Jaden and NAW's defense on Booker is the key to the series imo. Booker sets up and initiates the Suns's offense. Trapping him mucks up their ball movement, shuts down the Suns system and forces KD to iso. Since Jaden is on Booker the most, he might be the x-factor too
What I love about the Minnesota Timberwolves role players is that you never know which bench player will cook the opposing team. It could be Naz, Alexander Walker or McDaniels
And dont forget slomo! I also think getting monte Morris was a great move. This team is deep and scary, too bad they are on the nuggets side of the bracket
@@maartenvz the whole point of this team is to play the nuggets. I’m not being hyperbolic, that’s literally the point. So, it don’t matter what round as long as we get a series cuz all ball fans deserve that series.
They have such amazing depth on this team. KAT going down a while back and letting Naz step in and get into this groove with the starters at the end of the season could be a blessing for the Wolves right now. Such a good team.
This is also why wolves fan know it's a make or break playoff run for KAT. We're willing to run with Naz as our starting PF if KAT can't get it together, and we're happy to trade KAT for pieces to build around these two.
I was a Wolves fan since the Garnett era, and I haven't watched the NBA in years because of their management ineptitude. Now, though, we finally have something to care about since KLove left and I'm glad for it.
Was taught my whole life this was traveling. Once the pivot foot leaves the ground touching the floor again with ball still in possession results in a travel. If a player were to catch a pass and instead of using his dribble he pivoted around then “stepped through” he would be called for traveling every time. Is the difference if you don’t have the ability to dribble your then aloud a step through? Real ? not crying like a baby. The game has changed so much throughout the years. I mean they’re using instant replay to upgrade tiktac fouls into flagrants for Christ sakes.
@@mattbright9885 You are right, if his pivot were to come back down before the shot it is a travel, but the ball leaves his hands before his pivot foot comes back down, so it isn't a travel.
@@nicholaskramer7783 im sorry can you please explain in greater detail? once the pivot foot leaves the ground you can’t touch the ground again or it’s a travel….yes or no? His pivot foot comes off the ground at the same time his right foot is touching the floor on the step through. Your saying it all has to do with the pivot foot touching the floor not the other foot yes? It’s very confusing. To take a step without dribbling is traveling but apparently you can take 1step when you have no dribble and 2steps when it’s off the dribble.
@@mattbright9885 The rule is as follows. " If a player, with the ball in his possession, raises his pivot foot off the floor, he must pass or shoot before his pivot foot returns to the floor. If he drops the ball while in the air, he may not be the first to touch the ball." When Ant raises his pivot foot he is allowed to take a shot, pass the ball or take a time out to prevent traveling per the rules. His choice was to jump off his opposite leg while keeping his pivot still in the air. Since his pivot foot does not touch ground again before the shot, it is not traveling.
I didnt expect Coach to be yet another guy who misreads KATs game, but it seems like everyonejust wants to pile on,. "Forces an awkward look..." the shot was awkward cuz he was mauled and as is typical didn’t get a call. Naz is great, obvi, but KAT is a good passer and can absolutely make the play Reid did in the video. He has some bad turnovers at times, but KAT is a skilled and willing passer.
Naz Reid for 6MoTY. I know Monk has a very good case as well, honestly i'm happy they are getting their recognition. Altho I think it's easier for guards / non big men to win the award. Going back to 2000 there has been only 3 PF's that have won 6MoTY along with one SF. The other 20 winners? All guards.
Hey Coach! What do you think about how comfortable the Wolves are with conceding Gobert switches to the Suns Big 3? Does it look sustainable to keep the Suns offense out of whack or are there things to exploit?
I imagine we’ll see more plays like Booker had where after 3 moves he got by him for a layup. But it seems like finch will let that happen a little bit with hopes there’s a trade off in their favor
Ant absolutely travelled on the pivot foot shuffle. He lifts his right foot up and places it down again after establishing it as a pivot on picking up his dribble, as well as sliding his heel just prior to the step through. The fact that Coach Nick says "basically" at the EXACT point that he clearly travels is ironic and hilarious (7:40). ALSO... IT SHOULD NOT BE CALLED, unless you start to call the aggregious carrying violations that the refs let go. I'm all for calling BOTH instances, and adhering to the rules as written - but let's start not start with the small stuff. Crack down on the big stuff, the rock-the-ball-to-sleep-and-sing-it-a-lullaby-in-the-middle-of-a-dribble carries. In the context of this game, in this league, this violation was such a small example that I'm fine with it not being called - especially given how much the refs weren't calling obvious shooting fouls. That doesn't mean that it wasn't a clear travelling violation, however, and I'd be curious to see what Sir Ronnie of Nunn's take would be. Edit: After watching 7:40 again, I was wrong. It's still a travel, but because Ant actually establishes his LEFT foot as his pivot after ending his dribble. He picks up his right foot while his left is grounded after taking the ball in two hands, then puts it down and moves his left foot. Again: Still a travel Again: Absolutely fine with it not being called given the context of this game's no-calls, and this league in general.
It’s definitely not a clear traveling violation, and I’ve asked some refs they all agree. He pivots from toe to heel which is legal, foot stayed anchored to the ground
