Ancient dragons are a little more powerful than androsphinxes like Kamaljiori, so it made sense. But it was a shock to fans of the campaign, because it played out entirely differently - they had a riddle to find out the name of the Sphinx, no dragons whatsoever, and Kammy lived. I suppose killing him added weight.
