  • It finally Died!! The original Solar powered pool pump lasted from March 2021 to February 2024. I could not find an exact replacement so I scoured the internet and came up with a 48 Volt VEVOR pump that the pump parts looks identical, but the motor part is a bit longer and a different color. Link below to eBay to the pump I purchased. Or you can just search for "Solar Pool Pump 48V" on eBay and see what's out there. I simply removed the pump, disconnected the three phase wires and installed the new pump with the same wire lettering and boom, it worked!

Great video...did you have to use any pvc adapters if what did you get?

Hello, 69jeeper, the replacement bearings are less than $10. I've got a repair video on it if interested. Keep up the great work.

    thanks!

Thanks for the Video. We have crazy high electric rates in California, so the pump pays for itself in just a couple of months. I subscribed to your channel.

Could you send me pics of the manual for the vevor pump?

Just check the rotation of the new pump motor. All that will happen if you wire it up wrong is it will run backwards as it’s just a 3 phase motor. Running backwards it may not run as efficiently as forwards or it could overheat. If it is running backwards just swap any 2 wires at the inverter terminals.

I remember when you installed this.

Seems you matched voltage and horsepower. It's funny/not-funny how if the seal fails first on one, its likely the seal will continue to be the first thing to go in the future. You might get more life if you could prevent corrosion on the shaft: that leads to accelerated wear on the seal and bearing.
