1725 the quintessence of the style. Interestingly, in an attempt to brighten my mood over the last couple of days, I cracked open the cellophane on a vintage 1994 bottle of Adidas Sport that I've been saving for just such an occasion. Warm, spicy amber and sandalwood with a juniper kick and some tomato leaf at the top. Barbershopy, but without the lavender. Cheap and synthetic smelling - yes - but ohhhh-so-comforting. 🌞
What a banger of a list..💥💥💥 you have left us on a great high. All the best Sebastian this coming week. Looking forward to the announcement. Could it be you have finally released your own fragrance? 😉😃
People say JPG’s Le Male is dated but I have loved it for years; in contrast, I bought Dior Savage, which I’ve seen described as an amber fougere scent and I can’t stand its heady, thick, cloying smell now. I’ve just ordered a decant of E & B Egypt, thanks to your video.
Some great ones in this list. Really like Pegasus, Prada Amber, Pasha, Héritage, Naxos, and Egypt. I love Egypt so much that I even have a backup bottle. Have you tried Tragedy of Lord George? That one came to mind instantly when you mentioned this style
appriciate your content so much sir, keep rock! asked in your other oriental video as well, but i wanna know from these as well! if im a 24 yr old that has le male as a all time favorite, which of these would u recommend to me sir?
Great Vid! I am falling in love with Ambre's. Take as much time as you need to get prepared (though you don't need my blessing). Look forward to whats to come!
I own and enjoy about half of these fragrances already, and I hope to try the other half of them eventually. Lalique Pour Homme EDP is truly one of my favorite fragrances. I believe that this style of fragrances is one of my favorites.
Hit or miss amber fougere by Romero Britto - Britto Man. My favorite and unfortunately discontinued. Selling for 4-5x what retail was. If you’ve smelled it, what are your thoughts? What might be a replacement? I do not want to venture towards the JPG Le Male line. Thanks.
Hi Mr Sebastian.. Good day to you.. 😊👋🏻 Feve Delicieuse by Dior didnt make it in your fougere list.. I’m thinking the same way.. For me it’s more to gourmand side.. 😊 I’m enjoying watching your videos Mr Sebastian.. Can’t wait for your next videos.. 🥰👍🏻
Is there any perfume that is not warm and spicy scent to it. I'm not really fond of warm and spicy fragrance. Any suggestions on fresh, soapy, cool and floral fragrances for me
Nice list, I guess you use the lavender concentration to distinguish fougeres from orientals. I also like Sartorial and Mancera Black Gold as part of this fragrance genre
Sebastian thank you so much I’ve been waiting on this list as Amber Fougere are one of my favorite fragrance categories.. I was honestly thinking Boise du Portugal and or New York intense would top the list but regardless I love your choices. Aside from the above mentioned I most enjoy 1725 as well as as eight and Bob and the Prada. I love wearing 1725 on a Sunday morning when I’m off and spending time with my family I find it relaxing and my go to day off scent in the cooler weather. Thanks again.
I love this video! I didn't even consider amber fougeres but your list has me so curious. As a women I don't wear fougeres too much (Russian Leather/Memo, At the Barber's/Replica), but now I have to try Nilufer du Nil and Naxos.
I never thought of this as a genre, but it must be one of my favorites as I have a good many of them. Prada Homme brings back so many good memories when I wear it, so does Heritage and Le Male. I'm gonna have to check out that Le Galion. Thanks Perfume Guy!
I freakin' LOVE amber fragrances. I'm not great with classifications or differences between fougeres and chypres and orientals. I have a few amber fragrances but I don't really know if they'd be amber/fougeres, so this video really helps me to distinguish between them. Some of my favorite amber fragrances are Lubin's Akkad, Gallivant's Tokyo, Carner Barcelona Megalium, Les Histoires De Parfums 1740, Goldfield and Banks Desert Rosewood.
If you can get your hands on it - Brilliantly Britis by Penhaligon's is quite nice. Just lavender and toffee (rather like opening a box of old school toffee/English style fudge), but works like a charm.
Interesting category, though I honestly find it confusing. For example Prada Amber is mostly powdery to me, so the name 'Amber" seems kind of a misnomer for the fragrance, just to me that is. Also drydown of the Pasha I find somewhat similar to Sauvage Elixir. But Elixir not in the list, maybe too spicy, or not as ambery/fougery as the Pasha?
Not as sweet but Beau de Jour is one of my favorite Lavender forward barber shop style fragrances. I haven’t smelled or own many of the fragrances on your list but Pasha De Cartier Parfum, Le Male and Prada Amber are all excellent.
Not really. Amber fougere is amber notes with fougere barber shop notes. Think amber, vanilla, resins, balsams with lavender, tonka, geranium perhaps. Ambroxan is a synthetic form of Ambergris they are different. It's not to say amber fougere's won't ever have ambroxan but amber fougere doesn't refer to ambroxan! :)
I love this perfume I live Australia could please share the link for me to buy this perfum- Le Galion - Special for Gentlemen Eau de Parfum 100 Thank you
Lalique Pour Homme is one I think I’m going to have to get my nose on. On the other end of the price spectrum, I have and absolutely love Danger Pour Homme. ❤️
Yes, Danger Pour Homme is a wonderful amber fougere. Nothing wrong with cheapies, but Lalique Pour Homme turned out to be a disappointing blind buy for me.
I hope you are doing well its been almost a week now since your last video am getting worried about you, hope all is well and you are just taking a holiday 🙏
When I hear the term ‘“barbershop” fragrances I always think old and/or inexpensive. I’m gathering that is a judgment on my part that is inappropriate ‘
Greetings from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 It's very peculiar to me that you didn't review any of "Stephane Humbert Lucas 777" fragrances yet!! Hope you'd do it soon 😻🙏🏼 Have a good one as you usually say ❤️
No, not Xerjoff Naxos for me in this category. Even though it has lavender and tobacco, it doesn't really manifest the Fougere accord. I have it grouped with my other sweet tobacco fragrances - in fact Naxos is my favorite Sweet Tobacco frag. Instead, I would recommend another lavender-tobacco fragrance that DOES manifest the Fougere accord: Fougere Nobile by Nobile 1942. I have that one in my Barbershop Fougere collection. For a Lancome representative, I would suggest Lancome Sagamore. Its listed on Fragrantica as a chypre, but the amber accord is turned way up to 3rd in the stack listed on Fragrantica. It has lavender, and a whole lot of spices, herbs and florals. It's an absolutely beautiful fragrance that beat the formula that became Creed's Green Irish Tweed 1n the mid 1980's. I recently acquired a bottle and wore it. A few notes about a few of the others: Pour in Homme de Caron (1934) has lavender that is just too raw and exposed to me. It smells like my lavender deodorant stick. Just pure lavender and vanilla, instead of well-blended lavender and aromatics like Tom Ford Beau de Jour and Creed Bois du Portugal. I joke that Pour in Homme de Caron smells like a Perfumery school student's first lab experiment. Guerlain Heritage is very nice, the creamy smooth lavender with the spicy aromatics that give it that "historical", or classic vintage vibe worthy of the name Heritage. Lalique Pour Homme lion is very nice. Basically a near-clone of Bois du Portugal, and that says it all right there. Roja Danger has a very nice drydown, but typically cumin and animalics send me screaming into the good night. But based on my test wear, they are controlled well, and as I said, the drydown was very nice. Don't forget, Tom Ford Beau de Jour, my favorite barbershop Fougere, has a nice amber note.
Prada Amber Pour Homme is so good, very underrated compared to Prada L'Homme, I much prefer Amber Pour Homme though. Pegasus is a very as well along with Lalique Lion. I never thought of this as a style of perfume, thanks for the video.

How did the E&B Egypt treat ya?
I'm so excited to see what you have up your elegantly scented sleeve!
I love Enclave and L'art de la Guerre. Jovoy is really a great house!

Awesome list as always Sebastian!🙏 Gave me new houses and reminded me of others I’ve meant to look into, love your taste 👌
Awesome list as always. I would also recommend 'Sartorial' from Penhaligons.
I’ve been dying for you to try Ermenegildo Zegna Essenze Florentine Iris!
I tried it when it first launched here in SF but it got pulled and I haven't seen it since then! :(
Grand soir should be in the list or even in top 5. It is one of the sexiest ember fragrances. Just so gorgeous.
appriciate your content so much sir, keep rock!
asked in your other oriental video as well, but i wanna know from these as well!
if im a 24 yr old that has le male as a all time favorite, which of these would u recommend to me sir?
How about Pasha De Parfum by Cartier. Quite modern and classic at the same time. I recommend that one. Or you can also try Egypt by Eight & Bob! :)

Any recommendations for a fragrance similar to Armani Mania men please?
EEk gosh I can't remember that fragrance! :(
Pasha de Cartier parfum is amazing . I am waiting for it to appear at discounters in my area .. The quality & performance on it is next level ..
Whoa! I was just looking into Eight&Bob Egypt! What are the chances? I hear good things! I can’t wait to get my sample now.

Lorenzo villoresi musk... you have to try .. my favorite fragrance
I tried it when I was there and shot this video: th-cam.com/video/8reqROphCmc/w-d-xo.html
I want to try Egypt and special for gentlemen
Very Nice Sabastian!
Recently i have tried Barreur from Eauk , a german house, quite nice smell innthis category
Thanks for this video! I like the genre but find JPG Le Male too sweet for everyday wear. Good to learn about some others.
Great list but I'm surprised that MDCI invasion Barbare isn't included. I would like to hear your view on this

Which one of them are beast mode? 😬❤️

is amber fougere related to newer
ambroxan fragrances? I hear the word amber thrown around a lot without a lot of clarity on its relation to ambroxan
