Her motives of uniting the kingdom are good. Throwing people into "re-education camps" if they disagree.. not so good. Taking over cities that have been running smoothly, and threatening anyone who objects.. not so good.

The heads of each province still ultimately answered to the Earth Monarch. Bumi mentioned back in Book 3 that the Earth Queen can legally conscript any Earth Kingdom citizen into her army.

She didn't start murdering people yet but you could tell that things were quickly gonna get bad with her. The village leaders heard the stories of how she operates. Sometimes keeping your freedom is more important than anything else. The people of the village would've had food and been able to survive had the airbenders not gotten robbed.

Yup. He's crazy strong now. Especially the way he fights with it. First he focuses on area control, then he has earth for defense and can do fast jabs of lava. Ghazan was a great bender, but I'm not sure how good of a bender he was before he had access to lava. Bolin was already an excellent earth bender

Believe it or not, those air bandits were not sent by kuvira. The state of the earth kingdom is just *that* bad and chaotic even before the queen fell.
We’ve had earth bending villains in the past. Sand benders, Long Feng, The Dai Li, General Fong, Chin the conquerer, Hou Ting the Earth Queen, & Ghazan the lava bender. Kuvira isn’t our first earth bending villain. But she might be our first metal bending villain.
K.vira really got a raw deal. I've read the book's too, so I know there's A LOT of anger and even more trust built up in her. But then she felt that trust was betrayed, and it made her very Cold and Merciless.
If Kuvira was supporting the bandits, everything would be simpler but no,that's just how bad things got in the Earth Kingdom. Is she a dictator? Yes. Is she also helping in the way that no one else is capable at that point? Hell yes

Actually Kuvira had nothing to do with the bandits taking the supplies. They just added that in so quick to show the state of the Earth Kingdom. It also shows specifically how and why the territories give themselves up to Kuviras forces. One thing we could also consider is that any territories not aligned with the new Earth Empire most likely get no support or help by neighboring "states" that are part of the Empire. Probably stopped all supply lines and trades as well
Technically you could say that the lava bending guy (was it Gazon or something like that) was an earth bbending villain. But Kuvira is definitely the first METAL bending villain.
The logo on the floor during Korra's cage fight is the same one as that of Earth Rumble in "The Blind Bandit". This is the first episode in which Meelo is seen with hair. The earthbenders surfing on rocks during their attack on Kuvira's train is similar to how the Southern Water Tribe rebels began their attack in "Night of a Thousand Stars". This is Kai's last speaking role in the series.
No matter how many times I see Kuvira dusting those bandits, im always impressed. Best part is she is using Toph's style of Earthbending majority of the fight.

@@williamzhang153 No,she didn't "create" this situation. Yes,she forced a lot of people to join her, but the entire country was in ruins for 3 years. We saw people stealing everything, hell, Bolin and Mako stole a freaking airship. It's not really that hard in fallen states

Actually Kuvira had nothing to do with the bandits taking the supplies. They just added that in so quick to show the state of the Earth Kingdom. It also shows specifically how and why the territories give themselves up to Kuviras forces. One thing we could also consider is that any territories not aligned with the new Earth Empire most likely get no support or help by neighboring "states" that are part of the Empire. Probably stopped all supply lines and trades as well
Technically you could say that the lava bending guy (was it Gazon or something like that) was an earth bbending villain. But Kuvira is definitely the first METAL bending villain.
