- In this video I'll be reviewing Garage therapy /ONE: Tyre Serum and /ONE: Wheel Shampoo (with a guest appearance from /ZERO: Decontamination Shampoo as well!).
I purchase the Tyre Serum and Decon Shampoo myself, however the Wheel Shampoo was kindly sent for free by Garage Therapy. As always, this is my honest opinion and experience having used the three products.

Hi Heather,
Thank you for taking the time to review /ONE: Tyre Serum and braving the cold conditions.
//GT
Thanks Maz 😊
My first Garage Therapy products are turning up today...can't wait to try them. Nice vid as always.
I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
Great Vlog Heather, i use GT decon and GT wheels but i use Carpro Perl for tyre dressing. It's interesting to know that the GT is a tyre conditioner. Thanks advice noted 😊 🙏👍
nice one heather even on very cold day. love this GT range.
Thanks! Haha gloves and two hoodies were necessary 😂
Great to see a real world test from a trusted reviewer - Rather you than me though, given the recent weather.
Thanks very much! Haha it was absolutely freezing when I was filming this 😂
Hi Heather
Really interesting video 👍🏻
The decon of the tyres looked very thorough - and after application the tyres looked stunning.
Iv not read the other comments as such so apologise if any of this is repeated.
I love the GT range however iv not used tyre serum - it reads that it works differently and revitalises the tyre rather than the usual “tyre shine” that fails after about a week.
In terms of maintaining the tyres I recently purchased one of the Vikan wheel brushes from Amazon for about £8- although nowhere near as aggressive as the tough shine type brush it might give a better general clean without the harshness of the TS type brush. I’d expect nothing to be left after the TS brush - as great as GT products are they aren’t indestructible.
Be really interesting to see in 6 or so weeks if you continue to use it how they act..
Keep up the great videos
Hi David, thanks very much for the comment. Yeah I definitely think there are added benefits here using the product, I’m interested to try it on a neglected tyre and keep it well maintained and just use a softer brush or mitt on it with the wheel shampoo possibly when the weather is a bit better. The vikan ones look perfect for it, I’ll see about picking one up soon 😊
Did this same method this morning on both the house hold cars that I gave a thorough going over. Took 4.5 hours and froze my nuts off! What I’ve found with Tyre Serum over the last 6 weeks is that a quick clean with Wheel Shampoo (not a hard scrub) leaves the tyres nice and black still but without any sort of shine. You can see the previous application is still doing something and the rubber looks in great condition, then a quick fresh coat leaves that perfect look again. It’s not a good idea to scrub tyres with strong APC’s week in, week out as it strips the factory protection that’s in the tyre from new. With a maintenance wash, you’re only cleaning off the suface dirt on the surface of the tyre, not stripping the base protection. A bit like you don’t decon completely everything off your paint every week. You get it clean and top up the protection with a QD or similar.
This. 👆
Yeah that makes a lot of sense. I've been keeping the tyres topped up with the serum weekly since I tried it for the first time. When the tyres aren't too dirty I always just use the wheel shampoo, (just used a normal shampoo before I got this one) to give them a refresh. With the weather recently though the rear tyres have been filthy due to all the flooding so I've needed to get them back up to scratch again. With the front ones I've been getting away with just using the wheel shampoo.
Really liked the review you've done here Heather, love the finish the tyre serum gives once its worked in. I currently use infinity wax tyre coat and this seems to leave a better finish but also appreciate its more of a conditioner... think I will try some once my suppy has been used up and see what occurs. Thank you for being so in depth and really enjoyed this.
Thanks very much Phil! I’m still yet to try any infinity wax products but they’re on the list of brands I want to try at some point 😊
Hey Heather
Another great in depth video for a Sunday evening 🤗
Luckily I’ve already spent my detailing cash for the week earlier on the Car Chem offer !
I’m worried that Bilt Hamber will be getting jealous after this video 😲😲
Thanks very much for watching! Haha I got two of the small car chem boxes, think I’ll do an unboxing for my next video 😊
Nice.
I’ve taken a chance with the large bottles.
Oh and some panel wipe.
Excited to,see what arrives 🤗
Like Christmas all over 🎄
Look forward to your unboxing video !
@@mantaman7314 I couldn't resist that offer either for a bit of fun.. Don't even know any of their products really.. 😁
Interesting video Heather... I haven't got around to using myself in this weather but hopefully very soon (especially as I got 4 new tyres 3 weeks ago so I've a perfect platform for them!).
I won't lie, I wasn't quite sure what you thought the tyre brush was going to do in terms of 'regenerating' the water repellency as the tyre brush is possibly the most aggressive detailing product that doesn't have a plug on it lol... I'd have washed the tyres with a soft brush or even a mitt.
Very confused why the rear tyres went off so quickly, but I wouldn't put it down to being RWD - by that logic, there would be no point applying this to any FWD car as the front wheels would be under a lot more load (driving, steering, 70% of the braking and all whilst carrying the bulk of the car's weight)... I think there may be another reason 🤷🏻♂️
Anyway, midnight ramble over... Be good to follow this long term with multiple applications 👍🏼👍🏼
I’ll give the mitt a try when the tyres aren’t so dirty next time. When they look like this I couldn’t help but attempt to get them to a decent level of clean 😂 I was just interested to see what would happen when they were scrubbed and was please to see that the wheel shampoo didn’t completely remove the product even when scrubbed down. I used pretty light pressure and am pretty weak anyway so that probably helped 😂 I guess the rear wheels will get a decent battering despite being rwd but always notice that in summer the rear wheels always get a lot dirtier faster and the front wheels on everyone else’s car’s so I think it contributes a bit. I’ll keep an eye on how it looks after weekly applications for a couple of months at least and probs update on Instagram. Praying that I don’t have to drive in flooding everyday for the next couple of weeks to give it more of a chance!
@@AutoCareHQ yeah the flooding won't have helped one bit... Even the best products have limits 🤣👍🏼
I know what I did before Garage Therapy, I spent a lot of money testing things now I mainly use GT.
Another good video. You seem to use 95% of the same products and cleaning routine as I do. It's good to watch a UK videos with products I can buy. 👍......and I also drive a red MX5 (2010). 🤣
Thanks! Haha what a coincidence! Great choice of products and car 😊
Hi Heather,I like to clean the wheels behind and the face of them, never tried these products but they do work well.
Both work great, the wheel shampoo is the only thing I use now!
nice video Heather, only used decon shampoo, glass and interior cleaners so far from GT. Would highly recommend Infinity Wax's Tyre Gel (yummy strawberry flavour), or Gyeon's Tire Gel, both quite thick, but good finish and they both last a while, only needs topped up every couple of months or so, for a quick maint wash, just clean the alloys and skip the tyres -- i use some TW Dry & Shine, Gyeon Wetcoat or Bouncer's Bead-juice to protect them, makes it easier to clean next time. Time to test more GT products for sure.
Thanks for watching 😊 I’ll keep an eye out for those products, cheers! I’ve got a quick update on this tyre serum coming out this Sunday actually, the performance really improves the more you use it, it’s impressive stuff
Great review, hoping that the product will get better with every application, so after a couple of months the water repellency will last longer ? Keep up the good work
Thanks very much! I’m planning on applying it weekly for the next couple of months so I’ll see how it gets on. I think the idea is that the more the product is applied and maintained, the greater the benefits will be, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes 😊

I've just bought some + can't wait to use it ! I really rate GT and their other products 👍
Nice! Hope you enjoy it :)
It should do Richard especially as the temperature warms up and the rubber becomes more absorbent.
Simple production change to swap to a flip top design... I've a few spares I think so I'll be swapping mine.
Ran out of time today so didn't get to use the serum
Been using the Wheel Shampoo for a few washes now and a great product, works well in a foamer to spread it onto the wheel/tyre and also have a bucket to scrub the wheel and tyre clean.
Today used the Tyre Serum and also found it a good product, went on well and gives a natural/satin finish. Will keep an eye on the tyres to see how well it performs.
The only issue i found is that i broke the cap of the wheel shampoo. As i was screwing it back on, i slightly over did it and it poped and broke the top of the cap.
Totally my fault and was easily fixed with some super glue however, would be good if the caps were either made from stronger plastic or some kind of stop that doesnt allow you to over tighten.
I honestly couldn’t be without the wheel shampoo now, the foamer definitely upgrades the whole wheel cleaning process as well. I’ve applied the tyre serum again today and the finish really is spot on
Interesting video Heather 👍 The Garage Therapy shampoos are excellent but i was wondering about the Tyre Serum. I, like many others i assume, like to clean my wheels and apply tyre dressing after every wash. I wonder if this product doesn't lend itself to that approach. Maybe there would be too much of a build up for it to be successful. If it is a conditioner, as stated, it seems a shame to have to remove it at every wash. FYI diamond cut alloys on the Mazda would look excellent i think 👌
Hi, quite the opposite, the more you use Tyre Serum the better as it will keep the tyre hydrated.
The reason for building the /ONE: Tyre Serum up is for two reasons. Firstly to ensure that maximum absorption of the product into the tyre wall and secondly to attain the look and finish you want. From a chemistry standpoint its successful for the moment you apply it and its absorbed into the tyre. After every wash, if your removing the top layer of protectant it leaves behind it doesn't matter as the polymers that have already been absorbed into the tyre are doing their job. The more you use it the better :)
@@GarageTherapyOfficial That is very interesting. It was also in my thinking as you state that it conditions and not just dresses. That would appeal to me then in that case as i prefer that "new" tyre look instead of one that looks like it has been varnished. It was not meant as a slight on the product, as you seem to hit the mark with everything you do, but just to clarify if it would suit my approach. Horses for courses really 👍
Hi Heather, great video as usual, decided to purchase some GT wheel shampoo and was really impressed with the results, will continue to use this product now , many thanks .
If you ever find yourself using the bleed fallout type wheel cleaner.
Be careful of the silver paint calipers.
I’m also currently trying it out, definitely lasts longer than a dressing with the water repellent effects but I’m not sure I’m ready to move away from a good scrubbing and redress every couple of weeks on a daily car that gets filthy regularly just yet.
Oh and nice application pattern :-)
I don't think we've ever said not to do the method you are already doing. Ultimately tyres get dirty depending on weather, roads types etc...If the tyre needs to be stripped every two weeks then it needs to regardless of the product. The more you use Tyre Serum the healthier over time the tyre will be so we encourage people to keep up with the maintenance of the tyre.
I'd also like to add that aggressively cleaning a tyre is also not good. It can leach out the Ozone and cause it to dry out. Cheaper APCs that are loaded with cheap Hydroxides can accelerate this process as well as Hydrocarbons, Mineral Spirits etc...
@@GarageTherapyOfficial I think you are misunderstanding me, I didn’t say you have ever told me to do anything different. I have been a big fan of your products so was excited to try this and bought some as soon as I could. I’m using it on one half of my car exactly as your instructions on the website and bottle, with my usual routine on the other side so I can see for myself any long term benefits. Personally I’ve never had issues with tyres drying out or perishing so perhaps I won’t see these advantages but still going to continue trying this new approach to tyre care to form my own opinion on what I will use in the future. Never said it was bad in anyway still early days✌🏼
@@gillywash1487 I think you have misunderstood us also. We was implying that the instructions and the messaging we have given on this product doesn't state to change the way you currently care for your tyres but of course we have recommendations on how to care for them. Whether you are using a dressing or a conditioner the care process is similar if not the same.
For the record, we also didn't say that you said the product was bad or good or insinuated that you did. :)
Good video 👍🏼. Nice wheels .
Thanks for watching!
Tbh I love clean undamaged alloys but severely neglect the tyres never really even thought about the tyres but........
hi brilliant video 10ml in 500ml of water will that do all four wheels? I'm ordering a IK foam pro 2
Thanks Michael :) yep 500ml should be fine, I normally use about 100ml/ wheel on my car
Thanks for the video but I couldn't help but think that the wheels looked clean before you started .
Thanks for watching 😊
Is this safe on ceramic coated wheels?
Yep I use it on my ceramic coated wheels
Nice vid, thanks!
Thank you!
Great job
Thanks!
I'm going to have to play with my marolex foamer.... I used about 40 ml in 2 litres and it came out much more watery than yours.... useable but not thick.... but in the wheel bucket it's the dogs 🐕
Ahh that’s interesting, I thought the marolex ones were better than the IK foamers tbh. Only issue I’ve ever had with it being watery is if I’ve knocked the bottle and it’s foamed up a bit inside already
@@AutoCareHQ the surfex was the same until I swapped the foamer head so maybe another tweak and play needed. Tbh I wasn't sure of the precise dilution needed but it got a decent dollop.... might get the shampoo warmed up before the next try and use what's left in the bucket and start again
