    I don't worry about simple sugars since I don't use them as food but only as fuel. During training I use fuel. That may extend to pre- and post workout nutrition to some extend. Outside of training I consume food. Food should be low on simple sugars and high on veggies and contain stuff like protein and healthy fats.

      Love it. Sounds like your outside-training nutrition is sufficiently dialed in. :)

    High quality content as always. Would love to see a video on how to make your own electrolyte/carbohydrate mixes at home, or ways to improve existing products that might be lacking in sodium or carbohydrates. Looking forward to the upcoming videos!

      That video is coming soon! You might also like the app we've written. One of it's primary functions (besides telling you how much carbs, sodium, and fluids you need for your training) will be to act as a calculator for this kind of math in the kitchen.
      "Add 2 scoops of usual drink mix, plus 3/8 tsp salt for this ride" kind of thing. If you're interested in beta testing pre-release (free), you can sign up for our app beta waitlist here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe3S62qJ-v5wA3Y0_JSLugIhQerbudYTmYqsY8k1JRXh0OVpg/viewform

      It's pretty simple, I do 2:1 maltodextrin to fructose plus sodium citrate, make to volume with water. Takes great. Watching that videos though I'll try putting up the fructose content to 1:1, can't handle the sweetness of sucrose I think. So basic recipe, 30g fructose, 60g maltodextrin, 4g sodium citrate in a 1L volume, sometimes I'll do 500ml if it's not hot

    Was hoping for a less sciency video and rather "consume this concoction sugars during intense workouts." Do we have this? Thanks!

      Yes we do, it's our app. :)

    I’m wondering what the research says about the effect of maltodextrin on the good gut bacteria. In my personal experience, I noticed it changed my digestive system off the bike a several ways.

    do you have strange taste in your mounth after drinking such home made carbs drink? (5:4 - 2:1 ratio) ? Is it acidity ?
    do you add someting to the drink to alleviate this taste? (maybe bicarbonate of soda?)

      We use sodium citrate. It's the best option for sodium anyway. :)

    Can I just use sugar cane with water and sodium for my carbs? Do I really need to buy dextrose products or gels for fueling?

    • @Saturday_ProFuel
      @Saturday_ProFuel  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep, you can, and that's exactly what we do. No need to purchase dextrose or gels.

    I feel I'm dehydrated all the time and when I drink water it just bloats me most of the time. I have stomach ulcers. I heard that dehydration can be related to stomach ulcers sometimes. If you was me what would you recommend to get back hydrated please and thank you.?

    • @Saturday_ProFuel
      @Saturday_ProFuel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is this during exercise? If not, consult a medical professional! Also, food for thought: stress is highly related to gut issues. Sometimes so much so that stress management resolves them completely. Might be totally irrelevant to you and is definitely not medical advice!

      @@Saturday_ProFuel yes during exercise if I went too hard. And if I don't eat for 3 hours I get a weird rumbling half of the time if I wait that long. I'm working with a medical professional but we are at a stand still. He put me on some heartburn medicine for it helps some but just checking out other ways also.

    What about honey that is 60% fructose 40% glucose, is it ok if there is more fructose?

    • @Saturday_ProFuel
      @Saturday_ProFuel  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that works well too. It will be worth testing during your training because some athletes can be slightly sensitive to more fructose. However, honey can be a good option and can fit in a fuelling plan.

    What is better dextrose Vs maltodextrin

    • @Saturday_ProFuel
      @Saturday_ProFuel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The difference is the length of the molecule. Maltodextrin is longer than dextrose. This means that dextrose may be more quickly used, but it is also slightly sweeter.

    Yeah...but, I run on fat. ZERO carbs.
    Do I still throw down a couple sugar cubes with my 5g of sodium before a 1 hour Motocross race?
