Fantastic review which I needed. Have been trying to figure out if the 3.5 or. 3.7 would be better for my set-up. Thanks and keep up the great reviews and videos.
I bought the 3.5 reel. I put it on a Diamondback 10'10" 2 wt rod. I really like the feel and casting of this pair. Very good point about how the reel prevents the fine leader from getting caught in the reel. I am very happy with the craftsmanship of both the Diamondback rod and the Galvan reel. I highly recommend them if you are serious about Euro nymphing. The review was spot on.
Super well explained, more than marketing copy which is appreciated. On my list now, appreciate the detail.
Glad it was helpful!
This is a pretty informative and complete product review, which is done in a simple and easy to understand presentation. Well done (and thanks)!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Answered one of the biggest questions which for me was getting a 3.5 vs a 3.7 lol. Good job !

Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Hi Steve, I have a question: does the G.E.N. 3.5 spool fits a normal DT or WF 5 line without backing?
Thanks a ton!!! Is the spool tight to the frame? Does it have much play between them?
You wont have to worry about line slipping; this reel has a tight tolerance!
PBR is “push button release” not push button retrieve.
Yup, Steve misspoke. Too much PBR maybe
