if anybody wants some billet hood spacers I made for and took off my jeep. let me know. I would have given them to 2A if I would have known he was going to do this
I had no idea man! I’ll pin this comment so people can see it. Hopefully they can help out another viewer 😎
Are you selling spacers?
@@Yotapuga already got rid of them
chased heat soak for a year wrapped fuel line, installed timed relay on electric fan, insulated fuel line, what the final cure for misfire on cylinder 3 was I found fuel pressure fade after I turned off the xj,replaced the fuel pump problem solved on my 2001 xj
Really 😳 I would of never guessed that! Thanks for that info if anybody is battling it they should troubleshoot that too!
Good info. Good write up. Thank you.
I installed the same fuel rail shield, didn't think about the hard line great tip. It solved my heat soak issue on my daughter's XJ. Great video!
Glad that it fixed her issue! I hope it does the same for us and I’ll have an update post or video when we do our first hot weather trail run.
Btw I seen 2 in jeep sleeping setups that could work for you! I’ll have a post about both soon once I get more info 😊
@@2AOverland Thank you! I look forward to seeing
lol Awesome paint booth.....love it. Great install video!
Thank you so much 😊👍🏼 it gets the job done thanks for watching Maggie!!
Hi Guys, I sent you an email that's listed on your site. I'm not sure if you use it but I just asked a couple of questions there.
I have trouble with the heat from the header melting my motor mount bushings. I have the hood spacers so I'm going to try header wrap and see how that works.
After watching you put this kit on I'm going to try that. Really looks good 👍
Damn that’s some radiating heat! I hope the header wrap and fuel injector/rail kit helps too. Thanks for watching!
Awesome man this will help a lot when I do mine. 👍🏽🤙🏼
Good! 😊 when you do it let me know the results!
Hood spacers make a Huge difference!
Thanks for watching! Can’t wait to see the difference on a trail run in the warmer weather!
i live in socal so i fight the heat too the hood spacers hood vents i got on help alot too i think im gonna get that shroud too
Sounds like a plan! Let me know if it fixes your issues 😎
@@2AOverland will do thanks for the vid ill be using it for reference
👍👍
Thank you for watching!
upgrading to 4 hole fuel injectors also helps.(or 12 hole injections)
Great tip! Thanks for watching! Did you install 4 hole injectors? If so what did it do to your gas mileage?
Agreed. I’ve never had heat soak with 4 hole injectors. It also seemed to help mileage 1-1/2mi per gallon
4 hole injectors was a good upgrade for me. The throttle response was much better. All I can say about MPG is that at least it didn't get worse for me 🤷♂️
Good to know 🤔 I might have to do that upgrade soon
You guys are selling me on this! Lol I’ll start looking into it for a future upgrade
So would u recommend the spacers over the hood vents??
If you could do both I would go that route but if I had to choose between the two I’d go hood vents
@@2AOverland ...ok, thank u. I will do both.
Would it be possible to add the heat shield without taking out the injectors? I just put in new injectors and would rather not do that whole job again if not absolutely necessary.
You would have to cut it up and slide it in there between the injectors but I would suffer again and pull the injectors 😬
I cut mine up and slid it. I didn't want to remove injectors
Wheres the link to the hose removal tool?
Sorry about that! Here’s the link to the exact kit I have. I also added to the description of the video.

I have often wondered if the hood vents contribute to cps failures by allowing water down on it.
I honestly don’t know 😬 in theory it could but being in az we don’t get much rain. So I’ll have to be careful at the car wash then
any additional information on temp differences
None yet. It seems to be venting more air so it’s a little cooler. On our way to overland expo west we didn’t hit 210 til we were almost there. We drove about 170 miles
im not a fan of hood spacers on the XJ at all. id rather cut a new vent port by the cowl and add a better E fan w/swtich.
Different strokes for different folks 🤷🏻♂️
@@2AOverland yeah nothing wrong with it. thats whats great about XJ's.
What size is that fuel line wrap??
3ft 😎
I need diameter please?
3/4in inner diameter. Here’s a link to exactly what I got
