The F-35 does have decent instantaneous turn rates but not good sustained ones. It bleeds way too much energy, doesn't have the T/W ratio other aircraft do and its wings are small.
@@peterc9243 huge wall of nopes. It's draggy but has a higher CImax than both the viper and the super bug. Also, higher lift available at all levels because of the full body lift design. You don't actually need the EOTS for the cruise missiles. Just lock onto a target in the TSD, GPS-Send it, put the circle of the missile on the triangle that is your GPS target, and shoot (it's GPS guided, after all, it doesn't need any optical help from the EOTS).
I honestly feel like I'm falling for someone I've never met every time I play the game. When I notice something like, how AI in formation have to follow all the same rules, and are kicking on their afterburner, adjusting flight lines, are affected by weight. How each plane has its temperament and needs. How the landscape is almost needlessly complex in potential, yet has bridges going through buildings, adding to its charm. How there's a map literally bringing Comona from Ace Combat 4 into the game. The quick save wheel. The middle finger gesture. The great and not so great wingman voices. Together it kind of speaks as to who this guy actually is, and it's hard not to love tbh.
I got VR and a new PC just for this game pretty much right after seeing the first video. It's *so* god damn fun. Fingers crossed for multiplayer hopefully one day... (if it keeps doing this well)
The cool thing about the F35 is that with the HUD in the helmet, you can see through the aircraft. So you can be flying along and literally see the ocean beneath you. Crazy shit.
I just want to say, your videos really help me with depression, I know this is such a cliche, but believe it or not, it really does, keep up your amazing videos.
Can you give orders to the wingmen? I'd have thought you ought to be able to hand off ground targets to them using datalinks, and receive targets from them also. Maintaining formation is useful, but not in the middle of a dogfight :) - can you give them tactical commands or order them to break formation and engage as they see fit?
you can! you can use the comms menu or the voice commands that come in the game. Before engaging i always have them spread far in the formation and you can order them to engage as well, pretty useful. you can order them to attack your target too, though i haven't messed around with that so maybe that could work like you described. Also there is a datalink

The T/W is flat out bullshit:
0.9 with full internal fuel
and 1.05 with 50% full load.
Jesus, if it's about the same weight (actually, less in combat load out) of a block 52 F16 with a much more powerful engine, how can it have a low T/W ?
The shilling against is going WAAAAAY too far now.
It's blatant by now: The F35A blew the 16 and 18 out of the water in any possible metric besides STR against a motherfucking clean F16 block 30.
CLEAN.
F-35 is one of my favorite jets. Loved this video
man I stopped playing this over a year ago..... think I may have to go check out the new things in it :3
I love how they edited the F-35 so they dont get a C&D or copyright by swapping the front and rear wings LOL
WHAT? They to change the design to not get copyrighted?
@@acefromwithin2079 if you swapped the front and rear wings it'd look like a F-35 so..yeah..
@@matty4z but why?

"Missile Launch"
Drew : "No Thank You!"
The avid DCS simmer watching: "Break! Jink! Stop driving!" :D
Play interstellar docking music when he goes to land on the oil rig xD
GPS guided bombs and Missiles bring a whole new meaning to the gps asking if you would like to remove a destination
I got VR and a new PC just for this game pretty much right after seeing the first video. It's *so* god damn fun.
Fingers crossed for multiplayer hopefully one day... (if it keeps doing this well)
Have you tried dcs in vr? Multiplayer does lower vr performance just a small bit but it’s amazing!
The cool thing about the F35 is that with the HUD in the helmet, you can see through the aircraft. So you can be flying along and literally see the ocean beneath you. Crazy shit.
I just want to say, your videos really help me with depression, I know this is such a cliche, but believe it or not, it really does, keep up your amazing videos.
never thought I'd appreciate a delta wing F-35
Next up the A-10 WORTHOG Drewski
I remember when the F45 first came out and everyone was flying it
Can you give orders to the wingmen? I'd have thought you ought to be able to hand off ground targets to them using datalinks, and receive targets from them also. Maintaining formation is useful, but not in the middle of a dogfight :) - can you give them tactical commands or order them to break formation and engage as they see fit?
you can! you can use the comms menu or the voice commands that come in the game. Before engaging i always have them spread far in the formation and you can order them to engage as well, pretty useful. you can order them to attack your target too, though i haven't messed around with that so maybe that could work like you described. Also there is a datalink
Dude. Lovely editing. Duuuuuuuuude
Love this game. I hope they add multiplayer and vehicles that take two players to properly man
EDIT: you said the exact same thing about multiplayer haha. Great video Drewski and I want to see more like it
Whats this game called? Is the Plane he flew an addon?
The_ Golfer_ the game is called VTOL VR. Its around $30 i think and the plane is not an addon. The game currently has three aircraft. The F35(or F45), the F/A 18, and the AV/42 C(vtol).
@@ChickentNug Thanks dude! I found the game prior to commenting but saw it only listed the AV/42 and the F/A 18 which are fun but they arent a modified F-35B.
I sell directly to Lockheed Martin and have been to the Fort Worth facility to see the MFG process first hand so that's why its a must haha
The_ Golfer_ haha nice. Well, if youve got vr, youve gotta try it
Well this aged very nicely didnt it 😂
More game play vids on this game would make me so happy
Trent Rouse check out the reddit channel or the discord for the game. Or my TH-cam channel for more gameplay vids. 😉
This game is solely the reason i want an HTC Vive.
I bought way more vr games than i would like to admit. The must have games are vtol vr , Pavlov, and onward, and beat sabre and blades and sorcery
@@ExergameStation I would say 'Hotdogs Horseshoes and Hand grenades' is also a must
A canard version of the F-35 is like a blursed image. I both love it and hate it at the same time
Ok this is the weirdest thing that has happened to me today. I JUST WATCHED THE ONES FROM A YEAR AGO TODAY...
Anyone knows what kind of VR Drewskis using?
Play DCS in VR! It’s such an awesome experience
This game in my opinion is better. It's not as in-depth but it was MADE for VR. I feel like DCS just added vr compatibility and it isn't as fun
Flying will remain one of the greatest feelings and escapes in the world. ONE of them
Nice! Guess I'll boot this up for the first time in forever to try this beast out! Have you tried DCS or IL2 in VR?
DCS is so realistic. Best sim in the world
I would like to see Drewski dogfight a Eurofighter! From both perspectives!
That helmet is really messing with my ocd.
I think thats because it records off of the right eye
@@ikecooper1608 probably
Finally picked this up, and man, I was thinking the stick and throttle would be an issue, it absolutely isn't an issue in fact, it was pretty comfortable to adjust the seat hight and just rest my hand on my leg since where you grab the throttle, is where the controller decided to control it from... This game is the shizzl3.
It's a F-35B with the C's nose gear.
😂
Not to mention the canards from a Chinese J-20 or a different fighter
22:15 *freeze frame,* *record scratch,* "hey, that's me, you're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation"
Hey Drewski (or anyone else) - from an older noobie, what VR system is Drew using? PS: Tks for the hours of entertaining videos ;-)
Lima’s 8k or oculus rift.
*pimax not Lima’s
Finally, ur so good at making good vr content
Hay you learned just like me with 8th grade math, just wing it no puns intended!
The F-35B really is a megestic aircraft…
yeah i love it too
it was a jet that got me interested in military aircraft
Me: hears the song
My brain: WHAT IS THE NAME OF THAT MATES
The little cinematic one at the beginning when he’s flying it through that valley is called Threads by Ebb and Flod
John sorry for a late responds but thank you SO MUCH my man 😁😁
It's so peaceful... I love it
I see you're getting into flight simulators ;) hint hint: DCS
he has played dcs for like 2 years.
yaaay more vr
its been too long
What's the music at 4:10?
Threads ebb & flod
Windows Speech Recognition used to use voice commands in VTOL VR.
Also, don't forget to use the helmet cam/augmented reality function in the visor to see through your aircraft while VTOLing.
