Both are psychiatrists, both try to "fix" their respective protagonists "problems" (but for different reasons), both are counterparts to "dreamlike" antagonists (Dollmaker for Bumby, and Nome King for Worley), and both die in the real world, just like their fantasy counterparts.
American McGee tried to do an Alice-style Oz video game called OZombie a few years back, but it never took off. I would've liked to see how he would have handled those characters (especially seeing as both Alice's and Dorothy's fantasy worlds were "just a dream," so I wonder if he would've gone the mental health route again).

I'm not saying I suspected that he'll be the main antagonist (only from Alice memory of fire on chapter 4) but I wondered that how can a doctor use forgetfulness as a cure. Humans aren't forget, you can bury your memories deep but it's only a matter of time before it's show up again because of some events.

Well I also noticed that the entire American Mcgee's Alice series is basically a 'longer' version of "Return to Oz" where they separated the two plotline arcs (Like the Asylum and the Mad Doctor) into two separate games while in Return to Oz it was all in one movie. Overall I think Return to Oz predated AMA which was what probably inspired Mcgee to make the series although with a much darker twist (although I also heard that Return to Oz was actually based on a book so it might be different).
Bumby reminds me of the kind of organized offenders from Criminal Minds. Like Alice, I also saw him for what he was from the beginning, but didn't pay it any mind. It was the portrait in the orphanage. Him sitting in a chair while surrounded by miserable looking children. I thought, "He must be a perv." I had no idea just how right I was.
Because he is a sociopath/psychopath. Bumby was designed to be hated with no redeeming qualities whatsoever and him just being self-hated/depressed/etc would have made him slightly sympathetic which is what they avoided with a reason. Besides Bumby is based on Mcgee's childhood as well.

Also if you look at the Asylums (as this game clearly shown) there was no such thing as "rehabilitation" back then. So Alice killing Bumby is still justified as well and there was no other way of dealing with him because there is no reasoning with child molesters/murderers/rapists as also clearly shown in the Moorgate Station confrontations where he's constantly blaming his victims for his owns problems (Tu Quoque fallacy) and made worse was his status in society.

From my experience, the train hitting Bumby was the nicest thing Alice did for him. I guess if we have to go a more extreme angle, I would have liked to see Alice stab the Doctor countless times, over and over and over. Every stab being the pain that he has inflicted on the children, her family and herself.
And I found his fate very soft compared to Alice's. Publicly execute him would be better (thought in a game like this it's hardly happens) or Alice somehow invade his mind and destroy his own "Wonderland" driving him insane.

I highly recommend you read this world's story version present in a "Kingdom Hearts" fanfic called "The Twilight Will", in which the protagonist is Roxas, if he refused to abide by his own abuser (DiZ). I can promise you Bumby's ending there is even far more satisfying, and Alice's heart and mind, besides getting its revenge/justice, fully mends.

The storyline could of just been easily be about Alice full stop. Instead the focus is on the children of the Orphanage and Alice's sister Lizzie, which just takes away the whole point of the main character of Alice. The creators tried way too hard to spread a message about Bumby which was obvious from the start. The Dollhouse level just doesn't fit with the whole theme of the wacky world of AMR, it was never even canon in the first to the books of Alice in Wonderland.

From my experience, the train hitting Bumby was the nicest thing Alice did for him. I guess if we have to go a more extreme angle, I would have liked to see Alice stab the Doctor countless times, over and over and over. Every stab being the pain that he has inflicted on the children, her family and herself.

I think a better solution would be that Alice manifests the Vorpal Blade and stabs him and then pushes him off the incoming train.
And I found his fate very soft compared to Alice's. Publicly execute him would be better (thought in a game like this it's hardly happens) or Alice somehow invade his mind and destroy his own "Wonderland" driving him insane.

Well it's kinda ironic that you call Bumby a underdeveloped character yet you still hate him. Well I have a feeling that Bumby was designed to be hated because he was the sole reason why Alice's life was ruined in the first place and they had to make him a irredeemable complete monster just to prevent any sympathizing with him. Although I like I said before they could have delved deeper into his background and how he became to be but I don't think the Alice series is not like that.

I highly recommend you read this world's story version present in a "Kingdom Hearts" fanfic called "The Twilight Will", in which the protagonist is Roxas, if he refused to abide by his own abuser (DiZ).
I can promise you Bumby's ending there is even far more satisfying, and Alice's heart and mind, besides getting its revenge/justice, fully mends.

Well because he is a "a bad guy that everyone should hate" because he is the sole reason how Alice's life was ruined in the first place. Let's not forget that this series is about Alice herself (as the title says) not everyone else which hints (even Mcgee hinted this in his own forum) that Alice might be living in a solipsist world where she's the only real person while everyone else is a projection which is now eveyone's backstories don't count.

Bumby was pretty much a character created to vilify men for the sake of misandry, that even the creator himself McGee admits that he created Bumby out of hatred of his father and the so called "patriachy". This game loves to demonise an entire gender based on exaggerated assumptions that all men are like Bumby (Which is complete bs as it's just another emotional manipulation tactic used by tradcons and libs who are anti-male) This is why you have f minists loving this game because it goes along well with their delusional point of view and hatred of the male race. It's even embarrassing that a scrawny girl like Alice is able to push a man taller than her where he could of easily just pushed her on the tracks with no problem if he reacted quickly. But no the creator wanted to make the villain a typical dumb idiot because he's a "bad" person get it?
The storyline could of just been easily be about Alice full stop. Instead the focus is on the children of the Orphanage and Alice's sister Lizzie, which just takes away the whole point of the main character of Alice. The creators tried way too hard to spread a message about Bumby which was obvious from the start. The Dollhouse level just doesn't fit with the whole theme of the wacky world of AMR, it was never even canon in the first to the books of Alice in Wonderland.

@@elongatedmanforever1252 the game isn't anti male, it takes place in a time where the world was very anti female so it's just accurate. games very rarely take on a topic such as sexual assault, and I'd say this is a very respectful and relatable game when it comes to that. you clearly don't relate or understand, calling it anti male just shows it. also most games are made for males, if you don't want to be open minded and see how Alice sees the world as a traumatized woman, play other games that are made for you.
I LOVE YOU FOR THIS! I hate Bumby with a murderous burning passion, but I gotta say he is a DAMN good villain. Heartless, disgusting, and some other putrid characteristic that makes me want to curb stomp him. Definitely on my top list of video game antagonists.
