Watch closely, you're about to experience a Nocturne Moment. Webster defines the Nocturne Moment as a moment where enemy boss RNG overwhelms the fight of an otherwise perfectly winning player, causing them to act in an illogical, party-destructive manner. Like a Nocturne fight. Nocturne moments are unpredictable. But they always go bad. If they had their own category, Nocturne moments would be the third cause of resets, followed only by 2) Lack of buffs and 1) Using the wrong Magatama. It's a fact. Now let's see how the Nocturne moment affects a Persona player.
Persona player: What did you just.... wait, heh heh, I'm playing Persona! Ha ha ha! *sips coffee* Demi-fiend: Wait! Where are you going? This is the perfect time to throw your life away!
I had battled him for 25 odd minutes before he did his random ailment skill, charmed my Uber pixie and she used Mediarahan on him, effectively resetting the fight… I sat there for a few minutes contemplating if I should just reset the fight and decided to keep going. I ended up beating ol Luci in the end, so I consider that beating him twice 😂👍🏼
@Royal Messiah Yes, but that doesn't mean Demi-fiend didn't actually win. This misconception of Lucifer holding back against Demi-fiend is dumb and makes no sense.
This Battle.....omg this battle, It happened that i was buffed as fuck and he was debilitated, but he just press turned the hell out of me, he took advantage of the game mechanics so fucking good, and he focused me with those criticals... i had a beast of a team comp, masakados, Pierce, freikugel, i thought I was gonna cheese him like Kagutsuchi. My jaw dropped down to the fifth kalpa.
That is one difficult fight. I remember being shocked the first time I fought him and he was charming my healers to fully heal himself multiple times. Something I found useful was to fuse demons to create a Daisoujou who has Debilitate and who will later learn Prayer. Then you will have a demon who can remove status effects and fully heal your entire party simultaneously, who can debuff the boss, and who is immune to status effects. Also, if you max out the Demi-Fiend's strength and luck, then Deadly Fury (obtained from the Satan magatama) with Pierce will be better than Freikugel against this boss because you will regularly get criticals with it. Combine that with Focus, maxing attack buffs and defense debuffs, and you'll be doing extremely high damage. It also helps if you have a Kali with Pierce, Focus, and her strength and luck maxed out. Deathbound will then get a lot of criticals and it can hit twice in a single turn. Maxing out her luck will also cause her to evade many of the boss' ice attacks that would result in an extra turn because of her weakness. Having the Masakados magatama will also help in voiding the ice attacks (which target the entire party) to counter the incidents in which Kali gets hit so the boss won't get an additional turn. As for the last party member, I would suggest another demon with both Debilitate and some ability that heals the entire party. I like use a Skadi who has Mediarama and her magic maxed out. Skadi has a resistance to some of the status effects the boss will use and at that magic stat Mediarama will come close to fully healing your party and you won't run the risk of the boss fully healing himself should Skadi become charmed. Just in case anyone reading this isn't yet aware, maxing out a stat for a demon isn't all that hard if you wait until a demon is level 80 to fuse it with a Mitama. You will get much bigger stat boosts that way. Getting a lot of lucky tickets to win skill boosting incense can also help, so buying items you won't use can actually be of benefit to you in this game.

As much of a trope as it is, nocturne is the dark souls of rpg. Not because it's hard, but because it's actually relatively fair in the sense that any bullshit you can pull off to completely obliterate an ennemy ennemies can do to you too, ennemies feel like they're fighting for their lives and actually trying to fuck you up. What you're dealing with is just what regular ennemies go through when they cross path with demi fiend on the way to the savepoint and get obliterated in a turn. And the run you win is just the equivalent of that time where you get a back attack and get murdered without having the opportunity to do that. Now though, imagine if the player had access to beast's eye =p
@@yekkub9425 Fairness doesn't make for a great power fantasy. Chess is a very fair game, if you play chess against magnus carlsen you're going to lose almost immediately. Videogames are rarely fair, they typically heavily favor the player, giving them more tools and stronger tools than what the ennemies typically work with. Or limiting drastically the scope of what the ennemies can do. Designing a fair encounter that doesn't feel like trash is actually very challenging. And in most encounter if your odds are 50/50 that would be unnaceptable because you are expected to go through many of them. So I'm not saying that things being fair and symmetrical in many aspects is necessarily good, not everyone is going to like it, but it does create a unique vibe where it feels like everyone is fighting for their lives no matter how weak or powerful. I think it's neat even if it doesn't always evoke positive emotions, but not all games are obligated to make you feel exclusively positive things.
@Royal Messiah You can also overlevel to be basically invicincible in dark souls, they're rpg, you're actually helping the comparison there lmao. But also I don't see how grinding invalidates the difficulty of a game, it's like saying a game insn't hard because there is an easy mode, grind in rpg is pretty much a soft difficulty selection option. Easy mode is when you grind a lot to be overleved, then you can do challenge run where you try to be as low level as possible and normal mode is how you end up naturally by running through the game without going out of your way to grind. Nocturne is a difficult game because it still keeps you on your toes against normal ennemies and require a lot of strategy against bosses if you aren't grinding. If I compare that to something like final fantasy games (which I enjoy a lot too) where random encounter are pretty much free and bosses outside of optional bosses or challenge runs don't ask you a profound grasp on the game mechanics you see a difference in design. All that being said that's pretty much irrelevant since you didn't get my point at all. My point was about how the game mechanics were very symmetrical letting opponent use the same trick on you as you use on them, it wasn't about difficulty but about the vibe of fairness where you're not given freebies.

Yeah in general with SMT upgrading your offense is usually one of the last things you ought to focus on. With how quick and easy the series can just say 'F*ck you in particular ' you should usually focus more on buffing your defenses and evasion first. Especially if you don't know a bosses resistances and you've buffed only your attack and you chose to attack with something the boss Reflects.

The Aciel boss... On medium difficulty sets the entire party to 1 HP and then still gets a turn. Better hope he doesn't attack the MC!
Me watching this moments after pressing confirm on the psn billing screen
It's quite fair.
What did you EXPECT to happen when going up against Lucifer?
You didn't have any kind of defense buff did you
Demi Fiend must have said soke nasty stuff about Lucifer's mom to get that amount of targeting
Fantastic fucking clip 10/10
Me when I don't use War Cry
Are you not debuff him enough?
I did 2 PS2 playthroughs. Normal and hard. Both TDE with 40 STR and 30-ish vit. I've never reached level 90 and this literally never happens to me. You got like 2 end game demons right there. How? Did you stack rakukaja and debilitate?
I hate fighting this boss, because you know he's just playing with you, he can take you out any time he wants
I've fought this guy like thirty times and this has happened at least ten of them lmao
This is why we run endure
Looks like someone didn't spend 30 minutes buffing and debuffing
When you are against God, it's accurate to be unfair.
Homie didn't buff his defense
I remember when I played this game with a No Fusion Challenge on top of it...
This was the one thing that NEVER needed to happen.
But the game, Lucy in particular, LOVES to be a dick to you like this 😅
Just resist allmighty 😂
Should've gotten the last magatama man
FE players and SMT players, being bullied by bullshit RNG:
ಥ‿ಥ (〒﹏〒)
🤝
You can almost hear the gba critical sound effect
The mechanic where the game ends if the MC dies is awful I hate that the brought it back for V
It's kind of Bad and good in my opinion, but I understand your opinion. I Hope V launch Playstation or XBOX I still didn't played
I mean in SMT it makes some why it happens.
They are demons, they're only assisting you because you've negotiated a contract for their assistance. Once you die that contract is null and void so the Demons no longer care about your sorry ass.
Should've dodged.
Neither High King nor Lucifer's normal attack can miss, ever
@@kichiroumitsurugi4363 honestly? sounds like a lack of motivation to me.
@@kichiroumitsurugi4363 Pikachu would dodge that.
You need higher defence
Were most of your stats focused vitality?
40 the maximum In everything
@@xandymasamune even luck?
@@Thegameslayer2yt Yeah this was my Last battle in the game to get the Platinum, and there is a trophy that need to have Demi fiend with 40 in Lucky,St,Vi,Ag,magic
@@xandymasamune oh cool, I'm actually playing through the game right now, do you have any tips for the Lucifer fight
@@Thegameslayer2yt Bring a Demon with ALL types of buffs, and try tu have demons with Pierce, you can get this skill from a Guy that sells a Ghirimekhala with this skill in the 5th Kalpa
ah my party in nocturne
That's just plain fucked up lmao.
I have no words for this.
SMT I swear
was rakukaja up too?
Yep 4 stacks of rakukaja but Luci Just used high king and got a huge crit damage 😔
@@xandymasamune *the fuck!?*
Is this some Hardtype shenanigans? I've never seen Lucy lay down this much damage even on hard mode.
No is not the hardtype mod, is the PS4Remaster Edittion, the PS4 version is the version with Raidou and I remember some players saying that the version with Dante Lucifer fight is easier than the Raidou version, I think this why Lucy attack was really strong
@@xandymasamune Using Dante doesn't make Lucifer easier by nerfing him, it's just that Dante is better suited for fighting him.
Shit like this is why I have endure slotted. Can't jump scare me if I get a 2nd chance lol.
That's assuming they don't have endure, for all we know it got activated earlier in the fight
Just a normal +400 damage critical
Looks good to me 👍
Just beat the game got so salty after losing to him the first time I went back grinded for a few hours till I had a lvl 99 dante, Belzebub and megaton lol
my counter argument: Matador
Matador’s easy though
@@TheBrutalSax only if you got tornado magatama
used tarukaja instead of rakujaja, fatal mistake
You should have used someone with Fog breath dude
Should have spammed rakakaja
Should've cast Rakukaja and Tarunda some more. Just saying
Tbh your fault for going against Lucifer
Does nobody run endure
(This is a joke btw I know the video is satirical)
you should have used rakukaja 🚬
