මේ ප්‍රදේශය අයිති වෙන්නේ නකල්ස් රක්ෂිතයට. මුහුදු මට්ටමේ ඉඳන් මීටර් 1265 ක් ඔබව ඉහළට එක්කගෙන යන්නයි මේ හදන්නේ. රිවස්ටන් දුර්ගය, කඳුවැටිය සහ පිටවල පතන කියලා මේ කියන හරිය ප්‍රධාන කොටස් තුනකට වෙන් කරලා කියන්න පුළුවන්. අද ඔබට කියන්න හදන්නේ රිවස්ටන් දුර්ගය සහ කඳුවැටිය ගැනයි. මේ පළාත නුවරඑළිය වගේම බටහිර රටවල දේශගුණය පවතින ප්‍රදේශයක්. කෙටියෙන්ම කියනවනම් සීතල ප්‍රදේශයක්. බටහිරට ආපහු යාම සිහිගන්වන බැවින් රිවස්ටන් කියන නම හැදුණා කියලයි තතු දන්නෝ අපිට පැවසුවේ.
මේ ප්‍රදේශය අද වන විට රිවස්ටන් කියලා හැඳින්වුවත් මෙහි භාවිත වන නම වෙන්නේ බටඅඬුව කන්ද කියන නමයි. මේ බටඅඬුව කන්ද හෙවත් රිවස්ටන් කන්ද ජනප්‍රිය වෙලා තියෙන්නේ එහි ඉහළට ගියාම තියෙන බටඅඬුව සුළං කපොල්ල නිසාවෙනුයි. මේ කන්ද මුදුනට කිලෝමීටරයක් විතර පයින් තමයි යන්න වෙන්නේ. පයින් යන ප්‍රදාන මාර්ගයට අමතරව ගහකොළ පිහිටි කුඩා අතුරු මාර්ගයන්ගෙනුත් ඉහළට යන්න පුළුවන්. මේ රිවස්ටන් කඳු මුදුනට ගියාම මානිගල, දුම්බර කඳුවැටියේ සුන්දරත්වය ඔබගේ නෙතට රසඳුනක් එකතු කරනවා. ඒ වගේම ඇටන්වල ගම්මානයත් මේ ස්ථානයට හොඳින් දැකගන්න පුළුවන්. දූවිලි පොදක්වත් නැති මේ ප්‍රදේශයේ තියෙන සිසිලසෙන් ඔබගේ ගමන් විඩාව තුරන් කරනවා පමණක් නොවෙයි ගල් පර්වතවලින් නැගෙන සීතල සිසිල් දිය දහරාවලින් මුහුණ සේදුවාම දැනෙන සනීපය වචනවලින් විස්තර කරන්න නොහැකියි. ඒ වගේම රිවස්ටන් කඳු මුදුනට නැග්ගම ලකේගලත් පසෙකින් පේනවා. මේ රිවස්ටන් කඳු මුදුනේ පිහිටි ස්වාභාවික සුළං ධාරා උපයෝගී කරගෙන අපේ හෙළයේ මහා නායක රාවණා තමන්ගේ විමානය හෙවත් දඬු මොණරය අහසට නැග්ගුවා කියලා කතාවකුත් වැඩිහිටියන් පවසනවා.
මේ ප්‍රදේශය නරඹන්න යන්න හොඳම කාලය වෙන්නේ ජනවාරි සිට අගෝස්තු දක්වා කාලයයි. මොකද වැසි සහිත කාලයේ ඔබ මේ ප්‍රදේශය නරඹන්න ගියොතින් හිටි ගමන් මීදුමෙන් වැසෙන නිසා මීදුම හැර කිසිවක් දැකගන්න ලැබෙන්නේ නැහැ. ඒ වගේම මේ ප්‍රදේශය නරඹන්න යනවානම් උදෑසන යන්නත් අමතක කරන්න එපා. මොකද හවස දෙක තුන වෙනකොට බොහෝවිට මේ ප්‍රදේශය මීදුමෙන් වැසී යනවා. මේ කඳු මුදුනට නැග්ගම ටවර් කුලුන පිහිටලා තියෙන තැනට යන්න ඔබට පුළුවන්. එතැනට ගිහින් බැලුවම ඔබට එක පසෙකින් වියළි කාලගුණය තියෙන ප්‍රදේශයකුත් අනෙක් පසින් ශීත කාලගුණය පවතින ප්‍රදේශයකුත් එකවර දැකගන්න අවස්ථාව තියෙනවා. මේ තත්ත්වයන් දෙක ඇතිවෙලා තියෙන්නේ දුර්ගය හරහා හමා යන සුළං ප්‍රමාණය හේතුවෙන් කියලයි තතු දන්න අය පවසන්නේ. මේ පෙදෙසටම ආවේණික ශාක වර්ග සහ සතුන්ගේ නාදය විඳිමින් ඔබට මේ සුන්දර ස්ථානය දැකබලා ගන්න පුළුවන්.
