I like the idea. Quick polish change allows for versatility. It's a polish change, not a manicure, so the nail tech is still a necessity. No jobs lost
This! The moment I saw this video, it immediately got me worried for nail techs and professionals because of the possibility of the machines taking their jobs. My mom is a nail tech herself (with 15+ years working experience) and loves her job, so opening the comments and seeing how everyone is still supporting manicurists warms my heart. Ones like this taking the jobs into consideration have me reassured ❤

I think this nice for young kids. My niece likes her nails done but hates the salon cause the smell it to much for her.

Yup, came here for this comment, honestly painting my own nails is the easy part, I have a harder time shaping them so they are all the same length/shape, and then there's also buffing, evening out ridges and cutting cuticles, and when I do pay for a manicure there's also the hand massage and extras they do if I'm getting my nails done I want my hands/skin to look good too. Like another comment said I can buy a decent nail polish for $8 or $10 and do the work myself, or pay the $30-$50 to be pampered a little by someone else and have a relaxing experience
I’m going to try that if our Target has this. Even with my glasses or contacts, I can’t see well enough and my right hand always comes out worse. For $8, it’s a bargain!

The robot is only painting one flat colour on your nails for 10 dollars, nail techs can do so much more and they tend to cost alot more
That's always going to happen , from the beginning of time and the formation of human civilization new jobs came previous ones dissolved, and it will continue to happen . New fields of work will be available if something is replacing it

I used to have the same nail technician for 3 years. I loved hearing about her family and they always put movies on that I liked to watch. I was so sad to move. Tu was the best nail technician I ever had she could do anything

@@wonderfulday77 on the other hand, being a nail tech is really unhealthy so it seems like a great job to pass of to something not breathing the fumes. As long as we start with jobs that harm the human workers or undesirable for other reasons, I think we have a long way to go before AI takes over the world
Is nice to change nail polish color but I wouldn’t necessarily count it as a regular manicure since they don’t shape your nails , cut the cuticle, or massage your hand . I do my own nails most of the time but I still treat myself to a good manicure/ pedicure once in a while .

It's a nail painter
Please whatever you do, don't cut your "cuticles" - or what people mistakenly call the skin around your nails. That skin is living tissue that you need to protect against bacteria and infection. Removing it makes your body react in overprotection mode and makes that area (which is called the Proximal Nail Fold) to become thicker and grow even more sporadically, which then forces you to cut it even more and then it stretches out even crazier than before. Break the cycle, do not touch it. Leave it alone until it can repair itself.
Only push back the PNL gently with a wooden or glass manicure stick. This will expose the REAL cuticle underneath, which CANNOT be "cut" off, bc it's dead tissue that sits flat against your surrounding nail bed. You can either gently buff the dead tissue off with a nail buffer - please avoid nail drills unless applied with minimal pressure by a professional - or you can use an exfoliant solution like Blue Cross or ProLiant. The solution helps to soften the cuticles, so that they're easier to rub off. Lastly, apply cuticle oil or cuticle cream afterward.
I recommend watching "A Salon Life" to better understand how to care for your nails & hands. She gives great advice for overgrown or overstretched PNL, flaky cuticles, hardened skin, peeling nails, ridgy nails, dehydrated nails, yellowed/stained nails, damaged nails, white spots, etc. She's the QUEEN of gentle manis & natural pedis. Taking care of your hands & feet is the best and easiest form of self-care you can do. I'll never go back to gel or acrylic ever again. Only shellac or dazzle dry!

Not really. I mean for simple things like this a robot can do it but for personalized designs you’ll still need an artist. Plus I’m not sure how skilled a robot could be at putting on nail tips and doing massages ect. This is a cheap and quick manicure not a full experience.

The robot is awesome. Not everyone can afford or make time for a salon visit, this is a pretty cool solution.
Okay… I like this. It’s a polish change, doesn’t take a long time. Reasonably affordable. At a salon this could be done by the receptionist, leaving the more expensive and complicated services to the experts.
If you have a solid walk in clientele that likes to change things up, it’s perfect.
And you can always book people in while they’re there for manicures etc.
For $10 hell yeah it has a future last time I went to the salon they charged me $10 to remove my nail polish 😭😭

We pay £25 for gel nails full colour or white tip, American hair price is ridicules seen a hairdresser charge 12000 for colour and a treatment and said she is a small business, in the uk that business would flop, for a bleach a colour 1/2 colour depends on style, shampoo and conditioner and cut and products with blow dry £45-100, why is it so expensive to have things done in America?

Yss! I want to have pedicure done by it. I felt so awkward when someone was doing my pedicure from my very only one time experience. That's why I don't have it done, as well as manicure.

As someone who bought a gel kit at home because I HATE dealing with manicurists, i love this!!! You know exactly what you are paying for, you don't have to worry about the tip.
I've recently graduated as a nail tech and would like to run my own business- I have anxiety disorder and ocd so I can relate to not wanting deal with contrived/forced social interactions. When you say you hate dealing with manicurists, I'd love to know - what would help make it a better interaction from your perspective? I would love to learn how I can improve etc.

I've always felt it was a lot for people who don't know you to have to entertain you as well as being excellent at doing nails. So after some pleasantries, if the customer doesn't want to talk anymore or you don't, just look busy doing their nails and they will either watch you or watch t.v. I think if you are reasonably priced (not too expensive or not over the going rate), you'll do fine. My place decorates for Xmas, etc. Puts up cards they received on a bulletin board by the driers, etc. Good luck, hon. I hope you do well.
This is so disappointing and sad to read. Especially because there are so many kind hearted and hard working Nail professionals out there who care for their clients. I’m sure you’ve just had horrible experiences. Like wow..…clearly you don’t understand the hard work, expenses and dedication that goes into becoming a professional nail tech. Is the robot cool? Yes sure..especially since you don’t have to tip🙄…As a nail artist this is extremely rude. I can’t believe people like you exist and would even say such a thing. Do me and all other dedicated nail technicians that have put countless hours of work and study into their profession a favor ..and never go to another nail spa/salon ever again, at least not with that attitude and mindset you have. We would do so much better without you as a client anyway. Thank you, wish you the best. (And machine or not, just for that, I hope your polish would end up chipping either way😊)

Well, the problem is that it is only nail polish application. It won't prepare ur nails, won't do a manicure or anything. I don't know about US, but where I'm from an entire manicure with nail polish application costs 10€ too. Seems overpriced tbh for just doing nail polish

Aaaaaa this is awesome. Soon it will definitely be able to do the manicure too. If you combine this machine with a lens glazing machine, that's basically a manicure machine. And I'm definitely all for it, haven't been able to afford getting my nails done for a while now because of the prices nail techs charge and the cost of living blah blah but I'm very excited to see what the future will bring at low prices with these robots.
I love my vietnamese nail tech named Tina. She doesnt ever speak to me but she does a great job and I tip her very well. She doesn't understand much English but just enough to do her job and then go home and be a mother to her children and teach them their native language while they teach their mother more and more on English.
This isn't a manicure, it's a polish change.

I don't feel like this was a manicure. Just painted nails. To me a manicure is cleaning, shaping the nails, cuticle care, and them polish. Oh and a hand massage favorite part.

I hope not.I absolutely love the nail tech I go to. Jennifer is always honest when the style I choose is kinda wack or could do with a few changes. Obviously a robot won’t have that personal connection. Also robots focus on efficiency if something. Only allowing you to do shorter to medium nail styles

That's what I think. It's really annoying. Okay if she's rich. There's nothing wrong with being rich. She doesn't sound snobbish either. She seems like a good person. So there's nothing wrong with having money. Just some random 7 year old that for some reason doesn't like that.

I see this as something for a quick short-lasting nail job. Say I have an interview tomorrow but all the salons are closed, I pop into Target, get my nails painted and go on my way. Next week I get a second interview but with more time to prepare. Now I’m calling my local salon for a full set. (Actually I’m doing my own dip powder set because I hate my local salon, she uses her sister and aunt like slaves and I hate to be there.)
