You probably couldn't see it cause it was bright, but what Jinora had was wan's tea pot, which like Iroh said "You can still taste a little light with every cup". She used a remnant of raava to find her inside Vatuu

That's amazing, I thought the best season had a bad ending because I thought Jinora's light thing didn't make a lot of sense, but now that I know that it was the tea pot, it makes sense because it had Raava's energy/essence from the time Raava spent inside it. @@OshawottLuke yeah! It takes a good while and some thinking to make sense of the book 2 finale, but everything makes sense. The reason people dont like it and I validate some of the criticism is because the stakes arent handled well. The emotion is theres Tenzin's and Korra's arc were beautiful in book 2, but just.....its hard to sympathize with a hero if what they're facing is a cartoony "I'm going to end the world" guy. Specially since the 10,000 years of darkness is just Unavatuu throwing stuff.

from the theories i've seen, people think that if there was gonna be another avatar series, the next avatar would end up finding a way to restore the past lives because each avatar tends to become what they wished they would have been, in korra's case, she is more headstrong and face her problems head on like Aang wished he had been.

    • @alexlannister950
      @alexlannister950 3 ปีที่แล้ว +75

Personally I prefer watch a new show about the news Avatar that would have to face the harmonic convergence and would have to deal with Vaatu growing up inside them.
But i like this theory but i think is more like the present avatar tends to solve the problems the past avatar couldn't. Like Aang ended the 100years war, something Roku couldn't and Korra bring the Air Nation back, something Aang couldn't.

Each Avatar deals with some form of their/ the past Avatar's mistakes, choices/impact on the planet, and (to an extent) unfinished business:
    - *Aang* had to deal with Firelord Ozai and the Fire Nation's reign (due to Roku failing to stop Firelord Sozin). Aang was a pacifist and didn't like conflict too much and would sometimes over-think his responsibilities. He was sometimes unsure of the major importance on himself of being the Avatar and just wanted to be a normal kid. Aang had to learn that sometimes even if you don't want to you have to take up your responsibilities and get things done, and also that in certain circumstances action is needed and talking won't always be the answer. He also became good friend's with the Prince Zuko and this added in helping change the Fire Nation forever, moving forward.
    - *Korra* was headstrong, more aggressive (her Air-bending style is even aggressive), and was quick to jump into conflict or throw the first punch (as we saw when she visited Republic City for the first time) and not think about the consequences (pay attention to her conversation with Kuvira towards the end of their fight). She was happy to be the Avatar and thought others shared the same excitement. She had to learn to connect more to her spiritual side and learn that not everything can be solved by just beating someone up. (we're starting to see this now with how she thinks certain things through when facing a villain) She also had to deal with the results of the world like Republic city politics, society, etc. that Aang left behind. Books 3 and 4 will show more of her personal growth and her impact on the entire world going forward.
    - The next Avatar will likely have to go on a journey to reconnect the Avatar's spiritual line while also learning about his/herself along their journey which open's the door for more Avatar lore and discovery that we haven't seen yet. Also, Korra will be a lot more mature, experienced, and wiser (like Master Katara and older Aang) and have years of wisdom on her from conversing with Uncle Iroh in the spirit world when the next Avatar speaks to her. Jinora is also Korra's spiritual mentor so that adds to Korra's wisdom. The next Avatar will be speaking to a much wiser Master Avatar Korra.

Take the different contexts of ATLA vs LOK into account before casting judgement. Korra doesn't suck, she simply went through much harder challenges than most other avatars (apart from Huan). Aang had to defeat enemies like Zhao and Fire Lord, which ofc wasn't easy at all, but Korra had to defeat even more powerful enemies like Amon (a powerful bloodbender who could take people's bending away) and in this season she had to defeat Vatu, the literal manifestation of evil itself. Let's not even get into the horrible experiences she faced in the later seasons. And she had to do all this while being a 17 year old who ironically grew up more sheltered and controlled by adults around her than 12 year old Aang who had more freedom and worldly experience from getting to travel to other nations and meet many people before he was trapped in ice... Although in atla, Aang was also initially pretty trusting and eager to see the best in people, so he might have also ended up falling for Unalaq's bs.

Bolin's declaration of love to Eska after she saves him from a dark spirit mirrors his declaration to Mako upon being saved from an Equalist in "The Revelation", right down to his hand gestures.

Jinora got the teapot because a butterfly spirit was with her when Tenzin saved her and probably told her about Korra. The spirits probably were helping since we saw Iroh and one fox spirit (from the library) helping Aangs's children in the last episode. Iroh sent the butterfly to Jinora, she went to Iroh to take the teapot and helped Korra.

Also really cool fact if you remember from ATLA when the gaang goes to the air temple aang was born in, the avatar statues end after what would have been korras spot. Avatar: The Last Airbender Book One: Water Chapter 8: Avatar Roku (Winter Solstice, Part 2)
Roku: "Mastering the elements takes years of discipline and practice, but if the world is to survive, you must do it by summer's end."
Aang: "What if I can't master all the elements in time? What if I fail?"
Roku: "I know you can do it, Aang, for you have done it before."
This is by far one of the best things about Korra book 2, IMO. The realization that 8 years before it aired, the creators already had it embedded in the lore. Gives me chills every time.

I think the thing with jinora at the end was about hope. Korra was fighting unalaq/vaatu and got intimidated by him saying there's no more light, she was basically losing hope / letting dark emotions in. And jinora kept her positive energy at all times so to then show korra light would never be gone. She was like a little pick-me-up so to speak, like "hey don't worry, you got this, raava is right there if you believe strong enough"

the most popular theory about jinora realeasing all the light is that when she gave Tenzin & Co. that one light spirit to guide them out of the spiritworld she disappeard and started collecting light spirits and once she had some she projected her own spirit to republic spirit which can can do because at harmonic convergance the two worlds cross and once she arrived there she released all those light spirits to ''revive'' Raava inside of Vaatu or speed up the procces of her emerging within Vaatu

I mean if the writers really wanted Korra to not rely on them all the time, why couldn’t they not just have Korra announce to them that she wants make her own decisions and have herself choose to cut herself for the previous avatars and be on her own. Like what Aang did in the comics when he no longer saw eye to eye with Roku. Just killing off the other avatars just seems to there just for shock value and not much else.
