I don't know if anyone noticed what the security guards were talking about on the "Enemy Of The State" mission, but one security guard was talking about a cartoon character & had an idea for the character to drive a car, shoot with a gun, and walk everywhere. That security guard was making a reference to the Mafia 2 game or any other open world games similar to Mafia.

In 0:38 instead of shooting the guy, you can also an instant punch so you can save bullets. The instant punch works when the enemies are holding their guns and when you get close enough to the enemy and you put your guns away or your hands empty, an icon appears on the bottom left of the screen to push a button and Vito, Joe and Jimmy performs a instant punch. Their punch animation look like exactly as combo punches in hand in hand combat, but you push the button once instead of 3 times.
Most people in a boss fight: *fight tooth and nail with everything they got* Vito in a boss fight: *Takes the car providing him cover and drives it off the fucking pier*
2:36. this side mission & the other one where you help the lady fixing their cars engine, it was made for you to gain respect in the beta, but it was cut / removed in the final game

For the quest to kill Derek in chapter 14, you can actually skip the encounter altogether if you have enough money to pay Bruno. The easiest way I did was to farm selling the Lassiter limousine in one of the previous chapters (late chapter 12 till the end of chapter 13). The prompt to go see Derek will stay on your map into chapter 15 as well, but the door will not open at all.
What nobody mentions is in chapter 3 Enemy of the State, the score while you stealth around in the OPA building is completely unique and isn’t in the games official score at all. If anyone can manage to find it, link it though!
Very well made video. As a person who has enjoyed the game for over a decade now I assumed that I would know most of the things listed here yet I only knew about the dirty clothes. I beat Mafia II arrrrounnnd 2017 I wanna say but it never really stuck with me and I've tried to replay it a few times since then but I think discovering and heavily getting into Mafia (2002) in late 2017 and thus having similar expectations in innovation for Mafia II sort of killed this game for me.
Instead of destroying Henry's car i just quickly run to my garage and grab fast car. Henry just gets in your car, no problem. Also it's useful when driving to leo because your car won't despawn after cutscene
Here are a few bugs and details I noticed while playing: (I might be mistaken on some parts because it's been about 2 years since I last played it) There are three approaches when entering the building in chapter 3 you can enter through that toilet window. You can pick the lock or you can climb the building and enter through some office window which makes things harder or easier depending on the approach. After stealing the stamps with stealh approach for some reason basement doors will be open right outside of the building. If you jump inside you will be back in the basement where you disable the alarm. And in the same mission there always will be a beggar in the alley if you stand next to him he will demand money and say "Family kidnapped by ninjas need money for karate lessons" which is an early internet meme. If you kill an npc right next to cars blood might splatter on the floors of the car which can actually taint your feet. You will see bloody footprints after driving the bloody car and leaving it. In stairway to heaven chapter. There is an interactable empty cabinet for some reason. You can open and close it. Maybe the money was supposed to be in there but this would make the money missable and make the mission a lot more unpleasant to play since mission has a free way approach rather than linear. In the same mission After taking joe to the Greco you can get back to the derek's office which will be empty you can access to hangar as well. the place will kinda be creepy. In the same mission for some reason If you take a different route when you are going to bruski you will always fall through the map with you car but to be honest I don't remember which route was the buggy route. You can actually one shot the last boss with mellee. In Jimmy's first DLC there was a bug where every shop owner called police on me upon seeing me. I didn't commit any crime or shoot any gun or anything. There was a police army chasing me because probably each shop owner spawned at least 2 police cars. I don't remember how I triggered it hell it might even be very rare or very hard to replicate.
Just when i thought i knew everything about this game, i really didn't know about the hot rods in the 15th mission and the method to open Derek's office door. Edit: Another curious fact is that you can visit Derek in the 15th mission after killing him and he will be alive. Just an oversight but it's funny.

I have probably completed this game about 50 times and only today I know that you could skip the car chase by going through a fucking alleyway. Keep up the good work!! P.S I absolutely love this game, played it for the first time when I was literally 10 back in 2013 and throughout the years I revisited this game time and time again cuz it's a masterpiece. Seeing a fellow gamer sharing his love for this game makes me so happy.

Wow These details are insane! I played it in September 2010 for PS3 and now i just got the platinum on PS5 after barely 15hours of play and i love it, But i expected at least one fact in the video about the Playboy magazines lol
Really like this game, it has a lot of small details and the car physics that make it enjoyable to play. If only the story was stretched more and the world has more engagements like in the DLCs it would've been one of the best games of 2010s. 2k rushed the game/story so much. Wished they made more missions for Clemente and Luca, side missions for Bruski or Guiseppe. And especially more interactions with Derek and Steve to build a bond and make the reveal at the end more shocking. When Vito was made, doing side missions for the Vinci family or little interactions in the Mona Lisa Bar can add more to the story. They could've also added more details about Vito's blood family, told the history of his father, and have more interactions with Franky and Eric.
Vito's life in the family was shown as a montage cutscene while "let the good times roll" played. They could have made full length missions to show this instead but with this cutscene they skip over it and continue past it instead
blame EA they bought the rights to the renderware engine they were going to use and so once they couldn't use it anymore they needed to start from scratch about 2 years? away from release
You also forgot on the 11th mission "A Friend Of Ours", you can use the sheets to save Leo so smartly and that's an easy way than rather being caught by Henry. If you didn't know. I hope this information is helpful for you.

It's not facts. It's non-linear gameplay kinda, and little things game desing. But, at "Balls and Beans" mission you cant actually take a shower to clean up. At least your head will stink very much.

You could also make a break for the staircase inside the warehouse to get inside Derek’s office, but it’s a 50/50 gamble.
Thats what I do. Thats gotta be the hardest single gun fight in the game just to survive.
