This game is so underrated, it's a crime against the developers. I have to force myself going further into the video because it hurts to see the amount of unnoticed efforts from the devs to make these details that are BETTER than many games that people praises for its attention to detail. With amazing story and amazing combat to be the big 2 bones that held the entire game on top of such details. Shame we never got Sleeping Dogs 2 or the movie, it's probably because of the game's underrated status.

Theres a series of missions where you get batmobile style supercar. If you leave it on sidewalk, pedestrians will say stuff like "are they filming the movie here?" and start gathering around and taking pictures.
My personal favorite thing was wearing a cop outfit at the point of the story when Wei is accused of being a rat. Absolutely hilarious when he turns opinions towards the other guy while wearing a badge and cowboy hat or the riot gear from the Year of the Snake DLC.

This was one of the only games I used to replay so much and complete 100% each time, the soundtrack, atmosphere, and homage to movies I grew up with made me love it so much. I wish they didn’t scrape Sleeping Dogs 2, it would’ve been such an awesome experience… makes me sad tbh

it was a pretty damn good game. Good details, skills to learn, very different missions and also great story. Could be a movie easily. Played this 2 times but its not getting old. Soundtracks were absoulutely fantastic.

Something I noticed while playing, if you’re in a chase with the police and stop your car for whatever reason without getting out. The cop in the passenger seat will get out and the driver won’t.
amazing how people dont know about this game. Honestly it beats gta 5 in every parameter. There is contracts on demand to gain easy money, so the money flow never stops(which is a mistake that games like gta5 do a lot), the story is intriguing and interesting, the character is lovable and loyal, and there is a wild array of veichles AND things you can do, so that you never lose interst in the game
Same here, first playthrough I ran through the story but after picking it up again, all the side missions and world-building/atmosphere is spectacular!
I recently replayed this game and even i didn’t appreciate it as much as it deserved when it first came out. What an awesome game i feel like Sleeping Dogs was built on the same formula as the first True Crime game. And i LOVED that game
This game was the shit man, it was such a good open world sandbox before GTA V at the time. Gameplay elements still hold up after all these years than most triple A games imo. Definitely deserved a sequel, yet is still a golden goose.

I've recently beat Sleeping Dogs for the third time. I've used Extreme graphics preset at it's mind blowing both graphically and GPU-wise - the graphics were ahead of its time but so was the GPU utilization. You need like 980TI to have 60 FPS on Extreme preset.
there's on fun thing that I always do on sleeping dogs. One time, I will kidnap one person and put it in my taxi trunk. Using one of Wei's skills, I drive on full speed, jump out of the car, and use the slowmo skill to fire at the gas tank and make it explode. Its fun since I can see roasted person on my destroyed taxi trunk.
You know i only subscribe because of the voice of first Hitman game in the background "I need to use the bathroom" nostalgia struck me so hard and my memory recalls "why certainly sir let me just grab the key"
