    Wow Cory! Perfect Set-up!
    I was thinking of tying in my pool to my house's oversized grid tied solar system . It works but your MPPT controller designed for pools! GAME CHANGER! We discussed this before but I get it now! It's simply Better the way you did it! My pool will be set up the same way with lights ... The 4 x 12V batteries that are series connected to achieve your 48V requirement for the pump! Absolute genius! BTW, are those lead acid batteries? Guess you bought those in the Philippines? Thanks! I will copy you! Salamat PO!

    • @ItsMe_Philippines
      @ItsMe_Philippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes these are lead acid batteries or you’re not something that I’m a big fan of or recommend. Still waiting for the delivery for the lithium but I had these left over to try it. But these locally cheap so it wasn’t really a big deal. Doesn’t hurt to have additional back-ups anyways! Very very happy with the set up as it’s 9 AM over here right now and raining and the pump is doing fantastic.

    Thanks for the information on your solar systems.. still waiting for your longer based analysis on main system savings. I am at the start of building two homes in Luzon. One main home and the other a smaller structure. I have calculated my electric usage from my prior home in Florida and it would range, at Philippines price between $980 and $350, (2273 KWH to 1453 KWH) respectively per month! Although I will not be using Central Air in the Philippines, the 1453 KWH is from the month of Feb when no AC or heat was used. In my rental last month in Iraga City I used 255KWH this month at @ $180 US (15.27p/KWH) with limited use of one small window AC. My decision on solar has changed from a want to a need. Waiting for your numbers. (FloridaMan Journey)

      Wow, it sounds like it is definitely a need for you another one. I can tell you my first bill came out to $70 compared to an expected $180. But that’s still nowhere near what you were spending.

    • @ItsMe_Philippines
      @ItsMe_Philippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m a big proponent of going solar whenever you have enough daily sunlight and your roof is at a decent angle. Living in Alaska for example it usually doesn’t make sense because of the sunlight. And a lot of times the roof angle will be in the opposite direction of where you want it. But if you’re able to get panels on your roof angled correctly or even on stilts on your roof then that’s the way to go. Specially, in the Philippines seeing that it cost so much!

    Every question that came into my head while watching the video you answered. This was great to watch and fascinating. The way you've set it up is a fantastic investment. I'm glad you took some night shots too, it's stunning with the lights on.
    One question, did you order the pumps and panels while you were in the US and then box and ship them over to PH with the rest of your things? I'd like to do something similar as have several larger high value items (guitars etc), however I'm in the UK and heard some stories about boxes going missing during the journey over? This would be a concern for me and wondered how you handled it?
    Again, awesome video, it's been fantastic seeing it all come together.

    • @ItsMe_Philippines
      @ItsMe_Philippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for the positive comment I really appreciate it. Yes, I purchased most of this in the states prior to leaving. I had shipped everything over using LBC. I use ratchet straps on all the boxes so I would know if they were opened or not. Out of the 18 boxes that I sent nothing was missing, damaged, lost, or even opened. I can’t speak or vouch for another company but the LBC branch in Chicago did an excellent job helping me.
      They even shipped some solar panels for me that I haven’t put in any of the videos yet. I had some extra and I’m going to use them on the fishpond and hydroponic system.
      Call does look great with the lights on. Funny part is I only have a third of the lights in and I have not installed the ones in the fountain yet. So more to come!

    DC small air conditioners make a lot of sense too, especially for side buildings or suites. You basically just need ac in those places when it's bright and hot. Add a couple 500w panels directly above it.

Mains, Solar, Backup, You were either in the boy scouts or in the Military Or Your just a thinker! 😀LOVE your channel Been watching quietly forever and we only follow sub to people who have their "heads together" Mains solar is awesome and-- standalone panels for lights etc - I Pull them apart and run silicone around them to seal them, You can always pull them apart internal batteries can be replaced cheap as and no load on your other stuff but 6KW LOVE YOUR WORK! 😎 P.S if you try that here in the city 3KW is the limit because they don't want people making power that's too much for the grid! 🤣Best of luck, Love it! It’s still working great although we did add a very small second pump. The only reason why is cause we wanted to keep the circulation going, but have the option of just turning on the waterfall at night. So I got a small .2 hp pump just for the waterfall, so we can have that on when we’re eating dinner and relaxing or have people over but we’re not gonna have to run the whole pump with the filter.

      I’m honestly not sure if you could buy that pump in the Philippines. I’m sure Amazon could ship it over here for you. I wanted to play it safe so I bought it in the states and then I shipped it over myself. I just put it in a standard LBC box and had her clothing packed around it and it worked perfect when I got here.

      Yes I understand that I’ve experienced plenty of rainy seasons here. But even during rainy/cloudy days the solar is still working it’s just not 100%. Which is why I oversized the panels so even on those days it still operates great. It was very dark and cloudy today and the pumpkin dawn around 9 AM

    Is that a heated pool? I think those solar heater in the US are the ones you are speaking of. Water that just goes through the black hose that gets pump into the hoses that goes up the roof solar panel to get heated up by the sun then goes back to the pool. I did not like that either.

    • @ItsMe_Philippines
      @ItsMe_Philippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So far the pool with Matt she did because it hasn’t ever gotten cold. It’s in the sun most of the day and it hasn’t gone below 70 over here. But yes the solar powered heaters is what I’m referring to when I was trying to Google “solar power pool.”

  • @lowcarbhigh7428

    If you need to replace the water from the pool, how will you drain it and where will the drained water go?

    • @ItsMe_Philippines
      @ItsMe_Philippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a drain at the bottom of the pool that goes to the exterior of the waterfall. It has an on and off out so we can hook it up to the pump to pull it out or we can use our submersible pump. Our house along with three others and a local business have drainage hooked up because of the angle of the road.
