I am a retired professional Firefighter and would like to commend you on constructing this burning structure. I am impressed! You have done an excellent job. I enjoy watching you fabricate all your buildings.
"Music wire"? - lol, I'll remember that when I need to re-string my "sonic stick"! Seriously, glad I watched this - stellar build and great techniques, especially the signs and silver foil....
That looks so cool on the layout and yes it did look like burning ambers on that beam. This is going to be hit with the people when you get to your friends place to display it. Thanks for sharing this awesome project. GOD BLESS 🚂💖👻💖💀💖🚂💖
Great work. I have seen a lot of layouts with houses on fire and firefighters attacking them, but this is the only one that really looks as a real fire
Thanks Dave for tutorial of burnt out building still smoldering, neat how use of aluminum foil has glowing embers from flickering light inside..liquid smoke once used in Lionel engine just adds final touches..
This is the first time I have seen someone do work on a burnt building. Excellent! I have been absorbing all your technics for my humble work. Thanks, Dave.
Great job Dave love your technique for painting and weathering plus erosion and burnt look P.s. Just a idea you should install mini cameras in train and layout so we can go along for the ride that would be so 😎😎😎😎😎
stunning, I have to work out how to make random LEDs twinkle for a fairy glade for the n scale section of the layout i am building for my husband. Ideas welcome. as long as they are simple, like me.
Ok, I'll admit it took me a few minutes to catch the word play there. Subtle but hilarious! This truly is an incredible layout Dave, thanks so much for allowing us to tag along on the build.
Love this one. Can't think of anything else to add. For smoke effects I have seen where someone used the parts from an electronic cigarette using just water, a little black ink would darken it too.😮. Thanks for sharing 👍
Absolutely incredible work you do . The one biggest quirk that I have with all rail dioramas is static people . They don.t move . this sucks . People need to move .
I think the snake would be better under the bottom step down at street level from where it is. Sort of just waiting for someone to come down the steps.👍👍👍
The layout will be on display in Riverside on May 6th. You need to contact Gary Beatty of Puerto Borracho Ry for directions. He's on TH-cam and Facebook.
¨Just coming from Dales 'Toy Man Television', he recommended to subscribe which I did promptly after seeing this video. Isn't buildings a relaxed nice way of modelling ?

It's piano wire. That's what it's called.

Another fantastic build. I did not know about the foil trick for the burning timbers at Disney ... interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I think that was my favorite build yet. You nailed every detail.
Hi Dave WOW!! That looks great. can we have a short snip-it of video showing the whole town lit up.
Just as it would be at a show. regards John

With all the characters and backstory for your layouts, you could have your own TV show!
Amazing that the old school FX still work in a small scale but it looks awesome!
