreciate the tips given here for cleaning the machine, etc. Do order the recycling bag when you place your order; it’s free.

    • @error.418
      @error.418 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's not crema, though. It's aerated foam. They're produced via different methods which creates different texture and flavor. Crema is produced via carbon dioxide trapped in the coffee. The foam from a Nespresso is caused by the blender-like action of the spinning pod and aerated water.

I tried cleaning then rescaling and it still does it. Called customer service and they were amazing, Tried one more thing that didn’t work. They will send me a box specifically to ship the machine in for repair with the shipping prepaid. The repair time might be a little longer due to the pandemic, but she was very understanding. Very caring customer service. I have to make due with drip coffee for 3 or more weeks, and believe me, there is a big difference in taste! And I love the 14 ounce choice as well as the ability to choose the strength and underlying notes of the coffee.

    • @SkylarCarswell33

      Nespresso currently only sells their capsules from their own stores as they want to create a one on one personal experience with their costumers but the have many options online to help you out with that and only two days shipping when you purchase the capsules they come in a sleeve of 10 per kind and it really doesn’t range over $12 per sleeve which when you consider how much you spend on a cup of coffee is not a lot and you are getting a 100% coffee grind

    • @ApKNJ
      @ApKNJ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@josephbennett3482 Pods are available through Nespresso online, in their physical stores (I happen to live near one) and on Amazon. There is also some third-party selling a refillable pod now, but I'm not sure I trust it. And he did very clearly say in the video that the pods are where they make their money. By the way, according to the Nespresso rep in the BB&B, BB&B has never carried the virtuo pods.

    • @ApKNJ
      @ApKNJ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SkylarCarswell33 this rationale was why I finally got one of these. I was first put off by the price of pods and that they were only sold by the one company, but I finally decided that 1) the lattes it makes are as good as what I get at most coffee shops, and a lot cheaper and more convenient, and 2). The regular coffees it makes are a bonus for quick convenience. It did not replace my percolator for most morning coffee at home, but it did replace almost all my trips out for a latte. Plus it's much easier to use and clean than a traditional espresso machine. 3). I predict Nespresso will be in business for a while, and if they stop selling the pods while I still have a machine, I predict some third party will step in.
      And Justin is right, if you're a coffee craft expert, who will drink nothing but the best, you're not looking at one of these anyway.

    Nice job... overall, a very thorough overview. I own two of these machines. One was on my kitchen counter and the other on my desk at work. I have since started my own coffee roasting business so neither get use anymore but they served their purpose well and in the year or two I used them, never ran into a single issue. That’s not something I can say of any of the Keurig machines I had owned prior.
    For quick and convenient, these machines are great. If you’re more into subtle flavors and not against taking more time to brew an excellent cup, these machines are not for you. I used to drink these every day and now, I can’t seem to tolerate more than a sip or two before dumping it out.

      Taiel Az For espresso, I have a machine made by Rocket. That’s not in every person’s budget though. For coffee, I like pour overs. You can get a Hario V60 for under $20 and in 3-4 minutes, you have a great cup of coffee. For larger pots and convenience, I also have and enjoy the Breville Precision Brewer. That makes a pot of coffee (typical drip machine) but also have a pour over accessory for those very early mornings when you don’t want to put the effort in.

Proper espresso machine takes 30 minutes to heat up, never mind grinding, pressing, pulling, frothing if I make a cappuccino, and cleaning. It’s as good as you can get without spending the time to make a proper espresso.

I see so many people talking about how this machine makes "espresso" when it is not true at all, it is almost the same kind of coffee that u can get from a Moka pot which is not espresso either. To get espresso you need 9 Barr of pressure, which these appliances do not achieve. I can not understate how amazing my machine has been. I am a senior in high school, and I wake up every morning to make myself a nice drink that tastes just as good as what I would order from starbucks, for a fraction of the price and time. It takes 5 minutes to make my iced coffee with espresso at the max, and I'm ready to go! The only bad thing to come out of my machine has been that my mom also fell in love with it, and now has to buy her own when I move off to college! It's made my mornings easier, vastly cut down my calorie count, and has generally improved my mornings as a whole.
    One thing I think is underrated about Nespresso is the amount of quality control they have with their product. With Keurig, they have an abundance of options for different flavors and brands, but they as a company have no control over how those different flavors actually taste when made in the machine or just the "health" aspect of the product. Nespresso controls essentially every aspect of their product which, yes, increases the price (really not much, though), but vastly improves the quality of the brew and the ingredients inside of it. The machine is intuitive and easy to use and clean, and above all, makes a good brew.
    I wholeheartedly recommend this product to ANYONE wanting a fast, easy, and delicious coffee experience, NO MATTER your age! For people my age (late HS and college) STOP going to Starbucks and buy this! I used to go to Starbucks maybe 3 times a week at the most to get an Iced Caramel Macchiato, but now I can have one everyday, and an entire month's worth of Nespresso double espresso pods and vanilla coffee syrup costs as much as 1.5 weeks of going to Starbucks. Last thing: I think it says a lot about a product when an 18 year old kid is spending his afternoon writing a lengthy overwhelmingly positive review about it. That's how much I love this thing.
    *EDIT* I feel the need to make it clear that this product is AMAZING for its ability to make a good cup of coffee or espresso at its price point and its extreme ease of use and overall convenience. I would not endorse this product over a traditional espresso maker if you want to drink espresso by itself, or if you have the time and willingness to actually make a quality espresso each morning (or whenever you feel like it). If you're like me and you want to make Starbucks-type drinks with all the fixings, or if you only want-to-spend/have 3-5 minutes to make your coffee in the morning, this product is for you. If you're choosing between Keurig and Nespresso, keep doing your research and make your decision individually, not solely based on this comment or video! (Also, Amazon has AMAZING customer service and return policies, so maybe even order either the keurig or nespresso and try them out for a week or so and return it if you don't like it! I will say that our old Keurig lost its touch a year or so in, but the Nespresso is still going strong now that we've had it about 6 months.)

    What a great real world review. I get the appeal of convenience with these and Keurig, but the expense of the machines along with the ongoing high price of pods and capsules is a big negative. Not to mention the resources used to produce the capsules/pods and subsequent landfill waste. All for a mediocre coffee or espresso at best.
    I use and recommend an Aeropress along with a burr coffee grinder. Together they make wonderful coffee. I grind the beans fresh for each espresso like shot (I also only use for latte) or cup of americano coffee. Boiling the water, grinding the beans and brewing the espresso/coffee takes 5 minutes or less. And cleanup is just a rinse under the faucet. Great coffee, low expense, no waste and just a tiny amount of effort.

      Nespresso produce 0 waste a pods are recyclable and recyclable bags are free. Also the coffee in the pods are high end and not just any coffee bean is used. Absolutely no oxygen touches the coffee in production until they are punctured by the machine to brew.

      futureace One Hi, I’ve recently bought my 3rd Delonghi Nespresso Pro machine (ea. time I buy a better machine with more functions). I use a particular brand of ground coffee & refillable coffee pods, which allows convenience, cheaper pods & sustainability (original style pods). Plus the machine can be used as an urn. I have a really tiny kitchen, no kettle taking up space for which I’m so grateful. Enjoyed this review too.

    Simply love Nespresso. I have two machines at home (original & vetuo), one at the office (vertuo) and another one (citiz) for traveling. And 6 Nespresso accounts just to be able to order capsules from the different countries where I spend longer time per year (one account not working worldwide is quite uncomfortable actually). Overall, I could’t imagine my days without Nespresso! ❤️

    I was n Bed, Bad & Beyond the other day, and out of sheer boredom I let the Nespresso rep run through her spiel about the Nespresso lines. After thinking how Nespresso tries to rope you into whatever coffee they have on tap, I was pretty sure I’d never buy this product. Until your video, I didn’t even consider how much Nespresso was gonna soak customers for the pods. Your video completely convinced me I’d never buy one.

    It’s the printer and ink concept ( sell you the printer for next to nothing and gouge you on the ink) we managed to figure that one out. I reuse the aluminum pods and buy aluminum foil caps on Amazon. I can make my own custom flavours. I can make about twenty pods in about twenty minutes. A buck twenty a pod!? Hahaha! Not in my lifetime. Thanks for the great review!

  • @synthialester7605

    Just want to mention that the machines from both lines actually do create the proper pressure to make proper espresso/coffee with real creama. I grew up in a coffee shop and was used to certain coffees. But I now own both an Original machine and a Vertuo because they genuinely do produce the same quality as a coffee shop machine. Their Original machines are even rated at a higher bar pressure than most coffee shops even use. I am lucky to have a store near me where the staff actually knows what they're talking about and the amazing work the company puts into the coffee is outstanding.

      Great comment/s. Here in the UK our coffee shops start out making rich, full-bodied coffee for Cortados, Flat whites etc but as they change staff, the coffee gets drowned in milk! The only good coffee is an independent run by a Colombian guy who uses the same machine as the chains that make sloppy coffee! There are virtually no Colombians in the UK but I'm very lucky!!!!

      @error.418 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's not crema, though. It's aerated foam. They're produced via different methods which creates different texture and flavor. Crema is produced via carbon dioxide trapped in the coffee. The foam from a Nespresso is caused by the blender-like action of the spinning pod and aerated water.
