GREAT review JIm. I'm ordering some of his tools right now. Thanks for the clarity of the handles.

Thank you Lane. I'm going to do a follow up in a couple weeks on a few different Thompson Tools and give a run down on how they hold up under steady use.

You are a great salesman.......you did an awesome job on the video by the way.
When I was at your place, you gave me two sheets showing Doug T's tools. I already have 5 or 6 of his scrappers, and gouges....I really thought I would just toss those advertisements but that would have been rude. So, I packed them home. I looked them over--------well I received my latest Dog Thompson tool. It is a 5/8 inch "spindle" gouge. Wow what a tool. i also got the engraved handle, too cool. There will be a video out on the unboxing. I am thinking for the both of us, a 12 step program of some kind????
    Be well

Thank you for your kind words. I guess we'll have to set up a 12 step program for turners. It was great having you down and it has inspired our small clubs members to new projects. Thanks again for sharing with us. And enjoy the new tool! Jim

Hi Jim, Thank you for that great review, I am just getting started in wood turning and wanted to see if you could recommend some tools that I should have for bowl turning, Lathe is on the way, I have no tools yet.

Thank you for the kind words Lee! I would begin with a 3/8 and 1/2 v-grove bowl gouges. I would also encourage you to give Doug Thompson a call. He is a great guy and will be more than glad to walk you through the progression and tools to begin with. By all means buy quality tools! It really makes a huge difference.
