2024 report: still no Necrophagist in sight.
Where is he? He is alive?
@pabloandresricoecheverry7514 they say hes an engineer at BMW, but who know....
@@ussrchunky9507who says that ?
@@hypno6164 watch "The Hunt For Mohammed Suicmez" by sixstringtv

Necrophagist is the best metal band I’ve ever heard
You havent heard beneath the massacre or nile then

Shots fired at Relapse get rekt
This guy is so humble. Most people would agree that Necrophagist is a technically and musically superior band than Slayer, but he would still rather open than head a tour with them. Shows how much he respects metal's roots.
Being tecnichal dont make you good by default. The success of music is in hooks, melody a groove.
I think opening and headlining is more about size of fanbase, not music quality.
@@josemiguelcastiblancogomez7723 would that make Taylor Swift the greatest musician of all time?
@@arbabasukalsar4361 nope but look how successful were Prince or James Brown and they were brilliant songwriters and entretainers 😉
Lol, this is one of the silliest comments I read on TH-cam. Slayer is massive because of their excellent songwriting, technicality doesn't make a band automatically superior.
Muhammed sounds like a really down to earth guy, awesome interview.
According to some sources, he's kind of not so easy to deal with personally. He wants to write everything himself and he is very critical.
Again, that is according to several interviews and other sources about him. So not first hand experience.
But in the end, there must be a reason why they just stopped existing.
@@martinparidon9056 I also think his ego contributed to ultimate demise of the band. Onset of putrefaction was from the beginning Suicmez solo album, only with Epitaph he started opening up a bit. But just for Muenzner. Drummer didn't get any creative input and was supposed to play pre-programmed drums like on OoP. Today he could just release entire album online, perhaps just invite musicians to record real drums, without the need to have a band to support it with live shows.
@@martinparidon9056
14 years later. Ofc we know more now than when this guy originally commented.
He tabs the music and gives it to the band members. Thats an interesting process for a band - more like a classical composer writing for an orchestra than some guys jamming. Fucking works!
Why wont they come back
i think this is pretty common. i mean, it’s what my high school prog metal band did 😂. complicated songs take too long to teach to each other band member in person, esp if you have a job, school, family, etc taking up most of your week
@@meshzzizkcommon 15 years ago? 🤔
@@JulianEmdon i mean, i am 37 so we were doing this 20+ years ago. how is that relevant? there was easily accessible guitar tab and music notation software available then and honestly you can just type up tabs in notepad with dashes, it’s not that hard.
@@JulianEmdon i, the other guitarist, and the drummer all wrote songs by ourselves, which we’d then transcribe into software like finale to convert it to midi, then print copies of the notation/tabs and burn cds of the midi track for the other band members to take home and learn for the next band practice
-"why are you guys so awesome??" WORST QUESTION EVER!!!
Yeah I could NEVER stand this guy. I'm so glad they finally decided to get rid of him. Frank Godla is a way better interviewer and overall personality.
So badass he called out their label
"I want to stop my career after death".
But he alive and well. Where is the new album?..
Vonerval Official ı think he is talking about the band death
"....after that"*
@Godmachine 999 now both bands are gone :(
No-one appreciated their music?
As a guitar player, how could you NOT.
Exactly.
The half life 3 of metal. What an awesome guy!
i love this guy.
he makes me realize how far i have to go in my playing
But you’re making moves now right Mario? Lmaooooooo
brooooo mannn I LOVE CHON TOO
Insane. Can't believe this is 14 years ago and now look where he is.
@@PyroShredder982 Perhaps now he's a surgeon or someone who maintains the Linux subsystem or anything that sounds promising to your parents. Living a peaceful life with 3 kids. Who now enjoys playing mellow rock tunes from Journey or Toto or Styx.
What made his music finally break through was his implementation of groove without losing the integrity of his technicality and ingenuity. Great artist
His last name means: "He drinks no water". Hell yeah, turkish is really funny sometimes.
I'm so fuckin' proud of him, because I'm from Germany too and I'm turkish!
BIG W BRO!
Move to Turkey unless you are White like Muhammad
Tech Death Eminem lol
Lmao
Lmfao⚰️
Guess who's back?
Muhammed has more talent in his pinky finger....
For those who are still curious as to why a new record has yet to come, the answer is at 4:00.
So it's a grudge, then. Stubborn gits aren't they? xD
And, from what I've read on Relapse's Wikipedia page, Necrophagist is still associated with them.
+Samuel Evans Holy shit, if I had known this would happen 9 years ago when I first discovered Necrophagist, I would've paid more attention to that snippet.
necrophagist is the best technical metal band ever!!! 10/10
the energy from this guy is electric
wow he talks fast, he's like a overexcited kid sitting on santa's lap: "And then I want a toy train and some chocolate and a basketball and then a..."lol
Anyway, Muhammed seemed cool
lets wait for another 13 years then we can stop believing
still waiting 😂
@@Martell276and still waiting 😂
I still believe ):
its over dude, roman said the band is dead now
:/
I had no idea Muhammad wrote all the parts. He's a musical genius.
Still one of the greatest metal bands of all time.
its 2021 and i am waiting for their new album that will never be released lol
Same
@@pr0llyn0t 2 months later: still waiting
This is the half life 3 of metal except this was announced and its said its almost ready

2024 ... Now I stop waiting. Just listen the 2 album and sleep peacefully. No more expectations.
LOL
"I listened to Leprosy and I was like "Holy shit I've gotta play this shit!"
Years later, still waiting for the new album.
I would love to see Brüno (Shasha Baron Cohen) interview them
I seriously hope this band is still alive. Onset of Putrefaction is one of my all time favorite albums.
There's some murmuring about a third album I think.
He's so cool ha I write all the music and these guys are so good they just take the tabs and play it. Dam I love this band. They need to make some more music!! Come own!! Come to Chicago!
epitaph ist so ein perfektes technical death metal album. jeder song hat charakter und ist total eingäng, wenn man sich den style angewöhnt hat. Muhammed FTW !!!
Fuck the label for every doubting them. If only they can just come back, the world needs this band..
i saw them in 2007 in a little club that could barely fit all those people, crazy majestic tech death show, still have fond memories of that one.... I even have the poster of that tour.... and yes I am selling, but only for 100.000 euro ! :D
I love how at :05 it plays like 3 seconds of praise the lord by dying fetus
yeah it came out in 04. i ordered it from Barnes & Nobles as a custom cd order, and the guy read it out to me when i told him the title. it suprised me as well. but Onset of Putrefaction is hands down their best so far.
Turkiyenin gururu
Relapse Recors has been still fricking over Necrophagist. I guess that's why we don't have another album.
Fuck yea. Still listening 13 yrs later
Yep it's a pack of cigarettes. He's holding a pack of Newports.
im watching this now for the first time so sad to see him intoxicating himself, i thought he was sober since the music he writes is top level and ambitious. thats the first thing i noticed
Of course it has to be ghetto cigarettes..
I've been pounding the 1st album lately. Best drum programming EVER! I usually HATE programmed drum tracks. Muhamed thinks & composes drums like a real drumming genius!
4:33
hahahaha "holy shit, i gotta play this shit"
😂😂
i love how he says its pronounced with a hard g and then refers to the band as soft-g necrophagist shortly after
wow he seems really cool and honest that's great. i didnt expect him to mention slayer though. i do love slayer but they are completely different in sound.
Lmao I just realized he was smoking during this interview
I agree but its interesting to think how long classical music (and jazz) has been around and how short a time DM has had. Classical basically is the start of western music so its had hundreds of years to grow, but DMs only been around since the late 80s, so its come a really fucking long way.
I wonder if these two guys did it after this interview... "Simple question: Why are you guys so awesome?" that's some insightful journalism, there...
HOLY SHIT Leprosy was the first death metal album I listened to as well!
Same :P
Death inspired so many bands. So awesome.
So cool. Love this band.
he is the living legend!!!!
i didn't know it was supposed to be pronounced that way. what a chill guy though
Must. Release. New. Album.
LOve how the interviewer gets the pronunciation wrong at the very end.
who are still waiting for the new album in 2020!!
I still wear my shirt that I bought in 2008 and enjoy the music frequently
Well one thing is for certain and that is somewhere at a secret time, place, & venue Necrophagist must've opened for Slayer because his career has definitely STOPPED!...(prove me wrong Muhammed)

haha. When he says 'Legally' and 'Big Time'
Still watching this
hey newport smoker, my man!! power to death metal smoking singers and guitarists!
@AdamBlack88 Yeah, but it depends what you focuse on during practice and how dedicated you are. If someones been playing for 10+ years and is a blues virtuoso, it doeant mean he can play Necro songs. If you focus on sweeping and harmonic minor scale practice as well as just playing technical riffs in general, it is quite possible to paly their stuff. Theres a guy on youtube whos been playing for less than 3 years but covered the whole Epitaph album in entirety. I myself can play Stabwound
I watched this when it came out
"we hope for a release date in summer 2007" hahaha
Death fans skip to 4:28
thanks. man! i didnt notice :))
Listen to Blotted Science and tell me I don't know technicality. Anyway, Every solo on the album epitaph(the only album I cared to get) contains triplets.
dude where are you????we r ready
man if they played a show with sayer well there is no words to express how awsome that would be
That's the way I've always pronounced it and heard it pronounced. I think his point in the beginning was that the greeks would pronounce it that way, so it doesn't matter anyway, but the band and most of the fans pronounce it the way he did at 1:38
dont worry man it will have to come out!
O pergunta é: como ele tornou tudo isso real em um mero disco?
"I write songs, then we record it" Kinda the reason Christian quit.
Muhammed is heavily influenced by Chuck from Death so the concept of "his band/project with revolving cast of musicians to help achieve it" was probably appealing to him because it worked so well with Chuck. It has its pros and cons as you can see similar "control freak" and "difficult to work with" comments from ex band members regarding both Muhammed and Chuck.
Maybe you should take another listen at Necrophagist because you pretty much just described them. And yes, they use quintuplets... I mean really, all of Necrphagist's songs have a new, different recurring theme that the previous song doesn't have. They are all written in different tempos and just have a completely different sound... I WOULD agree that the solos do lack a bit of variety, but if you take a hard listen to Necrophagist, I think you'll understand what I mean.
Yes, i agree. I pronounce it that way too. But i think it's kinda funny when you consider the beginning.
Funny story, back in 2001 when Slipknuts was getting popular (Wait and Bleed) Slayer had to open up for Slipknot.. I went to see Slayer and left after.. It was pretty lame.. but it was a big festival type show.
Slayer outside in daylight was funny though
no i totally agree with you sturmgeist1819. Mikael Akerfeldt is a brilliant musician and great frontman for Opeth. Opeth is one of my favorite bands (partly because they are swedish)lol
Truer words have never been spoken.
yeah. i had to listen to it like 50897340857 times before i could begin to understand what was going on, but now i love it. imho, you (usually) have to be a musician to truly appreciate what's going on.
I heard he played with Marco Minneman and before I see Marco with only guitar legends.
come back plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2007 huh? What do you have to say now, 5 years later???
Tnx for this video man.
Hehh.. Listen to his cool laughter at 02:17-02:18...xD
i wish i see necrophagist and slayer... its like a fucking dream man!
Please MS come back to us
COME TO NEPAL!!!!!!
Suranzan Pradhan Dude I was also thinking about that but..................
Nepal does not deserve Necrophagist
Ashutosh Goit America doesn't either, what's your point?
when Muhammed said he wouldn't mind quiting after opening for slayer maybe he wasn't joking lol
He god damn right. When they played in Poland with Bolt Thrower only a few maniacs watch them. It's sad so in U.S.A Necrophagist is more popular than Europe.
This band RULES
SHOUTOUT TO RELAPSE RECORDS FOR ENDING NECROPHAGIST!!
@Henry14arsenal2007 Psyopus and Blotted Science are WAY more technical, but in a different way. It doesn't mean they're better but their music is a lot more complex and unusual, which I think means it's more technical. I prefer Necro though I like the way they sound more than the aforementioned.
I feel a personal connection with Necrophagist being i lived in Turkey during the time Epitaph was being recorded. I lived there from 2002 to 2004.
agreed to both comments.
you hear that boys, fuck'n SLAYER!
Awesome awesome band :O
4:03 he kind of sounds like Borat how he answers this question lol
why does everyone almost always say they would like to open for slayer? im not a fan of these guys music but man this guy shreds on the guitar he's fucking amazing.
i dont think so, epitaph was released 2004 and suicmez talked about a 2007 album that hasnt come out yet
Actually, in modern greek necrofagist (νεκροφάγος) means the person who eats corpses.
@oregonskateok Yeah yeah I know he's Turkish but he's a German citizen, I was talking about how they are known for being heavy smokers....
it seems like everyone wants to tour for slayer
soon they will be on mtv
