Gigabyte has "silently" launched a Low Profile RTX 4060. Would love to see it tested if you get your hands on one 😁
these mini pcs are really taking off! can't wait to get mine... hopefully with oculink
I have the 7840HS version. Using a 3080 10gb with an Oculink M.2 PCIE 4.0 adapter I noticed no performance loss playing Forza Horizon 5 at 4k extreme vs using the 3080 in my gaming rig with a 12700f. The GPU goes to 99% usage with no frame rate cap. I forgot the frame rate but I think it was typically mid 90's.
You could just use the m.2 to oculink adapter
It's nice to have the option but I don't really get the appeal of using a mini pc with an egpu, they were made with laptops in mind and at the same price point you'd get more performance and a neater setup with a small desktop build.
@@amirpourghoureiyan1637 exactly better off building a mini itx build
Beelink no 1....
I hope small formfactor eGPUs that are tailored towards these mini PCs becomes more common.
Thanks for the link and discount code for the keys. Purchasing was a breeze. I initially didn't get the right product for myself but the customer service was quick to help me and I got everything sorted. Saved me $80 thanks again!
Definitely looking forward to a high-end emulation video using this setup.
Have to love all the unusual tech that ETA reviews!
Your intro music always reminds of Y's The Vanished Omens, happy memories in a simpler time. I have ASlienware Alpha R2 that needs upgrading at some point, just waiting for the right one, so please keep these mini form PC reviews coming!
I'm loving this mini pc and handheld gaming thing right now.
Love the reviews. Please do a monitor review if you haven't already
Creo que ya se hace necesario un puerto oculink en estas miniPC para poder sacarle mayor provecho a las eGPU
Mini PCs? 👍 Oh yes, thank you!
Kindest regards.
Cute keyboard, match the mini PC.
Hi ETA Prime, can you try testing this with oculink egpu? Keen to see the results if its going to give a 4 x 4.0 detection by gpuz
I just wish these were a bit more affordable, but they are pretty amazing either way.
can you start going over the BIOS in these mini PCs? I'd love to use them as a media server, but I want to make sure I can configure it to power back on after a power loss
If we are to see continued use of the 23 year old USB 2.0 ports on such expensive tech, then put them on the front, where they are most likely going to be used for mice, keyboards and controllers, some of which will use dongles, where clear line of sight is important for efficient signal strength.
exactly, I don't get why they still put 23 old tech. They could've just put 4 USB C and 1 USB A 3.2.
It would be nice to see a comparison between beelink gtr 7 pro, minisform um790 pro and this one
Your videos are informative and helpful. I want a system that will play Diablo 4, and possibly the new StarFlight game. Do you think this system would run those adequately? Thanks!
These Mini-PCs are also more than good enough for productivity. I'd love to see you test out their multi-monitor capabilities using, say, 4 DELL MST monitors daisy-chained. Let us know if how stable they are driving multiple monitors, etc. I've got a Beelink SER6 with the 7735HS and 3 MST monitors. It'll drive all 3 without issue either through the DP or the USB-C Thunderbolt ports, but I don't have enough monitors to see just how many it could handle. One might have to add RAM to assign it to VRAM I suppose, but that would be really useful for people looking to run an array of monitors.
good review!!! Does this product work well even if it is powered by a usbpd charger instead of a DC adapter? Should I not use the usb charger because it consumes a lot of power when I play games?
Between this, Beelink and the Minisforum offerings, which would you take?
would love to see Nintendo Switch and PS3 Emulator on that PC. Whether it can handle Emulator in QHD and 4K
Very nice! Thanks for your review. But i'm confused, i want to buy one mini pc with 7940HS. I don't know what to choose, um790 pro, gtr7 pro or this M600 pro. Seems like gtr7 pro still best performant in games, M600 pro has internal hdd posibility. I don't know... Maybe best overclockable machine with better temps is my choice. Could you compare these machines? Is there any information about neptune series of minisforum? i'm curious about which dedicated gpu will replace 6600m
How does it handle video encoding and editing?
Maybe I would like this as a video capture and editing pc, streaming my other PC and video game consoles.
these getting more and more interesting. Hope mainstream brand will produce these products
it would be amazing if Asus, MSI and others would start making mini-pcs like this! The first PC I've ever seen with a mobile chip boosting to the spec'ed clocks were in these mini pcs. They gave the size to actually cool those chips while still being small.
We need these with mobile nvidia cards. Coming soon. Imagine these with the upcoming Arrow Lake CPU's and a 5060ti. Thats a fast integrated gpu plus an external card all in one chassis. Lets goooooo.
5000 series cards a supposed to come out in late 2025......
I sincerely hope NOT. They'd swamp these smaller manufacturers, and these are the guys who developed the market in the first place.
@@JackTheAwesomeKnot arrow lake coming out around then
So, this one or the minisforum um790pro? This looks a bit nicer, but the minis might have better cooling?
Hey ETA what mini pc do you recommend for 7Days To Die?
I really don't like that a lot of these mini pc's put the PD port on the front, i'd prefer to have it at the back to keep it tidy
handheld should come with this chipset
What was the Cinebench R23 score for this mini-PC? Are they using liquid metal for the TIM?
12:18 Did you measure idle power consumption with that live wallpaper on?
late to the party on these videos but recently stumbled upon this mini pc phenomenon and became hooked. Now its a matter of deciding which one. The tech in me wants the best, but the realist knows that I won't be using it for Cyberpunk or anything like that (got a full size for that) but console emulation - Wii, GameCube, SNES and PS1-4 - and general media consumption will be the goal. I don't think I really need, for these purposes, the 7940hs....but I just can't bring myself to settle for the 5800h either! Decisions, decisions! Then there's the middle of the road with a 7735 and a 680m but those all limit you to 4800 mem speed for some reason (at least I have not been able to find one with 5600) - but will mem speed really have an impact on my intended function? This will be a living room pc running on a 4k TV and not a monitor...anyone have any data on that? :)
Can you do a video editing benchmark where you scrub and play a timeline of one of your own videos?
Would you recommend this pc or something like hx90g? I'm really considering buying a mini PC really soon
i know you are mostly a gaming content channel, but can you also include video encoding tests using Davinci Resolve, Vegas, etc. on your reviews, it would be interesting to see if these mini PCs can handle light to moderate video editing work
Can't wait for the strix point apu, that thing is gonna be crazy
When are they coming out?
@@dave3k Next year most likely.
Those jars breaking in Cyberpunk look really strange. Could it be FSR?
The TH-cam 4K test is kind of pointless since TH-cam will auto-adapt the output to the player. Would you mind just using something like DXVA Checker? It's a super lightweight utility that scans the GPU/IGP for compatibility with formats and resolutions. It can also monitor playback performance for any type of video format, if you have a non-TH-cam 4K HDR clip to test...
How does this compare with the beelink gtr7 pro and the minisforum um790?
Eta must have a deal with Amd to review every 7940hs brought to market
Can u add house of the dead remake to your test lineup? It’s one of the harder ones on igpu . Unity based games tend to have issues on these
Is the only type-c port multi-functional for thunderbolt, USB 4, PD100W power-in, and DP 1.4 video?
we need charts for all 780m machines you've used including real world results of RPSC3 , Xenia side by side. Does the CPU of 7940hs vs 7840hs give a much higher fps for high cpu demanding games and emulation.
Yeah good point! We need a thermal solution comparison chart of all mini PCs with 7940HS. That'd be really great
@@beemstream I know, with each review we hear its the best, the greatest ect ect yet none of the reviews by any reviewers looking at these mini pcs are comparing the makers methods of wifi antena, cooling, ports, ssd/ram mounting ect.
I am the first comment! finally! anyhow good video. One thing is every time something is super fast, or great. Well this is how technology works. I will say, buy was you can afford and enjoy it until it last. Always there will be something better next day. Cheers, keep the great content!
So they have the same cpu with a faster ram speed on the s500+ …witch one do u recommend s600 or s500+
It would be nice to see in comparison between the 6000 series version and the 7000 series version.
I have the 6850u and 7840hs versions but am unable to perform any meaningful comparison as I still get frequent crashing and performance regression with the new system and the current drivers.
@@andrewharwood7843do fresh install
Its about 30% faster. Not as much.
Just type in 680m vs 780m benchmarks. There's tons
Hello can you also do valorant benchmark on low settings Im interested with this small pc but needed to see frames if it runs great I would love to buy this
Can BIOS change timings in this piece ??
I would love to see these mini PC's have a trade in program like Samsung phones
I honestly feel like there's just too many of these out there. They're all pretty close in performance to each other. I think maybe there should be a way to categorize them or something. Like which ones are great for the price, which are powerful for their size etc.
Never complain about having choices to make.
I know it's not the most modern game, but I'd love to know performance of Halo Infinite on one of these 780M iGPU equipped systems as it's literally the main reason I'm considering getting a PC in the first place (I mainly use Mac outside of gaming).
Halo Infinite is very poorly optimized. Even some higher end builds can struggle and stutter with it.
@@RelentlessOhiox I know it can be problematic, that's part of why I ask.
These new CPUs do *so well* with many modern titles, I just wondered to which degree that also applied to Halo Infinite.
I'd also be curious how the master chief collection runs on these guys. Halo 1 could probably run on a potato, but how does Reach run one of these guys? I think it'd be interesting to see.
@@CamdogXIII MCC is the opposite, its really well optimized. My old 1050 ran the game at 1080p 60 with enhanced graphics settings no problem. Infinite is a well known technical mess. MCC had a lot of effort from Splash Damage and Certain Affinity and it shows.
@@CamdogXIIIreach runs fine on a Gtx 750ti it will run on this wayyyy better
I got a lenovo q715m tiny gen 2 with a ryzen 2400ge apu.
also have the same FPS :)
Radeon780M flies well with modern upscale like fsr2
I can do gow with 1080p fsr2 quality steady 60
I'm super curious how these higher end iGPU's handle running small GGML LLM models in koboldcpp, like llama-2 7B. I suspect they'd be able to pull it off.
offloading layers to the iGPU might be possible but I doubt it’ll result in better inferencing speeds apart from prompt ingestion times
How would this compare to my old i7 930?
ETA Prime, do you think you could make a mini PC for Xbox Game Pass?
What version of the GPU driver are you using in the tests? I am using a 7840HS and the driver situation from AMD has been shocking.
What do you mean is shocking?
Really interested in these new AMD Ryzen mini PCs ... i have a laptop with a 5500U APU in it and that has been great to use, can really work with it.. I got a mini PC few months ago a cheap Intel NUC with a N5105 CPU .. i'm finding that one a terrible experience, sure it can run a thing or two but man it gets bogged down so quick if you want to multitask, i'm really not doing much just watching a video in a browser and maybe looking at another website and the CPU is at 100% usage, it lags and even messes up the WIFI connection for a moment. The 5500U APU.. barely has any load doing the exact same tasks. Not sure what is up with it, i've tried to optimize it to no avail so Intel NUC is relegated to being a retro game box.. and i'm looking for a new AMD Ryzen mini PC.. if the 5000 series was good then i believe the new 7000 series to be just want i'm looking for. I like the idea of the OcuLink external graphics card dock too for some serious grunt.
why are all the minipcs not soldering on faster RAM options :'(
If only I could afford it.
morefine tends to include ecc Ram I see it in the s500+ and the 6900hx series can anyone confirm if this one has ecc ram as well?
Do it can use 2 48gb ram sticks?
So is this the best mini PC so far?
Can you do some PS3 and Xbox Emulation Videos please?
I bought a year-old, open-box Acer Nitro 5 laptop recently from a big box store. For under $600, it has a TimeSpy score of 5900. Nice portable solution for a nice budget price. CPU is a 12th gen i5. GPU is a mobile 3050 ti.
laptop is not good for gaming screen too small. Also you cannot fit it in your pocket.
@@unassailable6138 - I am on a trip right now. My laptop is doing a good job of getting my gaming fix in. I left my Steam Deck at home.
waiting for Ryzen 8000 Strix Halo APU with 40 CU´s. This will be the Endboss in Mini-PC Gaming.
Will it run a egpu on this model
how do you get such a black task manager?
hi which of them mini PCs has the best cooling system for the r9 7940hs? Is it minisforum with liquid metal? Or is it beelink because it is larger?
Many report that they replace the chinese liquid metal trash with Arctic MX-6
I'm still keen to see just how fast the 8000 series is. Since their lowest spec model will have 16 RDNA 3.5 CUs. Hopefully CyberDump can hit 1080 medium low, without FSR.
Impossible without faster DDR5 ram.
@@Rexolaboy Next year's Strix Halo has a 256 bit memory controller that gives the APU as much bandwidth as a dedicated card.
@@riven4121 You are currently referring to an unannounced product that is all but rumors. Also the product you are referring to is rumored to have a completely different layout compared to the current APUs, I would not classify them as the same thing, compare them more to current custom SOCs with APUs much like the Xbox series and PS5.
@@Rexolaboy Which are still ultimately APUs they're still APUs no matter what.
@@riven4121 certainly, but I doubt AMD will have a full product stack of these new APUs, too cost prohibitive. The next phase of APUs start with DDR6. Until then it's over priced tricks to get performance in APUs.
I like the form factor. But for $900 you could build a fairly good SFF PC.
Units like this are convenience at a premium. Of course one can build a more powerful pc.
hi I'm giving my nephew a mini PC is this good with roblox with good settings?
ID on the keyboard from the thumbnail?
So would 64gb of ram be more efficient?
What is a good, cheap mini PC for Linux?
Please test older titles and Emulation at 4K.
Thank you.
Is there are a reason why there are no emulator benchmarks anymore?
is it support ecc memory and ipmi?
Can this play State of decay 2? The of us 1 and 2?
Has anyone used a mini pc with CAD/compile heavy load? I work primarily with Altium designer and a lot of embedded C source code. Interested in a mini pc because of space constraints.
Does it do Batocera?
Let's see Emulation performance
Nice, but Minisforum seems better value.
I genuinely wish you would show raw performance as well as upscaled instead of just focusing FSR on performance. It does no justice showing what the APU is actually capable of. Every video released about these APUs is the exact same with no difference which is a severe lack in quality content.
He has no time to actually do detailed stuff. This channel is modern day infomercial. He used to be good, now he's just a promotional poster for these companies. I hope hes getting paid good but his content is beyond irrelevant.
this thing is powerful graphics. almost a 1650 or there abouts
Morefine makes a Ryzen 7 7840HS version of this also. I can't find any reviews of it, but it's identical to the 7940HS version. So you could easily watch this review if you are looking for a review of the Ryzen 7. The interesting thing is, the Ryzen 7 version is cheaper while it uses the same iGPU, and benchmarks are almost identical. I think that makes the 7840 the best one, as the 6900 has weaker graphics. I have the 7840 BAREBONE on order, along with a 24GB dual channel DDR5 5600 kit on a different order. Yes, that is 2 X 12GB, which is perfect. While I usually go for 32GB, I do monitor my RAM usage with rarely goes past 16GB and never hits 20GB. So even if I dedicate 4GB for video, 24GB of RAM will be perfect. From earlier projects and upgrades I've got 1TB gen 3 NVME, 2TB gen 3 NVME and a WD 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD. I was happy to discover all of that extra storage would fit in this. :) Can't wait to assemble this beast with 24GB of dual channel RAM and 5TB of onboard storage. Overkill for HTPC, but will do some gaming, also.
we have been hity said the piolet
Have you tried "parking" some of the CPU cores for extra performance?
At 65W there would be no difference in performance by doing that. The CPU and GPU cores are working at their máximum frecuency, so there is no much more power to give until you reach voltage limits and make the temperature unbearable for the cooling.
that cat... where did you buy that?!
edit:
aa forget it already, I found it by using google lens
There's so many of these mini pc's, i feel like there should be a tier list of either brands, hardware configurations, or whatever.

7945HX only has 2 680M CUs, at that point maybe its better to just built a SFFPC using a 7950X desktop chip.
@@6ChrisWeng9 But with dedicated gpu it shouldn't be a problem. Maybe neptune series of minisforum use 7945hx with a new dedicated gpu to replace 6600m

Dude this is what I'm waiting for😅
@Visionary4787 i am feed up with these bullshit prices for so little performance. What is the point on spending 800 dollars on a rog ally if is to throw it into the bin after 2 years ...
@@jeofthevirtuoussand exactly. The new strix halo will be at least enough to last years. I don't want something i will throw out next year
@@Visionary4787 you know the worst part. If nvidia made a ship with same power and dlss , the console made by nvidia would last much longer simpler because dlss isn't joking around when it comes to upscale under 1080p..
Enabling fsr under 720p = sight seeing at the museum of horror..
Actually 2klickphilip posted 2 video on low resolution dlss.
If you haven't seen them ,they are really entertaining and insightful..
Especially the one in which he literally compares native 720p vs fsr 240p and dlss 240p and the best part is that there is a clear difference.
I am also sick of seeing people preaching for fsr when it's only merit is that it is usable on any gpu ..
yet if people had a gpu capable of running dlss and fsr .. and could choose between fsr and dlss 1/10 people would willingly use fsr.
Or the fact that many games bundled by amd cuts dlss out..
When nvidia does bundles with game, they don't cut fsr support and for good reason, fsr is basically free advertising for dlss .
If it would come to that I would dare use 360p upscaled to 1080p with dlss .
But if I was forced to use fsr at 360p I would have most likely bitten the bullet and bought a new hardware 😮💨.
Edit : Sorry, I deviated
Como ver los fps como tu tienes?
What's the benefit of having something like this over having a handheld with a 7840u and 780m being docked?
Is it able to draw more power since it doesn't have to be "mobile" and on a battery?
Would love it if it had oculink.
Yes, and they can be modified easier than handhelds or laptops for even more performance. They make oculink adapters that could be used in the second m.2 slot - not ideal but I guess it depends on how bad you want it.
