    I have seen over 3000 live shows in my 6 Decades on this planet - OSIBISA turned in one of my all-time Top 3 shows at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney Australia in 1974… they were on fire; awesome doesn’t even begin to describe the power, passion, and vibe of that concert: the crowd was nuts (in a really good, happy way…), singing along, grooving, dancing everywhere, and throwing flowers on the stage… the band loved the response and rocked even harder…This was a real music highlight in my life…!!

    I saw them in Bialystok Poland Gwardia stadion in 70s , my friend RIP Marek Polecki was able to get drummers sticks by fighting few thousands who turned out that day .
    Great show , great memories.

    This music brings back memories of another life in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. This is some of the best music that was played on many of the audio systems in Leighton Barracks. Every room had thousands of dollars of audio equipment that we used to escape our surroundings at the end of the day.

    Great audio but the photo is deceptive - not the original Beautiful Seven line up of the band who are playing the music in 1972 which comprised of three Ghanaians - Teddy Osei (saxes, flute, percussions, lead and background vocals), Mac Tontoh (trumpet, flute, percussions and background vocals), and Sol Amarfio, (drums), Nigerian, Loughty Lasisi Amao (saxes, percussions, incantations, lead and background vocals), and three West Indians - Wendel Richardson (guitars, lead and background vocals), Spartacus R, (bass, percussions and background vocals) and Robert Bailey (keyboards)

    • @rockconnoisseur76
      @rockconnoisseur76 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Santana was already an established group by the time Osibisa was formed. They formed in London in late ‘69. Woodstock took place in August of that same year. So the chances that Osibisa had any direct influence on Santana is doubtful. Doesn’t take away from them being a great band though!
