Idk about being the most powerfull. But he should be one of the most powerfull firebender. But then you also have to think the he's so old, even older than Iroh in Atla. At this point in time its just common sense that there some more powerfull than him.

I love how Sheera at the start of the episode points out what I've been thinking, you're being so hard on Korra because you have a soft spot for the past lives of the avatar, those people were long gone, they were already death, and their only use was to give the avatar some wisdom, it doesn't affect the rest of the world, Vaatu cut the connection of Korra with them by killing Raava but Korra defeated the spirit of darkness by using her own spirit which is strong as hell and in the process brought balance to the world by re-opening the portals. Unalaaq was fucked up but he was right to some degree (just like every other villain in this show) which is why it wasn't hard for Korra to believe him, besides the fact that he was his blood relative of course.

What Korra has to deal with in terms of enemies are waaaaaaaaaaay higher and more dangerous than what Aang had to deal with. I'll take fighting Zuko over Amon, Unaloq, Vatuu, and the God tier red lotus benders lol Aanag would of got wrecked if he didn't use Avatar state immediately

Actually, yeah the Avatar state probably still gives Korra a power up, but if I remember correctly, Roku said that the glow does indicate that the Avatart is calling on all the past experience of the past avatars as well. So it's not just for self-therapy sessions and spiritual guidance, but the Avatar state, much like One for All in MHA, probably gets stronger which each reincarnation of the Avatar. Now that that connection is broken, it's probably (or at least if it was keeping with Roku's established lore should be) much weaker than it was when avatars like Aang had it.
Roshi korra is still kinda of powerful even though her past life aren’t there to guide her. She has prime time raava now which means the avatar state is more powerful.

You have to understand that Korra’s past lives can’t always give her the advice she needs. The past lives provide wisdom and guidance but it’s applicable to an extent, every challenge the avatar faces is unique in their own way, the past lives don’t solve their problems. The avatar of that time period has to find a way to maintain balance. Read imbalance and the promise and you’ll understand how even Aang questioned Roku’s advice. Some food for thought. Korra’s character is misunderstood.

You list all of korra "failures" but don't say how she brought back the air nation that was destroyed because of aang... The avatar state is strong even without past avatars like avatar wan was really strong in it. Korra beat a bloodbender and stopped a political revolution against benders but you call her "dumb"

Korra was developed to have only the First season. Then a second and so on. So the writers always had to do new stuff and wasnt mentioned before.

I’m getting so tired of the Korra bashing. Like bash on the show, on the writing, idk. But stop victim blaming Korra. SHE DID NOT ASK FOR THIS. She was winning before Unalaq came back into the spirit world. No one could have beat Unalaq and vaatu at the same time. After they merged, she couldn’t hav known vaatu could go reach into her to get raava, no avatar before her knew this was possible. And then they also say she shouldn’t have opened the portal and should have listened to her past lives... they didn’t know about it either!!! Only wan and maybe like 3 avatars after that knew... no avatar close to Korra knew, so they wouldn’t have stopped her, they would have been like do what you think his best
@@liliannedenomme8948 Exactly and even when Unalaq and Vaatu were fused she wasn't neccesarily losing to them, she kept up with him quite easily then Unalaq just pulled an underhand technique and ripped Raava out of her...from that point on there's nothing she could do....

But Korra was down right unbearable sometimes. Aang definitely had flaws but Korra was so arrogant and stubborn during the first two seasons and she caused most of her problems. In seasons 3 and 4 it’s way better though so I guess that’s character development.
Problem is not Korra, the problem is the writers for her characters.

I mean you could argue long feng was working against the avatar's efforts sure, but the earth kingdom itself gave whatever support they could, or desperately did anything they could. literally fighting for their homes and lives. they have a right to be angry about still losing so much land after all those years of unprovoked war (especially when the fire nation came out of the war just as strong as they were before)
Take into consideration that since it's been occupied for 100 years the people there have mixed so much. At the end of the 100 year war, the fire nation citizens who spent their entire lives there naturally didn't want to leave their home and loved ones. Also some of the Earth Kingdom descendants didn't care to be part of the Earth Kingdom anymore. Republic City was a solution that ultimately benefited all and the previous Earth King endorsed the idea

In Zuko Alone, the family that took Zuko for dinner clearly were told they lost a son to the Fire Nation and we told how they treat them. Jet and his guerrilla fighters, the prison break by the earthbenders in season 1. The Omashu Resistance. First episode of season 2 with General Fong who show all the wounded earth kingdom soldiers. The Drill Episode where the Outer Ring garrison tried to damage the drill. The invasion of Black Sun clearly shown earth kingdom soldiers. Ozai’s war room where the general stated that even after capturing Ba Sing Se and other cities, rebellions are popping out all across the Kingdom. Do you really think the war would have taken 100 years if it was just the Water Tribes fighting the Fire Nation? Huh? 🧠 smoothbrain ass
When I heard the part that Korra is alone they forget that she isn't alone because Ravaa is with her still. She was a voice long forgotten by all previous incarnations of herself.

There were loads of people living in the Fire Nation colonies. Some of them were Earthbenders who considered themselves proud Fire Nation citizens. The compromise to avoid war was that neither nation got the land and it became its own nation.
