Hey, 49 y.o. Slayer diehard since '88 here. I really enjoyed the interview, super cool, keep the good work!!! I've seen slayer live 11 times I think and I own more than 60 slayer vinyl and lots of CDs, I also used to play in a slayer tribute band playing mostly Jeff parts (I do have a Jackson punk rocker and a bloody les Paul) so you can imagine how big Slayer/Jeff fan I am. with all that said, I really like from hell I rise. it's a great fucking album and absolutely what I expected, even better than I expected. I bought the orange/splatter black vinyl edition. I love what Kerry has done with Slayer and is doing solo, I think repentless is veeery good record, better than WPB (my opinion). I always read on the internet That Jeff wrote all the good songs... that Jeff was the only one and Kerry is nothing without this a that, I think that’s not right and it’s unfair to Kerry. Go and Check the credits from the songs in the actual records and you will find that all the great tunes are co-written, and of course Jeff did by his own a lot of the songs that make slayer the best band in the world (at least for me).But For instance divine intervention (I swear I don’t understand the bad critics about this masterpiece, for me its reign in blood II) it is mostly KK written and Diabolus in musica which form me it’s the least good album, its mostly Jeff written. I also read or watch in TH-cam people who say that Kerry is the most expendable member in KK band, seriously?? I really like the lineup, big Vio-lence and death angel fan too, I didn’t know who Sanders is, btw but welcome. but again, seriously is Kerry the most expendable? Again, read the credits on FHIR for the songs please. and yeah, I don’t like the band being called Kerry King, but it is what it is, it has been explained. One more thing, it happens that one technician who works directly for one of the big four bands is a friend of mine. He always says to me that Kerry its not the person that people think, that he is very polite and cool and is more quiet than most of people think, I met slayer twice, in ’99 and in ’01 and all were cool to me, they signed my stuff and took pictures, being Jeff the more distant and Tom the coolest, but in 99 Paul was super cool to me also. well, sorry for the long boring stuff of the above , from Barcelona, best regards to everyone out there and metal Injection too, stay metal.

It all goes back to something that supposedly happened years ago in Slayer. Something to the fact that was like "dude, you need to learn to solo, if you don't, you're out of the band" I don't even know if that's true but since that rumor people have always though Kerry was inferior to Jeff and that's completely false.

Kerry's band "could" do every cover song on the Undisputed Attitude album and it would easily kick the same amount of ass live. Maybe Kerry King band could do the "Undisputed Attitude 2" those punk covers were that well done and Bostaph murdered it cold on every track.
It's no secret that Dave Lombardo had a legal dispute with Kerry and Tom over money, it ended pretty bad so obviously Kerry can't leave that behind when he has to talk about Dave..

I've been a Slayer fan since Hell Awaits. I thought I'd hate Kerry's new project because of the vocals. Tom had the perfect voice for Slayer's brand of thrash. I wasn't any happier when I heard Mark was the singer. I don't dislike or like Death Angel. To me they were just another thrash band that didn’t measure up to Slayer. I was surprised when I heard the first single. He sounds enough like Tom to make the songs work, but he has more power than Tom has had in years. Having said that, From Hell I Rise is still missing something. I want to love it, I've listened to it over and over. I can't put my finger on it. I was one of those assholes who didn't understand why people had a problem with Repentless. I don't even hate Diabolus. I can't figure it out. It has all the elements, but something isn’t right.

In my opinion had some good songs. As a Slayer fan it wasn't bad. Don't get me wrong but repentless and when the stillness comes but maybe that's it. When that's the end it was not too pretty bad👹

If Kerry's new singer was on God Hates Us All, it would be one of my favorite albums. Never cared for Tom's voice.
Tom's voice is brutal, but UNIQUE. That's why I was into him more than other vocalists. I totally understand what you're saying.

In my opinion had some good songs. As a Slayer fan it wasn't bad. Don't get me wrong but repentless and when the stillness comes but maybe that's it. When that's the end it was not too pretty bad👹
"Sucked" and yet was still better than 90% of the metal released that year, I don't really think there is a slayer album that *sucks", it's fuckin SLAYER maybe it didn't sound like south of Heaven part 2 but that's not what they were going for.
