Great build, of an amazing gift... To an amazing guy! Don't be surprised that people around the WORLD enjoy your builds. Stay STRONG & rest as necessary. Great to see you modify a build, keeps you on your toes😎😎😎😎😎😎😎 from da Bronx 😎
Nice job mate. Customers drawings are sacred and need to be exact. Ancillary drawings I used use as guidance, after all it was us guys that would use it. Glad to see you again mate 👍 See you soon.
First, like to thx our Creator for giving you the strength too be out in your shop and continue to draw us viewers and creators. I wanted to watch the complete, but my first round of chemo must have been concocted by Dr, Frankenstein him self. Soory Mate. hope to revisit over the wk end when I can set up without loosing my guts. Prayer's are most needed, Bear.
What a very generous subscriber Matty. Those kits are not cheap either. But better yet is that it gives you the incentive to get out into your workshop after your treatments without the worry of thinking of another project, sourcing materials and hardware, so that you can get straight on with the job. A generous and bloody good idea for your recovery Matty. So thank you whoever you are, because you will give us plenty of the usual entertainment from Matty's workshop! Ps I wish I'd have thought of that. Now I've watched the build mate you've made a nice job of that. Pity about the mistake, but as we all say, " Shit happens " lol. Good luck with your appointment this arvo, cheers from the UK Sam
Gday, These kits are going go be perfect, I can do a little bit and then come back to it, the generosity and support we have received is very humbling and I hope one day after all the treatments and im back in full swing I can help other that need support, Thanks for watching mate, Cheers
It is amazing the number of past jobs you could have used the new tool on. The generosity of viewers is helping keep content for us to watch. Thanks for sharing
Gday Rustinox, small Endmills never last long until they make themselves in to 2 pieces and decide to jump in the bin, Thanks for watching mate, Cheers
Good to see you back on your machines, Matty. Thoughtful gifts. Not always possible, but slitting saws can also make narrow slots. Also, a radius on the central nut paired with a matching female radius in the clamp would do the same as the filed radius. Many ways … Rooting for you!
Nice work Matty, and the finger plate is a nice project that can be made from scrap on hand as well. I would just make a threaded stud for the hole from brass, lock site or solder and file it flush. Clickspring has a vid on his design. for anyone interested. Enjoyed the vid, cheers mate!
Gday, this is the perfect build to use up off cuts and you really don’t need plans, I’m not really worried about the hole for now, thanks for watching mate, cheers
As others have said, Huge Thanks to whoever sent the kits in! Content for us, and focus for Matty!!! The project turned out really nice Matty! Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
The generosity of our viewers continually blows me away, I just bought an engineer's vice using the small donations that my viewers make. That is a nice little project and to be honest, I have been scratching my head just lately trying to think of a project to make, just found one 😁, I hope the treatments are going well and not knocking you around too much. 👍
Gday, the generosity we have received is very humbling, these kits will keep me active and motivated, the treatment has definitely knocked me around a bit but thats to be expected mate, Thanks for watching, Cheers
Gday Barry, These are perfect projects to keep me motivated and keep the mind working, the brain needs a tune up after making that mistake putting the threaded hole in the wrong side but ill have to keep double checking myself more now, Appreciate your support mate, Cheers
Looks like a beautiful, engineered item Matty. I'm a Civil Engineer but appreciate any engineering. You're a legend in our community. All the best. Paul, Scotland.
Well made Matty, I am sure over time you will find a use for the rogue hole, you will then know the reason you put it in the top face😉. Hope you are feeling OK bud. Cheers, Jon
Gday Jon, im feeling good now but that’ll change on Thursday when i get the next treatment, I’d say over time I’ll end up putting extra holes in the plate for different jobs, thanks for watching mate, cheers
Hi Matty, great to see you in the workshop, enjoying a build and customising the kit to suit yourself, I wouldn't have done the concave filing either cos I'm sure I've some spherical washers in the bottom of a toolbox somewhere as they are used for the injector clamps for an old Citroen van I used to have. You have inspired me for a little project of my own now as I'm sure I can find enough in my scrap bin to make one of those up. best wishes from the UK, Paul
Gday Robert, the kits are really well put together and the materials supplied have plenty of length to play with, appreciate you watching as always mate, cheers
Nice work Matty. If you ever get stuck machining a vee again, set the part in the vice at 45 degrees and use a standard end mill ( any size ) and use the Y axis.
Mate, you deserve all these gifts because you are the real deal , meaning your passion with machining is real and that is something you cannot fake. Keep up that Aussie slag too I piss myself every time you talk shit .
Gday, I dont change for the camera, what you see is just how it is, Quite often I dont know myself what's going to come outa my mouth which is a worry mate, Thanks for watching, Cheers
those kits look great. and you did a wonderful job machining it.. don't worry for a second about the *mistakes* because they're not.. they are what we call in my business "undocumented features".. you never know, some day you will need that threaded hole.. awesome work, keep it coming..
Hi Matt. We have some wonderful people in this world and the generosity is astounding. Hope the treatment goes well this week and you recover quickly. Till next time have a good week.
Gday, the generosity we have received has been very humbling and I cant thank everyone enough, I have my next treatment on the 21st, its going to knock me a bit but thats to be expected, Thanks for watching, Cheers
I've heard of the Hemingway kits but never tried one myself. That unit will come in handy for you for small bits. Looks like a good project for here too but it has to take a number, lol!
Gday, this was the first Hemingway kit I’ve done and I’m surprised how good they are, good instructions and plenty of length on materials, thanks for watching mate, cheers

Hi Matty, very kind and generous gifts. You'll find the Finger Plate very useful. I made one about 10 months ago. Not a kit though. I use it all the time on my bench drill. Wouldn't be without it now. I did a video on it as well. Hope your appointments go well for you. All the best mate. Cheers Nobby
Gday Nobby, I can think of many time this finger plate would of been handy to have on past builds, I do remember the plate you made, appointments are going ok thanks, chemo again next week so back to square one mate, cheers
G’Day Matty Hope you’re well Great video. Like your technique using the knurling tool Will do the same in the future. Sure beats tightening down on the nut Great work. 👍Ulladulla
Nice work Matty, Don't worry about the 'mistake' tapped hole, I reckon a few more 1/4 - 32 holes might be handy to give more options for positioning the finger clamp. You could also drill out the 'mistake' 1/4 -28 hole (UNF), plug it somehow and re-drill and tap it 1/4-32 as well. I made a 'clickspring' inspired plate a while back and am about to drill a few more tapped holes for the clamp post to give more clamping options - I'll send a photo when I've finished it.
Hi Matty, I ended up adding 4 x M8 threaded holes in a rectangle around the original central M8 hole and added 6 x 6mm alignment holes on one side - I don't use Instagram and couldn't find an email address to send a photo to - there's not much to it anyway, just turned into a micro fixture plate :)
Nice work Matty. As far following the plans exactly goes, I'd say 90% or more of the kit builders I see on here ether modify the kit or leave details out to suit their needs. For that "extra" threaded hole I'd loc-tite a screw or bolt in the hole, cut it off flush and then run a fly cutter over the top surface to blend it in and one ooops gone!
Gday, plans are only a guide and made to be modified so I have been told mate, I think I’m going to leave the hole there for now and it may possibly be handy in the future, thanks very much for watching, cheers
Gday Troy, I apologise I haven't sent the parcel your way yet but it will happen, I have another round next Thursday so ill probably go down hill for a few days, Thanks for watching mate, Cheers

G'day Matty. This is an excellent build. Whether drilled a hole in the wrong place or not, I don't think it matters, for that fact if you really needed it, just flip it over & drill the hole. 😂🎉 Great video, keep up the good work
Hey Great to see you Matty, Those Hemingway Kits look really nice, I might start collecting a few of them, good way to build up the toolkit . Stay well mate and nice job , Mike
It is nice to see that there are good people in the world. By the way for that hole you don't want, why not drill it out and plug it with a piece that is a press fit and file it smooth so it does not show. Cheers
Gday, there are still very kind people in the world and the support we have had here has been very humbling mate, one day I might fix that hole but then it might come in handy to, thanks for watching, cheers
Great job Matty. I doubt if anyone ever stays to the exact plan. Modify to suit yourself seems to be the general form. If you need the slots in that part you could always turn it on its side and use a slitting saw to do it. ATB with the treatment. regards from the UK
Hi Matty Great to see you doing well, had a look at the Hemingway web site and surprised to see they are local to me. Like you I can’t stand walking up to a dirty machine and I always have to clean up before finishing for the day. Holding small parts is always a nightmare and the finger plate looks just the thing. Keep going. Illegitimi non carborundum
Gday, I’m really impressed with the Hemingway kits, great written instructions and the build plans and spot on, I can’t stand starting the day off with dirty machines, it’s not hard to spend a few moments at the end of the day to do a simple clean, thanks for watching mate, cheers
Gday, Its not easy to not show the plans, I didn't give a slitting saw a bloody thought and perfect solution, Thanks very much for watching mate, Cheers
Gday, the finger plate is an enjoyable build, Im doing the die holder next but with a twist to the plans, Hopefully ill have it done by next Thursday, Thanks for watching, Cheers
Wow ! That will keep you busy for a time mate. Those Hemingway kits are not cheap mate. I know you got them as a gift but I wonder if they will just sell the drawings only and you buy the raw material from places you know locally
Gday, This is an incredible gift and there going to keep me busy for a while, I'm not sure if you can buy the plans only, they maybe have something on there website, thanks for watching mate, Cheers
Gday, Its a simple rule to follow and once your in the habit its easy to keep on top of the mess everyday, Im looking forward to the die holder and thats next at this stage but there's a bit of a twist with that build mate, Thanks for watching, Cheers
Yeah 3mm (and smaller) mills arent always happy with aluminium let alone steel. One should always have and extra 1 of whatever you have on hand. Even if it made me broke at some stage to have so much mills😂 oh well 1 recovers from that soon or eventually. I learnt also very quick to be patient with those sizes, doesnt pay to loose the concentration and send the poor mill to oblivion😅 peck away at the job one pass at a time, enough air and lube does it.but yeah we all do mess up good sometimes part of learning😅
Great build, of an amazing gift...

Gday, plans are only a guide and made to be modified so I have been told mate, I think I’m going to leave the hole there for now and it may possibly be handy in the future, thanks very much for watching, cheers
Well done Matty, another fantastic series. in our thoughts with the rust issue.
Gday Troy, I apologise I haven't sent the parcel your way yet but it will happen, I have another round next Thursday so ill probably go down hill for a few days, Thanks for watching mate, Cheers
Nothing to apologise for my friend, just glad to support a great creator! sort out the big things the little ones will sort themselves in due time @@MattysWorkshop
G'day Matty. This is an excellent build. Whether drilled a hole in the wrong place or not, I don't think it matters, for that fact if you really needed it, just flip it over & drill the hole. 😂🎉
Great video, keep up the good work
Gday Ted, it turns out I didn’t need that feature the hole was for but shit happens mate, thanks for watching, cheers
Hope you are doing great today Matty, best regards from Florida,USA....Paul
Gday Paul, going alright mate thanks, just poking along gently, cheers
*_Thats a great little fixture. I'm going to make one._* 🤙
Gday, definitely worth making one for sure mate, Thanks for watching, cheers
Great video Matty, I hope today went well for you.
Gday, my next treatment is next Thursday, appreciate you watching mate, cheers
Hey Great to see you Matty, Those Hemingway Kits look really nice, I might start collecting a few of them, good way to build up the toolkit . Stay well mate and nice job , Mike
Gday, The Hemingway kits are well put together and the instruction are easy to follow, Thanks for watching, Cheers
Thanks matty for another awesome video.
Appreciate you watching and commenting mate, Cheers
It is nice to see that there are good people in the world. By the way for that hole you don't want, why not drill it out and plug it with a piece that is a press fit and file it smooth so it does not show. Cheers
Gday, there are still very kind people in the world and the support we have had here has been very humbling mate, one day I might fix that hole but then it might come in handy to, thanks for watching, cheers
Cheers, Matty. Thanks. And thanks to your subscriber for their surprising generosity.
Gday, this was very generous mate, thanks for watching, cheers
Great job Matty. I doubt if anyone ever stays to the exact plan. Modify to suit yourself seems to be the general form. If you need the slots in that part you could always turn it on its side and use a slitting saw to do it. ATB with the treatment.
regards from the UK
Gday, I do think we all just use plans as a guide, I honestly didn’t give a slitting saw a thought and know I wish I did, thanks for watching, cheers
Congratulations on Christmas coming early. You have an incredible benefactor.
Gday, It was defiantly Christmas in a big way, I can't thank my viewers enough for the generosity and support we have received mate, Cheers
Hi Matty
Great to see you doing well, had a look at the Hemingway web site and surprised to see they are local to me.
Nice kits :-) qudos for not showing plans on camera
For small grooves like those in the clamp, use a slitting saw of appropriate thickness
Gday, Its not easy to not show the plans, I didn't give a slitting saw a bloody thought and perfect solution, Thanks very much for watching mate, Cheers
I want one! I have the kit for the die holder sitting in the shed for when I get time. Can't wait to see how you fare with that build!
Gday, the finger plate is an enjoyable build, Im doing the die holder next but with a twist to the plans, Hopefully ill have it done by next Thursday, Thanks for watching, Cheers

Gday, I've defiantly modified this build to suit my screw ups mate, ive gotta double check myself more often noe I think, thanks for watching, Cheers
Great Channel Matty.
Thanks mate

Marty, outstanding channel! Small End Mill for that tiny slot? Could you use a Slot cutting tool? thanks for the videos!
Gday, You could certainly use a slot drill, Appreciate you watching, Cheers
Very nice. Hope you are doing okay.
Thanks very much mate, Im doing ok overall, Cheers
Yeah 3mm (and smaller) mills arent always happy with aluminium let alone steel. One should always have and extra 1 of whatever you have on hand. Even if it made me broke at some stage to have so much mills😂 oh well 1 recovers from that soon or eventually. I learnt also very quick to be patient with those sizes, doesnt pay to loose the concentration and send the poor mill to oblivion😅 peck away at the job one pass at a time, enough air and lube does it.but yeah we all do mess up good sometimes part of learning😅
Gday, Small Endmills never last long here, definitely a major consumable in my workshop, Thanks for watching mate, Cheers
How are you travelling with the rust issue Matty? I'm hoping its all good news.
Gday, The last week hasn't been to bad and next treatment is next Thursday, im running out of energy a lot quicker then normal thats for sure, Cheers
Im thinking of you old mate. You are not in this fight alone.@@MattysWorkshop
