- Patients could one day self-administer vaccines using a needleless, pill-sized technology, called the MucoJet, that jet-releases a stream of vaccine inside the mouth, according to a new technology developed at UC Berkeley. Coming from someone who is scared of needles it isn’t actually that bad. The needle is so small all you feel is your skin rubbing on something. The worst part of the vaccine was the anxiety of getting it lol

Here’s a tip to try, it might help. Try to distract yourself during the sot, maybe start a conversation beforehand, or bring a book. Maybe play some video games on a phone. Also, bring your favorite candy if you have one, sugar helps relieve pain by releasing a chemical anytime sugar is consumed. hope this helps! Good luck

Hi! I have a fear if needles so I understand how you feel. Whenever I get like a flu shot or vaccine I look forward and away from where I’m getting the shot, I also squeeze the chair or a parents arm whenever I feel pain. Finally, when I’m done I try and treat myself. For example I usually get the flu shot in late September meaning Pumpkin Frappes are out at Starbucks so I get one after! (Ik a described the flu shot a lot in this but this stuff can hopefully be helpful for the 9th grade shots you’re gonna get)

Wow. I wish this comes out in the market soon. And doctors begin to use it. I think it would be very useful in children especially because they have to get so many painful shots.I am not a fan of needles and avoid shots and vaccinations myself as an adult.

So I won’t need to get a giant needle in my arm to stop getting certain viruses forever. So at some point shots won’t be as menacing.
You can still get the virus but the effects will just be minimal preventing death
Or, you know, there are these glass disks covered in tiny plastic cones with the vaccine contents suspended in a gel solution coating. You just press the disk firmly but not deeply in the skin, and the vaccine works on an an equivalent time scale of hours as the cheek injection - maybe even less. It just travels through the various layers of skin into the bloodstream. And it's just as painless.
