      ***** I guess the Japanese you met are different than ones I met, Japanese at school I attended don't have better skins, they do have good makeup products that cover up their pimples and other blemishes, look better from afar, but up close I could see all the pimples under layer of makeups, many Chinese on the other hand don't use whole lot of make up products. maybe that's why.

    As a Black American I decided to watch to educate myself on the subject. I did not learn much but had fun watching. It is interesting to note that there are struggles within the Asian population to distinguish between your different ethnic groups. Blacks can usually tell if we are from America or the Caribbean or European or such. Much is from the way one carries themselves. Mannerisms as well as ones features and appearance. With intermingling of cultures and people picking choices outside their heritage makes it difficult sometimes to tell which is which. With the face quiz I wish you had the answer after each one as I forgot what I guessed for most. I did get more than a couple right but again they were just guesses. Your video was amusing. Thank you.

      " Blacks can usually tell if we are from America or the Caribbean or European or such. Much is from the way one carries themselves. Mannerisms as well as ones features and appearance." Ok fair enough. But in this video, they were trying tp identify total strangers by just a headshot photo. Do you think it is possible to identify where Black person came from by just a photo? I don't know for sure but I have my doubts...

    • @stefanmiddelton7626
      @stefanmiddelton7626 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Try to tell who is Nigerian and Cameroonian from a photo,or a Zimbabwean and a Ivorian. Blacks from America, are mixed,so you have subtle clues. Blacks from Africa on the other hand,are harder to distinguish. Native populations are harder to guess because they aren't as mixed.

    • @iakadayrneh
      @iakadayrneh 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But all the blacks whether ,from Jamaica, Haiti or the United States both share ancestry from west African ethnicities.Well east Asian have been different ethnicity for nearly 10,000 years. It's more difficult to tell blacks apart.

    • @Pooky1991
      @Pooky1991 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I was going to say something similar, except even us Black people can't tell sometimes unless someone has an accent or someone outright states where their from, for example, if someone is from Haiti or an African country. There's also Afrolatinos.

      DinosaurFilms That's not racist. If it were, then saying that Greg Davies looks a lot like Rik Mayall would then also be racist, just because they're both white and British. People can look like other people, and pointing that out shouldn't be considered racist.

    • @dinosaurfilms7425
      @dinosaurfilms7425 9 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Ela Mongrella Yes of course you are absolutely right. It was rather meant jokingly in this context because in the video they themselves aren't always able to distinguish asian ethnicities. Therefore one could say that asians indeed do all look the same (not really but sometimes) and therefore it is funny to say that he does look like Jackie Chan.

My mom's family definitely from China. My dad's family is Chinese but both sets of his grandparents immigrated to Vietnam and changed their last names because of a rice famine. So he was born and raised in Vietnam to a Chinese family. He could speak Viet, Cantonese, and Mandarin fluently. Whenever I visited my dad's side of the family they spoke Cantonese and lived amongst the Chinese community in SF.

      Sane happens to me in Europe, tbh. You can usually tell Northern and Southern European apart, because soitherb Europeans tend to have dark brown hair and hazel or brown eyes, while Northern Europeans tend to have lighter hair and eye colour. Also, Northern Europeans are talller. Some people can also make distinctions between west and eastwrn Europeans. I however, can barely tell the difference. Also, though you can broadly diferenciate between grouosnof Northern vs Southern Europeans, when it comes to individuals is a bit more difficult, since Eurooe is a gradient, so most southerners won't look out if place in central European countries. Is he Spanish or Southern German? Is he Portuguese or Serbian? Is he Romanian or French? Is he English or Hungarian? Well, good luck guessing.

They have double eyelids, pointier and bridge nose and sharp jaws. I even thought that those Japanese actors & actresses from 1950's-1980's are half caucasians. Then, I found out that Japan has different types of people namely *Ainu, Jomon and Yayoi.* The typical Japanese we're used to seeing nowadays have Yayaoi features. Ainu and Jomon have double eyelids, pointier nose, sharp features and light skin looking like caucasians at some point.

      Ainus are austronesian, but most Japanese do not have austronesian blood, and most certainly do not look like that.
      You tell me not to cherry pick yet you are doing the same as well. Most Japanese people do not look like Ken Hirai.
      Taiwanese people lived among Taiwanese aborigines for hundreds of years, do you think they look like Taiwanese aborigines? In general, no, some do, but most don’t.
      Similarly, of course some Japanese look austronesian due to admixture with Ainus but most do not. I’d say 85% of Japanese people do not look like that.
      Like I said, Chinese people can look the most diverse. We have the smallest eyes and the biggest eyes of East Asia.
      I know you’re a Japanese self hater who wants to be Southeast Asian, and want the physical features that Southeast Asians have but in reality most Japanese 23andme and Ancestry tests often have Korean lineage, not really SE Asians.

I spent time with a mixed Asian community (an Asian community made up of Asian people from South Korea, Japan, China, Burma, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia) when I was in Australia of all places, I made friends from various Asian ethnic groups and also dated a South Korean woman, a Japanese woman and a Malaysian woman. I can generally tell the differences between various Asian ethnic groups better than most people who aren't Asian and that's from noticing different facial features, hair colour and types, body shapes, mannerisms, social interaction and accent.
