Luckey’s reaction time was amazing. I didn’t even hear the first shot at him and Luckey was already flinching and stepping back. I don’t understand what people expect to happen when you arm yourself and point your weapon at an armed police officer with the authority to administer lethal force if you threaten anyone but yourself.
He probably saw the suspect pointing the weapon in his direction. Don't forget his eyes are seeing this much more clearly than we are in a shitty bodycam recording.

This shooting occurred three blocks from my house at frugal macdoggles it’s extremely sad the security officers was a great man that always had a friendly personality
As a security guard, this reminds me why we need training and tools to retain a firearm if were stationed at a location carrying openly. Lvl3 retention holster and training to retain your firearm is essential. We had a junkie sneak up on us, scared the shit out of everyone but a reminder how easy it is.
I switched to the Safariland ALS holster for this reason. I still wear other holsters when I need deeper concealment, but I like the fact my gun is locked in place when it's strong side OWB.
I was once a guard at one of the busiest and dangerous hospital in Los Angeles during my time working there we (security guards) were placed at all the public and some employee entrances throughout the hospital we were not armed with anything other then a 1980s Motorola walkie-talkies while the county police (armed) sit inside their command center flirting with all the nurses and visitors telling war stories while we were confronted daily with all kinds of visitors patients and rival gang members looking for their victims to finish them off that made it through a gun battle with them hour or days prior, a few of us took our straps with us undercover, I’m glad I’m not there anymore it was scary 1990s in East Los Angeles

perfect 3 man alignment with no crossfire opportunity. that was commendable the way they effectively dispersed against a contained suspect. balls of steel to the first man in and HUGE shoutout to that helpful civilian that gave him all the pertinent identification information as he was running. this is everything going exactly right except for the poor security guard. well-trained, prepared officers who embraced the danger to serve and protect. the vast majority of those in uniform hold themselves to the same standard.
At the end when they move up. Flanking officer is pointing his gun at the other officers also 1 of the other two officers flags the others back. Definitely some lessons to be learned but overall the officers did a great job.
It's so unimaginably evil that he shot and killed a man, and then just waltzed back in to get some alcohol, as if it was the most uneventful night of his life. That civilian helping the security guard and police, that's admirable.
Damn, this lends a new meaning to “ CLEAN UP IN AISLE 13 !” RIP Scott Meeks, gone but not forgotten. God Bless our LEOs they do not get paid enough to go in front of danger like this .
Can we talk about how the officer was fired at in a rapid succession and yet stayed so calm as if it didn’t happen and STILL restrained from just unloading on the guy like he could’ve. Takes a lot of maturity and a WHOLE LOT OF BALLS to be able to do that! Serious respect for the officers involved, glad they’re okay 👍
I get he eventually fired on him, but I’m talking about the first time . At the second point of being fired upon, there’s no reason to continue letting the criminal discharge randomly. These officers did an amazing job!
It hurts when decent, hard working people are killed or hurt. And someone who was working to be on the lookout and to prevent criminals. Boy I hate criminals. Love and sincere condolences to his family.

"lots of bullet wounds, all to the extremities" I hope the people who usually ask "wHy dOn'T tHeY sHoOt tHeM iN tHe lEgS?" all commend the police for this effort 👍👍
In regards to how this situation was handled, I'd say they did it just right, suspect down, no officer injuries. It's unfortunate that the security guard died from his wounds.
Wow, we needed these types of cops down in Uvalde. Even though I was safely watching the bodycam of the incident, my heart raced as soon as the gun fire went off. These guys deserve damn medals.

He is called lucky for a reason
Meh they can shoot you if you try to shoot yourself as well. They basically looking for any reason to unload their guns into you

I still wear other holsters when I need deeper concealment, but I like the fact my gun is locked in place when it's strong side OWB.

perfect 3 man alignment with no crossfire opportunity. that was commendable the way they effectively dispersed against a contained suspect. balls of steel to the first man in and HUGE shoutout to that helpful civilian that gave him all the pertinent identification information as he was running. this is everything going exactly right except for the poor security guard. well-trained, prepared officers who embraced the danger to serve and protect. the vast majority of those in uniform hold themselves to the same standard.
At the end when they move up. Flanking officer is pointing his gun at the other officers also 1 of the other two officers flags the others back. Definitely some lessons to be learned but overall the officers did a great job.
