I tried ombré Nomade at the mall early into my fragrance journey and I wasn’t ready for it. That day I ended up walking out with Tom Ford’s tobacco vanille. As I’ve developed my nose I think if I walked into the mall today owning neither fragrance, Ombré Nomade is what I’d end up walking out with. It’s truly amazing (though I do love tobacco vanille)

Apollonia is a great fragrance and perfectly unisex and I love it one myself or my wife, whom I gave it to after owning it 2 years. I love it and can't see how anyone would not like it. If you are a man and wear Prada Homme, this is an upgrade! The only thing that made me give the bottle to my wife is that I came across Roja Turandot, another Iris fragrance but more complex with cranberry and pencil lead over a bed of iris. My wife loves Apollonia and made it her signature scent. I am so happy because I love smelling its on her!

Never ever will a bottle of 4711 Eau de Cologne cross my German threshold. It reminds me of dark times, when nothing else was available and you had a bottle of it in your glove compartment in case the car broke down and there was no water to wash your hands. They can put pineapple or other fancy things in it, it`s still the typical 4711 scent. Thanks for your fun videos!

You know, I kind of extracted an indirect compliment for myself out of this. When you referred to a possible "newbie." And I realized that, about two years into this, my tastes and experience have definitely evolved past total newbie. Nothing (ever) like as experienced as you, but very much thanks to you I've learned to appreciate some slightly "challenging" fragrances, some peculiar niche things probably not "crowd-pleasing," etc. It was a nice realization. By the way, something from Zoologist I very much liked (had a sample) and never hear much talk about is Seahorse.

I agree with you 100 percent on Apollonia, I would like to add to that it’s a great scent and what it’s trying to capture it does it perfectly, it really feels and smells like the moon and what its atmosphere would feel like , it has a cooling grey vibe that’s so dope . I think it’s really nice but sadly it’s not loud but it will surprise you if you spray a lot I’m talking a lot though so it can get kinda loud if you desire to make it loud.

I absolutely CANNOT STAND “El Cosmico” by DS&DUGRA. It’s sour, moth ball-y, and acrid. It seriously reminds me of vomit and It’s so strong too!
I made the mistake of putting it in the sample jar I have in my guest bathroom - for friends to try and take - and it completely ruined my friend’s evening when she sprayed it on herself thinking it was going to be a space themed scent. It completely stunk up my entire house with its putrid bile odor and my friend had to stay outside on the patio for the rest of the night. I threw the sample out immediately after everyone left. 😅

That band-aid smell occurs in red wine as well. It is caused by a set of chemicals known as ethyl-phenols which only occur in red wine and are produced by a yeast called Brettanomyces bruxellensis. Affectionately known as “Brett”, these aromas can enhance a wine in mild form but quickly become unpleasant in larger concentrations.

Ombre Nomade is so good. I have over 365 bottles in my collection and like to rotate through my collection so using a bottle once a year is not uncommon for me. When I bought this I wore it for 5 days straight which is extremely rare. I think it may be newbies that aren’t ready for this yet but everyone has different taste also. I am a fragrance newbie. I bought samples to try things out. Now, I have a plan.
I tried TF’s Ombré Leather. Not for me. Someone on Fragnatica said it smells like a cobbler’s shop on a summer day. I agree.😆. That stuff is so potent and hard to remove from skin.
Zoologist’s Tyrannosaurs Rex starts smelling like camphor (think old school Campho Phenique), then smells like a campfire. Not for me.
My daughter has banned me from wearing Zoologist’s Elephant if she’s home.😆.
Byredo Sundazed is not for me. It smells like orange cotton candy.
The only scents I can wear from Kayali are Lovefest Burning Cherry 48 and Eden Juicy Apple 01. (I haven’t tried the new pistachio perfume, so I don’t know if I can wear it.)
I understand the patchouli comment. Sometimes it’s beautiful. When it’s not beautiful,🤮.

Eventually it clicked for me, and I plan to buy a bottle later this year. I have a sample of the Extrait which I’m not sure about. It ups the latex smell and has a weird peppery note to me. It takes a long time to develop into something I enjoy. We’ll see.

Baccarat was my first $$$niche fragrance and I fell in love but I hate most baccarat dupes especially Burberry Her. I only get the synthetic strawberry note that makes feel sick and reminds me of something from childhood lol. To me my favorite baccarat dupe is (especially if I wanna be able to smell myself) Amber oud Rouge by Al Haramain. I love that it has a bit more body to it when I'm feeling bossy lol.

About APOLLONIA I'm in the middle. It's so subdue though I don't know how you could ever possibly attribute the word HATE to it; that's relatively wild. Hate should be reserved more for the harshly synthetic fragrances like Erba Pura. When I got my sample of Apollonia I just sort of shrugged and thought "Another powdery one... unexciting". Didn't help that I got it in the same sample pack as Pikova Dama and Ivory Route which all felt in the same vein of powdery and a bit boring.

I have a 10ml decant of Red Tobacco. The first time I sprayed it, l barely managed to resist the urge to wash it off. After a while, (a long while😂) I liked what was left on the skin. I tried it again a few months later, and the experience was better, but will never be a favorite. I will continue to try it.
On the other hand, Side Effect by Initio was a scrubber! I couldn't get it off me fast enough! I don't think my nose will ever mature enough to wear this!
Baccarat Rouge 540......I can't smell it after one minute. In fact, the only thing I DO smell, is a slight body odor smell.........😮

Two designer fragrances at the top of my dislikes:
    - Mugler A*Men: love drinking coffee and the smell of coffee, but not only I get absolutely no natural coffee smell from it, I get a distinctly clear piss vibe in it. Awful nuance to my nose, absolute nope. Fortunately I don't get anything at all remotely similar to such offputting dna in Pure Havane and Pure Malt.
    - D&G Light Bleu Eau Intense for Men: the worst type of fishy/sweaty/aquatic, this one effectively smells bad to me, as in some sort of slightly rotten fishy stench in it. Can't stand it.
I have retried smelling those two over time and they remain as despicable as ever. Doubt I will ever come around them.
Pasha de Cartier parfum is one great classy elegant scent. Red Tobacco as well as PdM Carlisle I think are wonderful fragrances. And I love Kerosene Follow but have not yet smelled Followed. And I have smelled LV Ombre Nomade and liked it, though I think not really easy to wear.

These hate comments are hilarious. I can’t think of a “hate” because the scents that I’ve let go or stayed away from are more of a “not for me” or “not fully convinced ‘like’” - the cloying sweets like PdM Delina, Love Don’t Be Shy, LVEB; the screechy overbearing man-spreading Creed Aventus, Dior Sauvage; the Tom Fords mainly because they are overpriced; the Jo Malones and Kayalis because they cannot stand on their own (I must admit that I have not smelled all of them, maybe only around 60% but still. Who knows, I might change my mind about them at some point and appreciate them for me or my man? Fragrance preferences and appreciation evolve over time.
P.S. I’m guessing that references to ‘cologne’ could be from those parts in Europe where traditionally men’s fragrance are called colognes. Traditionally, but less of that reference now.

Perhaps the very first fragrance I bought going by a review of yours: Jovoy's La Liturgie des Heures. Big disappointment. Yeah, I guess I hate it, I'm sad to say (my next buy on your recommendation was fantastic: CdG Rouge). I was attracted to both La Liturgie and Rouge because I love the smell of frankincense and myrhh. Rouge came through wonderfully, with that frankincense and beets of all things. But La Liturgie...? Like PineSol. Choking antiseptic bathroom-cleaner piney (I guess it's the cypress). Still have the bottle and don't know what to do with it. Beautiful presentation, by the way. But the juice gags me. What I learned from both La Liturgie and CdG Wonderwood is: be extremely careful with "woods". A bit of wood is enchanting, but anything that makes you feel imprisoned in a cedar closet all day, or in a bathroom that's been drenched in PineSol---ugh!!!
