This sauce is really light in texture which is why I love it so much. I don't like a heavy gloopy cheese sauce. It also reheats really well the next day.
I am loving the snappy intro music. I subscribed. Leek powder? That sounds amazing. I love leeks. I love what you are doing here with the channel. The starch really gave it a nice thickness. Nice job on this.
I don't know why TH-cam is only just this week showing me your videos. But maybe I should be happy because I am enjoying binging your back catalog, as it were. 😆 This sauce looks simply delicious. If I make some silken tofu this week I'm immediately going to make it!
Omg this is amazing!!!! I only added fresh basil to this. I used mustard powder and eliminated the white pepper and hot pepper!! This is sooo sooo amazing
Nice recipe! And what a nice, professionally done video! I recently invented a vegan cheese sauce with soft tofu, but I added a little bit of cashews for richness. Yours looks great! I may very well have to try it.
i’ve made this a few times now and i love it! I actually made it with firm tofu cause that’s all i had but i can’t wait to try with soft. This video also really cheered me up thank you :)
This looks great! Really sad the phytoestrogen in soy gets so maligned while the actual estrogen in dairy, which increases cancer risk, gets completely ignored. Thanks for sharing
I have a vitamix that heats as well as blends, is it still necessary to cook this recipe? Is the idea just to get it thick and creamy? Next question, is this a sauce to use for mac n cheeze? New subscriber, love your presentations, plus your voice is soothing!
Thanks for your kind words. Yes, I think it would thicken in your vitamin if it was able to heat it. It would work for Mac and cheese I think. It has sort of a light texture. If you like a sauce that is heavier, I like to use Jill McKeever's oat based and red pepper recipe. Especially if you make a baked Mac and cheese.
You can certainly leave it out. It just adds a bit of umami flavor. If you have a vegetable stock powder or better than bullion vegan soup paste that would be a good alternative.

Thanks. I grow a bunch of leeks in my garden every year - freeze some and dry some. The dried leeks make a great powder for cooking.
Thank you so much for the recipe. I really appreciate the time spent in making this video.
My pleasure 😊
your channel is absolutely amazing and helpful! happy to hear you're vegan. i hope the channel grows a lot!
Thanks so much. I appreciate you watching.

Thanks so much. I appreciate it. I'm planning new videos as soon as I can free up some time. Stay tuned!
Yum! I am going to make this for baked Mac & Cheese, vegan of course.
Awesome. Let me know how it turns out.

That sounds good.

Thanks. I do like cashew based creamy sauces and cheeses too. This one is a bit lighter if you are trying to cut down on calories.

Wonderful! I do like this too. So light and creamy.
YESS, I have all the ingredients! Can't wait to try this!!
Awesome. Let me know how it turns out.
Great video, I will try this!
Thanks
Definitely making this today. Thanks so much for sharing. ❤
You are so welcome!
You had me at WFPB. Subbed. ❤
Welcome aboard!
This looks wonderful! A must try!
Thanks. Please let me know how it turns out.

You are so right. Thanks for watching.
I am going to make this without the nutritonal yeast. I have a sensitivity to nutritional yeast. Thank you
Please let me know how it turns out. Is there something else you substitute for the yeast to get the cheesy flavor?
@@ThePotThickens I have just been using all the spices you use with lupini beans , but super excited to try the tofu, I also use cashew powder.
nice video. What do yout think would happen if i skip the tapioca starch? I want to make this really light. Thanks for posting
It would not thicken when cooked. You need a bit of starch for that.

Thank you!!!
Would I be able to make this into a broccoli cheddar soup?
That would be delicious!
How important is the miso paste? I can’t find it in my area.
You can certainly leave it out. It just adds a bit of umami flavor. If you have a vegetable stock powder or better than bullion vegan soup paste that would be a good alternative.
Would firm tofu work? Maybe just come out thicker?
I haven't tried. I think it may be ok if you blend it really well. I think the danger would be that it would come out a little bit grainy.
I hate when the inside of my vitamix have a sticky powder on the side
Yeah! Me too. Thanks for watching.
