We have a lot of beautiful scenery to give inspiration on modeling terrain on model train layout. Awesome video! I have an upcoming scatchbuilt project, hopefully this next year, and you have given me a few new ideas for how to approach it. Thanks again for posting!

    Great work man!
I'd love to see a large section of a city like this, I'll have to check out your past videos I haven't seen too see if you have just that, a large ruined/war-torn city.

Walmart has that color of chalk paint as well as several more including white and their version of black called India Ink. I found a youtube tutorial on one of the model railroad engines that shows how to DIY one of the static devices for setting grass in place.

Wow! Exceptional workmanship Jason! Been a fan of dioramas for years but never built one. My father was a WW2 Aviator, few the Hellcat, Dauntless, Wildcat as well as many others. Was on the Aircraft carrier, the Lexington. I've built many WW2 & Vietnam era war plains but really want to start building Dioramas. Could you point me in which way to go, like where's the best place to buy materials like the high density foam and some kits. Sure love your work man, let me know, Thanks!

Thank you so much Jim!!! I really appreciate it! The foam I use comes from Home Depot. As far as model airplanes, I know that Ammo has kits but I’m sure there are tons of companies that sell them. Good luck and happy modeling Jim!

Watching all the fun you're having with these techniques, creating all the damage, something occured to me: could you incorporate these kinds of effects into your layout? Obviously, wartime damage doesn't fit the bill but maybe the aftermath of a serious storm?
A wartime location would probably make more sense but storm damage could throw up some interesting possibilities; with rooves damaged, interiors would be revealed; downed trees embedded in buildings, broken windows etc.
It's maybe not as great an idea as I thought when I started typing 😂but, rather than delete my comment, I'll leave it as possible inspiration for someone. It's certainly something I've never seen modelled.

I’m very excited to get back to working on my layout. I will definitely be using more foam in the future. Stay tuned……..
