I'm Chinese-Indonesian, and the video games bit is too true. Literally no asian parent has ever wanted to just TRY video games. Even if you were a kid and you invited your dad for some reason for a co-op session, he'd just be sitting there completely clueless on how to do things, not even after you give him a run-down of the basics. They'll forever see video gaming as a silly waste of time, and us growing up in this generation, they'll never understand that video games and their existence are so much more than they think.

Yes my father is like this and my mom isn't. Neither are Asian, but my dad is an immigrant from South Africa and my mom just is ... ancestrally American? Hahah. So anyway yeah, I feel that's a common thing with immigrant parents to want to provide for their children and not have them work. My mom worked all through high school and college so I thought that would be expected of me, but it was a big issue because my dad didn't want me to... I didn't end up with a job until senior year because of that.

So anyway yeah, I feel that's a common thing with immigrant parents to want to provide for their children and not have them work. My mom worked all through high school and college so I thought that would be expected of me, but it was a big issue because my dad didn't want me to... I didn't end up with a job until senior year because of that.
