Fun fact: Taron Egerton (eggsy) and Elton John met making this movie and became friends, which led to Taron getting the lead role in "Rocketman" after Elton John vetoed the original lead casting proposed by the studio.
Rocketman was in development for years. Tom Hardy was going to play Elton, but it took so long to get it made Tom become too old to play a young Elton. Plus Elton really wanted someone who could sing which Taron has in aces.

Taron also sings Elton songs in Sing where he plays a gorilla.

The fact that the guy who plays Eggsy also played Elton John makes him appearing in this even better,
This is actually how he got the role. Him meeting elton john on the set of this movie ultimately led to elton wanting taron to portray him.

People got so annoyed by the silliness in this movie and I feel like they forgot that the first definitely had its share of ridiculousness too. While definitely not as good as the first, I still think this was an enjoyable fun sequel. Glad to see you 2 liked it and it helps that you didn't have the trailers to immediately spoil that Harry was back like we did when this came out.
Pretty much exactly my feeling too. I really enjoyed this film (and the third one) but the first one was hard to top. It just wouldn't be the same without the outrageous silliness.

Its funny considering the first movie literally had a meta moment explaining what the films are about. "Do you like spy movies?" "All too serious for my tastes give me an over theatrical plot any day"
Mark Strong as Merlin is an absolute legend.
The "oooh fu-" by Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) just before blowing up always gets me I don't know why ! Maybe the fact that he is actually playing Dumbledore, it's so weird to hear him say that 😂

Guys! The prequel to Kingsmen is coming out soon! I’m so excited. This series of movies is so fantastic. Probably some of the best cinema in the last 20 years.

Yeah, the prequel really doesn’t match with these two movies. The story is good, but Taron’s action scenes cannot be replicated
@@collegebro85 I mean, for the period they aimed for, it made sense that it came out how it did. I'm fine with it, but I was hoping that it wouldn't be the last and that we could perhaps go back to the current time, so that a final Kingsman movie could end there, instead of with a prequel

My biggest complaint for this movie is that they killed off Roxy

The camerawork inside the taxi cab fight was all real. They switched between a green screen soundstage and a real driving car at times, but it really is a very skilled team of camera operators doing all that crazy motion back and forth.
This movie was just on tv like 2 hours ago.
I love Kingsman so much, I actually watched it in cinema with my husband, but to be honest nothing beats the first one for me.

Nikki & Steven, the 3rd film (the prequel) is stunning. And there is talk of more to come. Since this is based off of a graphic novel series, there is enough source material for a whole universe.

I can recommend watching Eddie The Eagle, Taron Egerton returns as the lead and Matthew Vaughn, the director of Kingsman, produced it.

If you like Taron Egerton, be sure to watch "Rocketman". That movie was so impactful, deep and really moved me. I feel like Taron should have got an Oscar for it.
Omg I’m so excited to watch this reaction!! I’m starting now but I literally just finished watching your first Kingsman reaction! I like this one just as much as I do the first, some days I like it a tiny bit more
I hated the way they killed Roxy... Her death makes sense, I just don't like how she died. Well, I mean, idk if she died or survived, but still. Also, I loved agent Whisky's character, so it's a shame that he died also.
It bothered me as well they went through all that to introduce her in the first film to just kill her off , i'm hoping she made it to a fortified room or something and survived so we get more from her in later instalments
After watching the meat grinder scene, I’m now reminded of why I skip McDonald’s.
On a positive note. You two are so fun to watch.
These 2 movies have the best original action I've never seen, I would love to see it in other movie universes
There is also the prequel, The King's Man. It's not styled like the first two Kingsman movies. It's an origin story on how the Kingsman Agency was established. It's still a good movie.

These are great and as you said great comedy and you love the outrageous crazy tech and just accept it and go along for the ride.
I love the prequel and you must do that one!! (The King’s Man) and can’t wait for more in that series. As someone with a historical background it’s actually really funny to see how many small bits of accurate history is in that movie while being complete fiction.
It is fiction but everything that happens is based on or inspired by very true events..Some of the things that people thought was too unrealistic was actually how it happened like, th bodged assassination, the secret society based on the black hand, even the soldiers heroic death was based on the death of a victory cross dude
The slow-motion horizontal Elton-kick is just the best thing ever on screen.
Great reaction! You two really are so much fun to watch. Definitely check out the sequel, which is a prequel. It’s total fiction, but they worked a lot of real history into it, which made it a lot of fun.

Absolutely loved Whiskey's electric lasso.
The two Kingsman movies (and Kick Ass) are a master class in creative action choreography, and how the perfect song choice combined with excellent cinematography and editing elevates that action by a few levels. Unfortunately the prequel couldn't quite match that.

Thanks for including the "Country Roads" parts. I didn't remember he was singing it earlier when they were headed to Kentucky but the part where he actually sings "West Virginia" really struck me when we first watched it, and even now. ❤️

I've been so excited to watch you react to this! To be honest I loved this movie just as much as the 1st. Kingsman the prequel was okay...but I'm stoked for movie 3!!
It was probably stated in one of the earlier comments, but Taron Egerton was the voice (both acting and singing) of the piano-playing gorilla in the digitally animated movie "Sing" where he sings Elton John's "I'm Still Standing".
These guys are perfect to watch whilst eating breakfast, so entertaining

I do have a movie suggestion though, granted you probably won’t see this. But John Boyega (who plays Finn, the ex storm trooper on the Star Wars movies) has a film called Attack the Block, another brilliant fun and action packed British film that I think you guys will love! It came out in 2010 I believe but John just announced that after ten years and the huge fan base the movie has, they are FINALLY making a sequel. So my suggestion would be for you guys to watch Attack the Block. People that love Kingsmen usually love ATB too.
The prequel is called The King's Man and it goes back to the beginning. I haven't watched it yet but I do believe it is out. I'm looking forward to checking it out. It's a great series.

Song on the end fight scene was a country cover of “word up” by Cameo, some may be more familiar with the Korn cover of Cameo.

They originally asked Elton John to be in the first movie but apparently he wasn’t interested however he did watch the film and then he actually asked to be in the second film and basically said just let me know where and when you need me and I will make sure I am free. This is then where he met Taron Egerton who went on to play him in Rocketman.

Spot on - the action and tech is great, the villains are barmy, and the Kingsmen (and Statesmen!) are too cool for the fridge. Lots of fun, my test is always "how would I leave the movie theatre after watching this?" - with a cheerful gait and a satisfied little smile is my answer to this one.

I'm sure you know by now that there's a prequel, The King's Man, showing the origin of their organisation.
I've heard it's really good but haven't seen it, so I can't personally vouch for it's quality. We will also get a Kingsman 3, continuing Eggsy's story(it was put on hold due to covid, but is Planned to start shooting later this year, if all goes well)
But since you enjoyed this you Need to watch "Kick-Ass", directed by Kingsman director Mathew Vaughn and also starring Mark Strong(Merlin)
Don't watch a trailer or anything, just dive in blind, you will not regret it.
Kingsman and Kick-Ass are both based on comics, written by the same author Mark Millar.
I Wouldn't necessarily recommend Kick-Ass 2, sadly. It's not bad, but, imo Way Darker(and not in the good way)than the first(which is Really Fun) and there's a plot point that kind of ruins a character, which I didn't like. That's just me though, you might love it.
And since you seem to enjoy this kind of stylized over the top action, you also might want to give WANTED a watch(also based on yet another comic by Mark Millar)
Lastly, a little fun detail - Taron Egerton(Eggsy)plays Elton John in his biography Rocketman😄
