You left out the Compliment Fisher: The cook, usually a grandma, who says their food is "not so good", but she actually wants you to just disagree and say no no it's so good.
AmusedAlyssa lol Ik how u feel. My mom made me write out the multiplication table from 1 to 12 then told me to memorize them. About an hour later, we go out to get groceries and while she was driving, she tested me multiplication.
I have a similar story where I was told To watch this little cut kid. And my friends were bad with her and I was the best with her. So when I was eating it wold usually take bout 30 mins but I just got power and I was eating in like 5 mins and so then I took care of that kid .
Holy Fork Selena C ***** You're not supposed to stick your chopsticks vertically into your bowl, because it resembles incense sticks burnt in front of your ancestor's graves. According to Chinese superstition it's a very bad omen. I was reprimanded when I was younger for doing that.

fun fact: slurping the noodles in noodle soups is actually very welcome (as far as i know in japan) since this way, the cook recognises that the person who eats it really likes it :D
+DJ Sapien Your comment is funny (and might have a point), but he actually reminds me of him too! I wouldn't say he looks like Jackie Chan, but he does remind me of him.

Come on double dipping is bad, not sure if its a southern custom, but in hk we have 公筷 literally public chopsticks on the table which you can use them to pick up food from the dish than switch to your own chopsticks and eat it from you bowl.
Lol my younger brothers are the kind of people who say "Oh, don't eat that, I want it!" So I leave it alone, but they end up getting too full to eat it ;P
Chinese are very courteous. They insist on paying bills when they eat out. They insist food or drinks on others. I would consider those as good and courteous manners.
Double-dippiing? My wife goes NUTS when she sees you guys using your OWN chopsticks when helping yourselves from a serving dish! She always makes sure that there are enough serving spoons or a set of chopsticks for each item on the table. If not, we use the opposite ends of our own chopsticks to serve ourselves. If we come to Flushing and she catches you, expect a (motherly) b***h-slap upside your face. :-) Oh, and we love all your shows, seriously.
I love double dipping but I dip it on one side, eat it, then dip it again on the other. I find it gross when people double dip with the same side they ate from.
I call The Food Insister The Dumper. There will be a few remaining pieces of a dish left and my mother will dump those pieces on my plate without asking even though I don't want any more because I'm getting full.
The food insister is actually a way for adults or younger kids to show respect and care. It's a must-do whenever there are senior citizens during meal times.
I'm definitely the fear factor enthusiast. Actually my family is. I love when we fight for chicken liver, heart, brains and legs!! Oh god! The only thing my bother gets at every Christmas is the head of the fish. My dad is the slurper, mum is the insister. Watching your videos sometimes makes me wonder if I grew up in an Asian family or not, because when you talk about family traditions they are 90% accurate... and I live in Hungary. :D
My mom is the food photographer If someone already took a bite before she takes a picture she will shout so loud that the house or restaurant can hear it It happened every single time
My great grandma is like the food insister and the tea pourer combined. Whenever my family has a big get together, at dinner time my great grandma asks EVERYONE if they have eaten yet, and someone says they haven't eaten she will get a plate for them and load it with food! Lol XD

I remember that every time when family gathering, my aunt, who cooks most of the food, never joined us on table. She was cooking more food while we were eating, even though we told her there were too many dishes here and we can't finish them.
You guys forgot the worse.....talking with food in your mouth!!! Is this an Asian thing? They don't swallow there food before talking. I can still see the chewed up food in your mouth...and sometimes food particular goes flying out there mouth. Why??
You're being unfair to the tea pourer. I have been the youngest in my family during my childhood and it was my duty to fill the cup of the elders. If you don't want them to keep filling your cup, just leave your cup full instead of feeling obligated to drink it.

What about the people who fight over the check? :)
Sarah W Eveyone one the table at least moms and dads fight over it.
Asian food is probably the best in the world! It's so interesting and that probably why the Asian table is interesting.
把住碗!(Hold your bowl)
不要(zha)你的筷子!(Don't stick your chopsticks in your food)
吃完饭!(Finish your food)
The most common things I've been told at the table.
Selena C 怎么不动筷子?
不是 “勿动筷子”,而是不要把筷子在碗里竖着插,因为和墓前烧的香很相似,是种坏的预兆。
Okay, I can't read Chinese THAT well.
Selena C I love people who translates into english, ty ^^

I hate double dipping. I will generally skip those items I cannot put on my own plate to avoid the double dipping of others.
Thanks for the video, Mikes! I have now coined the phrase, "Next level slurping." Ha ha ha!
I love double dipping but I dip it on one side, eat it, then dip it again on the other. I find it gross when people double dip with the same side they ate from.
Me too, I even break the chips for example into multiple pieces so I get more delicious sauce AKA alioli/mayo with chips.
That tea part cracks me up every time 😂
I am guilty of being the food photographer . . .
Loool when Mike was imitating his mom about eating only a piece...his reaction tho "ah!?!?!?!?"
I call The Food Insister The Dumper. There will be a few remaining pieces of a dish left and my mother will dump those pieces on my plate without asking even though I don't want any more because I'm getting full.
My mum says she doesn't want anything, so she gives the best pieces to me.
Haha guys😂 Caught you! You said only Canadians take pics of their food in one of your videos lol. I guess we all do it😉
Love your videos xo
I always eat assorted spinach and barbecue chips for dinner.

Team mike! Double dipping is unhygienic
I love Yi's Asian parent accent!
No offence Dan, but double dipping is kinda gross.. (not because i'm a gurl but it is hygiene).....
YOU GUYS ROCK ..>.
I almost died at the tea pourer. I need to share this video with all my friends.
Woohoo first! Lol sorry... I know I'm annoying like that >~
Lol the tea pourer one
Am I the only white person who loves this channel???!!!
Everybody who loves this channel is secretly Asian even if they say they are a different race. Admit it we are all Asian.
These guys always make me laugh with things like this
What about the guy that is picky about his food and will sit there picking out pork skin or certain parts of chicken. I've also seen those that see something they don't really like so they spend half an hour picking out what they don't want to eat.
There is also the mothers that tell you "Eh Sonny! You shouldn't eat so much food. Do you want to get fat?"
Good video, though! Keep putting them out!
Yaasss and then the mothers say "Why are you so skinny?! Eat some more!" And then later say "you're so fat, you eat so much!"
With my mom it was "Eat everything on your plate. There are children in India that would love to have what you have." When I got older, I told my mom to pack up "this garbage" and mail it to India. She didn't see the humor in that statement. Sigh!!!
In Asia it is polite to slurp because when you like the food then you probably like/love the food, so the one who makes the food is very glad you like/love it

Hi guys! I love your videos, it is so funny and teach me a lot of things about China ( country that I wish to know someday). The girl who played the mother is so cute! Best regards!
