"Pick Me" is usually used against women who appear to make their decisions based on what men would like. Examples being "I'm just one of the guys, I love football and beer" and "I hate the color pink, it's so girly" and at the worst end of the spectrum "feminism is harmful and I disagree with it." I think most women go through a "Pick Me Phase" earlier in life, like mine happened in middle school for example. It becomes a little embarrassing when it's an adult woman with these behaviors. It's important to note that a woman genuinely liking football and disliking the color pink is not inherently "Pick Me" behavior. It becomes "Pick Me" behavior when the woman puts these preferences on a pedestal, implies she's more sophisticated than "other girls" for not being traditionally "girly." The underlying issue is that "girly" things are so looked down upon by society already to the point where women feel the need to distance themselves from those "girly" things to be taken seriously. It's actually a very complex issue, but a lot of people just consider "Pick Me" girls/women to be assholes when really we're all just victims of the patriarchy, yada yada, I could go on all day. All that being said... I have no idea why a bride wearing a rainbow dress to her own wedding would be "Pick Me" behavior. She's clearly not doing it to seek the validation of men... duh. A "Pick Me" bride would probably be more like the type to wear converse under her dress, or to pick a more casual white dress from a thrift shop claiming that she's "smarter and more level-headed than all the women out there who spend their money on something stupid like a wedding dress." I hope this soap box was informative!
Hey i'm french and i've always undurstood "Pick me" we're women acting a way to get attention on themselves Evry tome ,mostly men's attention Ö Not necesseraly by acting menly but more like acting a way to put m'en on the light on a very superficial way Like they'd say "sée how your muscles are so Big" or "i'd to be a stay at home woman, raise your children and cook for you my entire life" then wearing really short skirts, very pink pink acting liké a barbie girl 😅😅
Just because someone wears a converse under her dress, doesn't make her a "pick me" girl. Actually it's probably the opposite, she is not trying to be sexy for the male gaze? Maybe she wants to be comfortable? I am confused with your comment.
For the library "activities" story, people really need to learn how to mind their own business. I would just see it, then keep walking. Unless there's like a weapon or threat to someone, I will embody NYC Subway etiquette...
FYI Sex outside of marriage is illegal in the UAE and the couple would be arrested for doing that there unless they were tourists in certain districts. (And if they were outside of those districts, they'd still be punished.). I'm not even sure married couples can hold hands with each other in public. For that reason, I'd say NTA for saying something. The picture thing though? He is probably used to file complaints against people and providing evidence to get them arrested and prosecuted. 😞 And that is a much bigger asshole move than the one you guys think he pulled.
Honestly Sean is one of the few Christians I'd feel safe around. For years they've caused harm to many and don't take accountability for their actions. He's inclusive and doesn't hate based on culture, race, gender identity and sexuality. Sean also actually gets mad and calls them out on their bullshit and terrible behaviors, most Christians don't do this and don't care.
Yes exactly. In what world would the gf not have her best friend at her wedding? Why would he be the person controlling if the friend came or not either, definitely controlling behaviour trying to isolate her from her friends
The one with the wedding dress made me so mad! Never EVER tell somebody to show themself less proudly! That person probably doesnt realize, that finding and accepting your sexuality (when ur lgbt+ and not in the right environment) can be a fucking hard time and really mess with you and how amazing and healthy it is for someone to be proud of it and not ashamed. Let her celebrate the way she wants! But also..... I'm not sure, but I THINK, you guys didn't have the right definition of a pick me either.... 😅 To my mind, it's more like... you're trying to make yourself the center of attention all the time and make everybody follow your rules...😅 like... yes, changing yourself in order to do that CAN be a part of it, but I don't think what josh said was the complete definition... still, it's WILD to tell a soon to be bride to not make herself the center of attention...
I haven't finished the episode yet but I keep seeing people talk about pick mes A pick me girl is basically a women who sides with men always even going as far as to harm other women such as Siding with men when they are creepy or putting women down instead of telling them it's wrong to talk that way A more harmful side of this can be setting women up for abuse or lying about the women so she can't get support or telling an abuser where his victim is to gain favor with him I want to add men can be pick mes to but it's far more rare
Nah cuz theres a couple at my school who did IT in the library.... This video in my recommended was a little too real. highschool. there were kids who did IT during a legit school lockdown
Also for the last story, why would the girlfriend not want her friend at the wedding and who said the guy got to decide that? Lmao. What’s next, not inviting her parents to the wedding either?
This guy, who is so offended by bodies doing body things, is studying to be a doctor. I hope he becomes a medical examiner and never works with living people.
24:20 AITA For Moving Home Dude got in his feelings and started fantasizing out loud, and now doesn’t want to own up. I love men. I love y’all. But here’s a true thing, PR has EVERYone confused. Because we aren’t the romantic ones, you are. I believe he was around the mother of his child every day, watching her nurture his baby, and from an abundance of emotion, spoke. He wasn’t sure, so he wasn’t explicit. But, he was totally considering getting back together in some form or fashion. Looking into his kid’s eyes for the first time shook his world. That fact is to his credit. He just needs to learn to recognize and to be careful of what he commits to when in a highly emotional state.
"Pick me" is a person who generally puts their own gender/sex down for the validation of the opposite sex. However, guy pick me's and girl pick me's are are a little different. Girl pick me's tend to be more of what i described above and guy pick me's tend to be guys who lean closer to the "im so much better than your boyfriend blah blah blah"

This was extremely informative! Thank you so much for sharing and clarifying that the bride was DEFINITELY NOT a pick me! 😊❤️

@@kinae5067 Yes! Like a "I'm a cool no dramas girl" "not like the other girls" type of person!
I am proud to say I have never ever had that phase😌😌

You know who would be the best to have on the show actually? Shayne from Smosh.

Story 1: Op hasn’t seen the worst of it. I’ve seen worse in high school.
I looooved how sean squared with the listener that left that abhorrent comment. Man i missed sean! 😁

My wedding dress was actually a top and skirt. The top was dark blue and the skirt was flame orange with a fish tail back.

I feel this in my bones. Nailed it.
John's comment on the guy wanting to isolate his gf is so accurate, I didn't realize that
Glad the bf showed his true colors

Story 1: damn i feel like cuddling is the step between holding hands and a quick kiss in terms of pda, so pretty tame and normal
The library. It's a public place. If OP didn't like what they saw, OP could leave.
I'm so happy that I became a Patreon! 🌹
Also, you made it guys: BEIJOS DO BRASIL!!!!!!!!! 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
Yay!!! Welcome to the Patreon Fam ❤️❤️

You know what’s tacky and that OP would’ve probs been okay with, a trump or a maga themed wedding
I haven't finished the episode yet but I keep seeing people talk about pick mes

you guys are the best
Pick me girl will put down other women to make them look "better" or more like one of the guys.
Nah cuz theres a couple at my school who did IT in the library.... This video in my recommended was a little too real. highschool. there were kids who did IT during a legit school lockdown
You’re on TT and never heard the saying “not my monkeys, not my circus”? What?
Also for the last story, why would the girlfriend not want her friend at the wedding and who said the guy got to decide that? Lmao. What’s next, not inviting her parents to the wedding either?
Ok now I'm on TH-cam
14:36 guys please

I get some incel vibes from the first story OP...
I use not my monkeys, not my circus all the time
Not a pick me. People are using words they don’t understand.
Sadly the pope seems to flip-flop a lot when it comes to the LGBTQIA+
