Kind of goes to show the power of Generic weapons because clubs don't count as Busting damage for some reason.
Probably cuz they are spiky and blunt at the same time.
A candy-element weapon doesn't deal Generic damage anymore
@@literatemax They still deal generic damage, the elemental damage is added on afterwards. It's proven here by the CotMD. The salt mace is a great example, it deals generic salt damage. Take a pinch whacker of the same level which deals pure generic with no element(assuming it doesn't proc special) and there's a noticeable difference in damage against salt weak enemies. Nearly double the damage. This means that the generic and salt damage are being applied separately.

"Adding a candy upgrade to a generic weapon or a weapon with two baseline damage types will remove and replace one of those types. There is no such thing as a generic + candy weapon."

Scythe of Blossoms loses its secondary Slashing type if upgraded into a candy weapon. Everything from Spiky Sprig to Fire ant Club loses its generic damage type and becomes fully Spicy, fully Fresh, fully Salty, or fully Sour.
i still really hate how most bugs have resistances against generic type.

The widow dagger works well for me. Ended up being my main weapon during the final defense with the poison armor set and assassin mutation. I ended up doing poison and bleeding damage to everything and with sarah's charm had unlimited swings. I also got the chance to go to the other areas that were being attacked because of the bleeding and poison damage that I would leave some of the bugs with. I like the DPS and being able to use the shield as well but that's my playstyle.
Edit: I also have the sour upgrade on the widow dagger
Have to remember he was testing these weapons without mutations or other buffs. So of course the Widow dagger will perform much better given the right buffs.
@@wojciech91 He straight up says he doesn't recommend the widow dagger AT ALL.
@@LastKnight0727 I personally highly recomend it! I've hit a ladybug once with a charged attack and backed off to see what would happened with the assassin mutation and poison gear. ladybug was almost dead from a single attack over 7-10 seconds after bleeding and being poisoned.
Honestly, it all depends on your playstyle. The widow dagger destroyed everything with the sour upgrade during my final defense
@@vik8306 oh no I get it, I love the assassin playstyle. Great for mosquitos and bees because they like to back away. I'm just saying that Para doesn't recommend it at all, which is a little strange given that daggers are the highest DPS in the game.

I guess that in real combat with the right armor and mutations the widow dagger could shine a bit more 🫣 maybe if you finished the other test you could do another round of test with recommended armors and mutations 🙃 keep it up 👌🏻
I'd love to test out different builds but people will still find a way to complain I'm sure

I don't currently, usually I always reccomend building at the oak tree but I could consider making one
I would chose the sour battle axe over the Club of the mother demon because the sour battle axe is also a axe so you can save slot in your inventory

Been waiting for this i just made all the top 3 weapons from the other videos which means yes i have 4 clubs of mother demon in 3 different candies plus a mighty one lol.

@@reillocb it took me a while but it was worth it in my opinion. Its cut down how many weapons i carry around all the time. I use to keep like 2 rows of just weapons.

Now that the battle axe has been sped up in 1.3, it should be number one.
I prefer the battle axe, but to get it you need to beat the director and for this I use the sour broodmother club anyway.
I use different weapons for different creatures. Obviously, I’d only carry about 4 weapons on average and swap between creatures. You already have majority of data from all this testing. But could you list all gold medal weapons per creature. As an after thought, just a very short, best armour and mutation combo to use with the gold medal weapon per creature. But gold medal weapons per creature should be centre piece, while armour combo just a quick afterthought since we carry a few weapons, but usually limit our armour to one with a couple of helmets for every few trips into the wilderness.
The table at the end of the video shows which weapons got which medals on each creature
@@Paraly5er I saw that. But it is just based on individual sour builds only. You definitely have nearly all the data. Just not mighty as yet. Or I have missed that video 🤔. Love your indepth analyses though. Most original out of all Grounded youtubers. Just time to collate all your hard effort and truly recommend top 4 or 5 weapons to carry at all times. I don't know if others switch weapons all the time, but I do, especially end game, which is strangley far easier then when you first start playing.

What armour and weapons would you recommend i use for the broodmother? I have all tier 2 armour and weapons, and I’ve been using spider armour so far for everything. I play co op btw

Well deserved the club of the demon may have only gotten 3/4 but with apex preadtor it would have taken 4/4 easy but again I am happy the very first tier 3 is a strong weapon
Before you do that long video I would be super interested in seeing the top 3 for each element with their respective perk and see if club still wins since I personally think the barb perk is mid tier at best.
I hate the Barbarian Mutation, you REALLY need to be able to perfect block in Whoa mode.
Right perks and armors so the widow dagger might shine as well 🫣
But the "Best" build for each weapon is something which will cause arguments. Do I use barbarian with the clubs? Yes it increases dps but it makes the game nearly unplayable.
Myth: 1.2 has so many changed buffs and debufs that all analysis has to be redone.

After you tested with all weapons, which best weapon with each augments like spicy, sour, fresh, etc. Can you make a video about each melee weapons with the MOST suitable augment.. ? I mean you could make multiple and carry them all. But I may make a video on the best loadout for going around the yard which would include one weapon of each element along with some tools

Honestly as long as it's not sour they are all good. I would use 1 of each haha

i will opose on the ranking on this club should be second if we were going off of actual combat because the battle axe has max stun
A full combo from the sour battle axe does the same stun as a full combo from the club of the mother demon
I use Salty club of the mother demon, fire ant armor, liquid rage, and barbarian and I killed the mantis on average 30 seconds, it’s definitely the best weapon.
Well if you saw my last video I killed the mantis in about 5 seconds hahaha
Bro the widow dagger is insane with the poison build how could you not recommend it
Any weapon on this list can be improved using different builds. This just shows the raw dps of the weapons with no armor. The widow dagger isn't that good on its own
Why carry 4 different weapons when you can prod smacker + black ox beetle armor
This build is good for not getting hit I do agree but not the best in terms of high damage. Depends what you like
I just realised that you gave all milk molars because people would use this at the end of the game but you didn't use mutations which people would have 😂
Its important to test the weapons at baseline power so you can properly gauge which weapons are strongest on their own though.
People would just argue about which mutations to use and say I'm using the wrong ones. The only thing the molar changes is max stamina

The scythe is pretty good. But it can be improved with apex predator which makes it even better.

Ok so this has proved to me that people online are dumb, saying “oh full ladybug and the needle makes you Unkillable best set ever.” The needle will take so long to kill you will be dead IRL before it finishes, and Roly Poly does Ladybugs job better. You have no many ideas how many fights I have gotten into over this.
The proof that the needle is the WORST weapon maketh me happy.
True lol, the needle is PAINFUL to use. Yes it can help if you are really bad at the game but for the good players it just isn't a good choice

@@literatemax What there needed to be is a mosquito morning star, so you can pair it with barbarian and have a super high damage club but without perfect blocking so you can actually use the lifesteal. Maybe add in a hedgehog boss with hedgehog armor that gives you 200% reflect or something. As it is, the mosquito swords are low damage and don't capitalize on any perk or armor synergies. There's no way to leverage the lifesteal into more damage through an alternative and fun playstyle, so it remains at its base nature: Saving you a little bit of time gathering and inventory space.

I really think not using the weapon appropriate mutation was a huge over-sight. You can't compare a club against an axe without also comparing the mutations. This lost all practicality and is just intellectual.
I suspect the conclusion would be that the club is still the best, but the Axe would be the clear winner in multiplayer (for at least 1 person to use).
Ok but adding the mutation stipulation makes this much tougher. Would I go for mutations to maximise damage? Would I use barbarian which isn't at all practical when playing? Would I use natural explorer since everyone uses it even though it doesn't increase damage? Can I change mutations for different enemies? There's so many variables at play. Not to mention the luck aspect of coup de grass and other mutations
@@Paraly5er You make some good points. I would have just stuck to using the weapon mutation (and maybe apex predator). But that is obviously subjective. I will look forward to similar tests to show the "best builds" in the future!
