Just because something is explained in the manhwa doesn't excuse the flaws of the show itself. An anime should be able to stand on it own without needing help coming from outside the show itself.
@@videodimension69 no, i meant if the anime continues it'll all be explained. I know what i wrote was a little confusing what i actually meant was it's explained in future events in the manhwa
80 percent of the thing you complained about are only really complaints because the series isn't over yet. Also how is him beating igris him just getting mad. He simply suprised igris by wearing armor that gave him a special ability and then used the fact that his dagger is special to him to get the jump on him and kill him. Also cameras cannot be used in the dungeons as they are a seperate dimension. Sung's motivation is not just to save his mom but to see the real reason he got his second opportunity and that is the main focus later on. Him becoming less emotional and perfect is also perfectly explained later on but since im assuming you didn't read it you probably should and then see what it is actually about. I hope you can actually enjoy this series becuase it is written well
Just because something is explained in the manhwa doesn't excuse the flaws of the show itself. An anime should be able to stand on it own without needing help coming from outside the show itself.
your review is okay it just you're in a new era some of the points didn't make sense I read the manhwa it made sense when you keep reading it the plot is crazy going on but the anime doesn't really make sense in the beginning but when the story goes on you will enjoy I think so just keep watching you will like, or just have a different liking.
Just because something is explained in the manhwa doesn't excuse the flaws of the show itself. An anime should be able to stand on it own without needing help coming from outside the show itself. And well yeah maybe I will enjoy it more going forward , but 12 episodes is more then enough time to win someone over. If it can't do it by then you can't really blame people for giving up on it in my opinion.
I would compare Solo leveling to SAO. Sword art online was considered great until more, newer and better shows came out making it look bad. But Solo leveling is both still better and is still a really enjoyable read in my opinion. The animes only problem for me is that there isnt enough of it, and once many of the scenes are animated, it will probably be nearly as popular as JJK right now. In the future i would bet solo leveling will likely become less popular and consider more basic in a decade or two though. It is already starting to be called somewhat basic due to all of the clones that have been made of it with just a slight difference.
And regarding his criticism of the Gates being already classified at ranks. Many, and i mean many other anime’s do the same thing with Dungeons in your ordinary fantasy/adventure anime. And no Sung didnt win against igris by anger, it was a combination of things like luck, surprise, and his skills(i mean his literal skills like uses of his inventory retrieval)and regarding his personality criticism. His criticism of the is also dumb. Sung’s personality is more flushed out in the manhwa later on like other shows. One example is one piece, luffy is very one dimensional, but he is flushed out later on with Ace’s death, and One piece is consider a big three. The camera argument is flat dumb, who will supply the WHOLE world with cameras for millions of hunters, and furthermore whats stoping them from just breaking the cameras at the end and saying the gate monsters did, and they are not working trans-dimensionally
@@wingnuthasler "I'm happy that you found enjoyment with the show. I think our standards are just different. Back when SAO came out, I thought it was boring too. This type of 'story' just doesn't appeal to me. I prefer stories with interesting and well-written characters, and fights or action with stakes I actually care about. Of course, there is nothing inherently wrong about liking shows that are more simple in nature. The problem comes when people put them on the same pedestal as shows that just have a lot more thought and care put into them. Which is why I debunk 'Solo Levelling' the same way I would those shows."
Yeah the powerscaling is very 2D, i did like the anime and have now read the manhwa for it, there are certain explanations for your criticisms. It happens a couple times in the anime but becomes more apparent in the manhwa which is that the system doesnt wants him to live in order to become the host body for a god. However everything that happens outside the system is justified in your explanation, i believe it couldve been a top tier manga/anime if they stretched it out by another 100 chapters because even the main characters has pretty poor character development
Well if they did have a cooler explanation for it then him just getting angry enough like I thought they should have still showed that a lot better in my opinion. Besides just because something is explained or is better in the manhwa doesn't excuse the flaws of the show itself. An anime should be able to stand on it own without needing help coming from outside the show itself. I'm happy you got enjoyment out of it though.
It's pretty generic but it's made exactly for its fanbase. It's not meant for people that want great storytelling. It's for people that want action and video game mechanics Mostly teenagers
@@Ash_Wen-li Exactly, not even teenagers even per se. Cause when I was a teenager I hated SOA and that's pretty much on the same level of quality writing wise. Just a certain demographic. My issue is with the fact these people put it on the same pedestal as actually amazing anime.

There's also Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Monster, Ashita no Joe, Mushishi, Rose of Versailles, March Comes in Like a Lion and a bunch more. Imo Deathnote is a bit overrated. Still an 8 though
You're not wrong, it's very "written by an introvert"-esque. MC goes from being the weakest to the strongest just by having courage (with a ton of potential backstory-struggle summed up in like 15 seconds), fairly derivative in nature overall. That said, the manwha is great and some of the anime action scenes are done well. There's still a lot more to the story, but after being exposed to even just Naruto/Boruto, it feels like the same stuff just with a different angle and sped up way more quickly (MC gets power from a 'godly' being and is faced with countering their fate). Honestly the fan service hasn't been that bad with this one so far, and future seasons should focus more on the story but who knows... they gotta get views to fund the next season right?...
Lmao if you look at fanservice from that perspective maybe it is a nessecary evil. I appreciate you understanding my points. I have heard a lot of people say the manhwa is better and personally I have not read it so you guys could be right. Still as it stands I don't think the anime did a good job.
